DVC Fresh Bath Towels

I can call everyday to get someone to bring me fresh bath towels at the Anaheim WorldMark Wyndham Timeshare Resort. They will come to my door to bring me fresh bath towels. All I do before they come up is drop the used towels outside my door. WorldMark Wyndham Timeshare will not charge me an extra fee for dropping off fresh towels. They will also pick up the used towels after bringing in my fresh towels. I do not have to go to the pool area to pick up towels for bathing. I now pay $706.33 for my 6000 credits annual Assessment. I believe the annual assessment at DVC is much higher than at Wyndham WorldMark. DVC members should not have to go to the pool to get bath towels. Your annual assessment should cover someone bringing you fresh bath towels everyday. DVC members should make a complaint about the Bath Towels situation.

Reading the replies here just made my smile after a long day at work. So glad the DVC Disboards calls people out with productive suggestions for where to go. Just had to share (and I figured this thread is a troll one anyways, so...)

Most of us do not need/use a clean towel towel every day. The 1 bedrooms and larger have a washer & dryer in the villa and we can easily launder towels if desired.

Those who want/need a daily fresh towel can pay a small fee for an extra set. That minimizes the effect on maintenance fees for everyone.

P.S. It's a better fit for the Resorts Board. Just moved it there for you.

Worldmark also has a mandatory Housekeeping fee, even for a one night stay. I love that DVC doesn't have that. I'm happy with the way it is. I do my own laundry and don't need a fresh towel every day.

Other than studios one has a W/D in the room. Personally for studios I think they should have given some flexibility. The reason they started charging was simply abuses by the members. Either way you pay for it with both systems, it's just more pay to play with DVC when towels are concerned. The higher dues are for different reasons. I'd rather you complain about it than steal the pool towels to use in the room as some do.

It depends on the room type. For a studio or 1 BR you get 4, more for a 2 or 3 BR. I'm not certain about the studios and 1 BR that formally sleep 5, someone else can address it. They'll replace them after 3 nights included. But if you need 5 and only have 4, you just all and in theory you should be charged for a full towel pack.

Good to know. Pack wash cloths is the key. I can do with a towel for 3 days but I’d be unhappy using a dirty wash cloth. Of course I’m talking about studios.

You can always get a towel pack. If you bring you're own you'll need to be sure they don't take them on change day so I'd say colored would be best. Even if you pay for a towel pack they won't automatically change those also on change day, they usually just take everything and leave you a new regular set. My SIL won't reuse a towel so we give the W/D a workout.

In my experience (BWV and Poly) give you 5 towels and wash cloths for the studios that sleep 5.

No thanks. I’m good with the dues as they are, and don’t want to pay more for something I don’t need.

If I’m truly dying for more towels I’ll order a towel pack or wash what I have. Even in a studio I can go wash my towels in the laundry room if o feel like it.

As a DVC member I prefer the towel situation the way it is. I am not prepared to pay for members to receive a clean towel every day which btw is not normal in a Condo. The villas have laundry facilities for goodness sake.

Worldmark has a variety of fees that might be charged at the moment of booking the reservation, rather than on arrival. These include:

• Housekeeping charge; if and only if you've exhausted the number of Housekeeping "Tokens" allotted to your account.
• Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT); based on the resort location. Not all locations charge TOT.
• Taxes on Housekeeping charge; based on the resort location. Not all locations charge tax on HK.
• Guest Certificate; if and only if you've exhausted the "free" Guest Certs allotted to your account.

Keep in mind that the Annual Dues mentioned in the original post is relative to their account size. 5000 credits (points) is the very smallest account allowed in the system. To put it in context, the older WM resorts charge 7000 credits for a high season studio or 6000 credits for a mid-season 1BR. (WM has only 3 seasons and much of the inventory is designated high season for most of the year. Some locations are high season 365 days/year and some have only high and mid seasons w/out any days in low season.)

DVC has VERY high dues. IMO there are some legitimate reasons for that and some that are not. One of the big reasons is the multitude of smaller contracts, it simply costs more per point to manage a small contract compared to a larger one and this is not an inconsequential amount.

No one goes to the pool to get BATH towels. They have pool towels there. If you want to use a pool towel for the bath, go for it.

Actually many do. We've seen reports here over the years and I've seen personal examples where people loaded up an armful of clean pool towels and took them to a room. We've seen a number of posts over the years where people stated they did that. I don't have a problem with taking a dirty towel to the room one has used then reusing it there but IMO it's inappropriate and dishonest to take clean towels back for this purpose.
