Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi all! Hanging out in our room at YC this morning. We have tickets to Avengers this afternoon so we are heading to Disney Springs around noon. We have had a great week. Crowds have been manageable despite it being Easter week. Probably the best weather trip ever, 70s & 80s, almost no humidity. It is rainy this morning, only rain all week. We actually haven’t been in the pool all week tho. The pool has been crowded every afternoon & we aren’t big swimmers. Plus we’re getting old so the thought of dragging a suit on & off, searching for chairs & dealing with a crowd hasn’t been appealing.

The staff has been friendly & professional as always. We don’t need help ever, but we always get the greetings, coming & going. We have stayed here multiple times a year for over 15 years. We never expect anyone to remember us, but I could tell this time, a few of them recognized us. Even if they don’t remember our names. You can tell by how their facial expressions change when they see you that they do recognize you. So that is nice.

The lounge has been busy, but never crazy. There are some new food options in the evening but there seemed to be fewer desserts. I have some notes & will post those after we are home. Don’t know if anyone has mentioned it, but they have the popular POG juice here now too. Don’t remember if it was out at breakfast, but definitely out with the afternoon snacks.

After being waaaay down the hall on our last 2 trips, I made a request for a room closer to the lounge & I absolutely love our room. It’s still in great shape. I noticed 2 little things in the bathroom that show a bit of a quality workmanship issue. The grout outside the shower is already discoloring & disintegrating. And the seals that hold the seat on the toilet are way out of place. Neither affect the room function, but only 2 years after the remodel, doesn’t seem like these should be happening already. The floor & furniture are in great shape tho.

Couple of things, no longer received the small sunscreen with the room amenities. And they did not leave the individual itineraries under our door each night either. We had both of those in February so it must be a recent change. I know, not a big deal, but those were nice little touches that seemed to elevate the club rooms to a higher level. Sad to see them missing, even tho we only got them for a short time.

Ok, and I don’t remember anyone talking about this yet either. I noticed in February there was no pen or small pad of paper in the room. I thought it might just be that room, because there was no desk there. But nope, no pen or note pad in this room either. Didn’t notice them on the housekeepers carts either. So I assume they are just gone! And I personally think that stinks!! Sometimes you do just want to jot something down. I kept a listing of my gift card spending. If I hadn’t brought a pen with me, I couldn’t have even done that. And yes, those pens & pads made nice little souvenirs. I am going to treasure the ones I have at home even more now.

That’s it for now, we have a late flight tomorrow & I have a family function Sunday. But I will post some more Monday, including the lounge foods we saw.

Hi, Dee. Will you please add me to the Be Our Guest list? We're staying at BC Club Garden View 7/4, moving to BCV (free dining deal) 7/5--7/13. I've never stayed at or even visited the Beach Club, and am very excited. Honestly, I was leaning toward Poly again, but 12yo DD is crazy excited about the idea of walking to Epcot, especially the idea of adding in quick evening visits. I'm looking forward to SAB, walking to Epcot and HS, the Regatta Run, and down time at the resort! Can anyone tell me if the resort craft activities are held at specific times or is it that you can drop in at any time during the timespan listed on the Activities Calendar?

I booked an August trip with the AP rate that came out recently. I may need to change dates though since DD has to finalize summer commitments after she finishes her exams next week. Excited to do YC CL again. I was there with DH in February; looking forward to the experience with DD. Once we get our dates finalized, I'll ask to be put on the BOG list.

So happy to have a trip in my horizon! (Sad to see that sunscreen is no longer included. I loved that little size for our arrival day.)

We've finalized all our plans and are very excited - can you please update our stays? :)

November 1-5 (YC CL) then November 5-10 (Poly CL)
December 21-25 (BC CL).

Thank you :)

We also thought the desserts were a bit sparse, even compared to our BC CL stay in February. The food was okay overall, but nothing wow like our stay at BWI CL. (I loved the food there, I just didn’t like the resort theme or layout.) The freezer full of ice cream at YC/BC CL can’t be beat, though.

We had room 5195, which was in great shape and in a great location, but the A/C was exuberant and there’s a huge (loud) fan in the hallway just outside the room. Also no pen/notepad, but we did have sunscreen so I’d ask for that if you want some. We did find mousekeeping was a little stingy with toiletries, and one day they took away the empties but didn’t restock so I had to call for supplies.

You were lucky and missed the torrential downpours of Good Friday. Very soggy afternoon and evening. We did swim every day, though, usually first thing in the morning or later in the evening, so no problems finding a chair.

Overall, I thought the Easter crowds were nowhere near as bad as Presidents’ Day weekend. Maybe because it was so late this year?

Can I be added to the Be Our Guest list too? Oct 24-Oct 29 at the Yacht Club (me with my son, wife and 2 granddaughters which is that family's first visit and with my other 2 sons (their second visit). We'll be staying in a garden view.

Did they have the foot cream? That stuff is amazing but getting it seems so utterly random.

Yup, our room had the full set of stuff when we arrived...shampoo, conditioner, body wash, two soaps, sunscreen, lotion, aloe vera gel, mint foot rub, a shower cap, and the box with cotton swabs and stuff. It was a CL room, though, so maybe that’s why more stuff was there.

Wondering if anyone not CL could confirm the same amenities.

Not only have we gotten aloe, foot rub and suntan lotion for water view Yacht Club thanksgiving 2017 and Christmas 2018, we also got robes and slippers. In fact, we had canned sodas in the refrigerator last December. Although, this was around the time that posters were saying there was regular trouble with the freestyle machines at the Market at Ale and Compass. We have never stayed club at Yacht. I even got all the good toiletries standard view at AKL in January. I think it depends on when and who cleans and stocks the room.

Thanks. My husband and I have determined that we NEED two rooms, one for the girls and one for us. He's basically said without the two rooms we just don't go on vacation. So, the Swan it is! Anywhere else is just way too expensive (and I like staying on the Boardwalk. i am going to cancel my reservation tonight.

I'll meet you over on the DVC forums as soon as you're back from the Swan! We'll help you find a good deal on BCV resale 8-):D

Two things.

1) slight guest list update, we bumped over to a YC standard view, same dates, for a cost savings using the new gift card promo

2) with our saved $$, we are looking at the cabanas. My concern is less the dedicated CM or the soda fridge and more the guaranteed seats. If we're getting to SAB right when it opens in late August, are we going to have trouble finding a shaded spot? I'm sure by later in the day pickings are slim but I'm hoping that arriving right at opening, we should be OK. Thoughts?

We booked our cabana already for our trip. It has Two loungers , a couch and two regular chairs included. We are not arriving until 11:30 and during our reservation it was noted of our later than opening arrival. Were you not going to pre-book? I was told they only have 4 cabanas. But maybe that was incorrect? This will be our first time renting.

Sorry if I was unclear. I'd rather not spend the money on a cabana if I have a decent shot at getting shade just by grabbing a couple chairs right when that area opens. I'm asking how competitive the general seating is at that time.

Sorry , we went in November, in the low80’s plenty open. August I would think you would have to be standing there at open. I did hear that the new cabanas took some of the shaded areas so there may be less now. Have a safe trip!
