Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Also, if anyone is interested, they still have the room service menu available in the Tonga building with slight changes from the menu I saw posted a couple of years ago. It states that it is your choice of one breakfast and appetizer but we have had no issue ordering multiple at a time

Hi everyone. I'm trying to flip through 1100 pages and figured I would just ask. My parents want to plan a 'trip of a lifetime' and I think this might include CL. I want to give them options between a MK resort and an EP resort, so maybe GF and YC. Which CL is better, why and is CL really worth the extra $$? I'm doing a little pricing out for them and it looks like the price difference is a $100 a night. Thanks!!
I think it is worth it for a special trip.

What do they like to do? Which park do they prefer? For an older couple I would say YC: clean, quiet, upscale, happy hour food is not 'exotic' for lack of a better description. At GF I heard Sugarloaf lounge can be busy; we stayed RPC and loved it. RPC lobby beautiful and daily live music, but the price is usually ridiculous, for lack of a better description :daisy:

Contemporary would be another good CL choice. Easy lounge access, monorail delivers you right inside your hotel. My mother likes to view fireworks every night, and she can do that from the lounge. There is also a large balcony so you don't have to view through the glass. Choose a Std CL room (lake view, saves money over TPV) for another view of the lake and electric water parade, and it is often similar in price to a TPV non-CL room.

You are correct that CL rooms are on the 4th floor, separate from the lounge which is on the 6th floor. CL and standard non-CL rooms are the same and the 4th floor does consist of both CL and non-CL rooms. Hope you have a great trip

Thanks for the information. I’m a little disappointed that regular rooms don’t have a dedicated floor on the same floor as the lounge like they do at the YC. I know the villas do, but those seem impossible to get.My daughter really wanted to try AKL and I enjoyed CL at the YC so much I figured we’d give this a try. Hopefully the resort itself will win me over. I have to force myself to try new things, I like what’s familiar to me! lol

Here's my rub on CL vs non.

I love CL when we bring our kids, it's so very convenient for all of us to have snacks and drinks available all the time. We rarely make ADRs when staying CL, which means more efficient park time. We feel so pampered when we stay CL, even though most times we don't use SS it we love having it available. It is totally worth it to us for family trips but we have a hard time justifying it for just the 2 of us.

As far as location, it depends upon which park you prefer. I second the poster who suggested to check out the Contemporary CL and want to add to maybe consider Poly CL too as Poly is very convenient to the monorail to Epcot as it's a short walk there and you don't have to change monorail tracks. We loved our BCCL stay in 2018 but aren't really fans of YCCL but if you are bringing the grandchildren SAB is an amazing pool!

Thanks for all the info. This is super helpful! Have a great time!

Hi - we are at the BC now. So far it’s exceeded our expectations. We haven’t stayed here for a few years and have been missing it. No ones bands worked when we checked in for some reason. We had to bring all of our bands out to them to update or fix or whatever they did. We each brought 3 so it took a while. It looked like others were having similar issues. But they work fine now.

The offerings are much better than on our last trip here in 2014. We are really happy with them. In the evenings they have a few kinds of wine, 4 types of beer and a sangria. Ice cream available around the clock! That’s been a big hit with us.

We can text stone harbor club any questions. We’ve used it a couple times and they’ve been very responsive. It’s been a great trip with excellent food. Loving it so far! Let me know if you have any questions.

You're welcome! I haven't tried CL at AKL, but it's on my list as I'm always reading positive things about it. I, too, wish the CL rooms where on the same floor as the lounge, but from what I've read, it doesn't seem to be too much of a hassle. I stayed Poly CL for the first time last Oct and while the entire longhouse is CL (3 floors), the lounge is on the 2nd floor. We were on the 3rd floor in the very last room all the way at the opposite end of the hall and I didn't find it bad to get to the lounge. It was a little bit of a trek, but definitely not enough of an inconvenience that would deter me from staying there again. Hope you have a great trip :).

Officially re-joining the Club Level club here. 🥂

We'd been waffling on the standard room we had booked vs. CL for our 4th of July Poly week. I made the switch today. The recent food reports (thank you!) and the simple fact that I feel waaay less anxious about room location -- I just really love the Hawaii building and really want to be near the pools -- sealed the deal. We have several resort/non-park days while we're there, so Poly CL will just be so convenient and perfect. Who was I kidding... I've been daydreaming about going back since the day we checked out after our few nights there last summer!

I've read about reserved fireworks viewing (seating?) for Poly CL guests on the 4th of July in prior years. Hoping for that little perk this year! Do they do anything else out of the ordinary in the lounge for the 4th?

Will anyone else be there around that time this year?

Congrats! Should be awesome!! 🏖
I will be there too! Woo-hoo! We are staying Poly CL in a GV room 7/3-7/9 after 4 nights at BWI. This is our first time staying Poly over July 4th and we are super excited. We planned a resort only day on the 4th and booked a patio so we are hoping for great weather. :beach:
I think we may have a few Dis folks there over the 4th!!party:

Sounds awesome - do you recall the specific beer offerings? And if you happen to have a water view room, thoughts on best location? Thanks!

GV for us too and we'll be at the Poly through 7/10. Guess we might be neighbors!

Yes, it is definitely worth it to spend the extra $ on CL (and this is from a non-drinking, "sugarfree" vegetarian).
Lately I've been staying at YC since I really like their carpet-free rooms. I also like to be on the same floor as the lounge. The YC lounge seems less busy than those at GF. The only thing I don't like about YC is the chance of getting the shared balcony if you book a standard view. Therefore one must try to get a garden or water view.
The only time I would stay at RPC is if a TPV room is available. I don't justify paying extra for a standard view at RPC.

I think you made a good choice! The Poly is great in any room category, but CL is just amazing! Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

It's always fun meeting other Disers! Hope there are lots there during your stay :goodvibes.

I found the answer the other day, forgot it and now I can’t find it! lol Staying at AKL CL , standard room. If we want to be as close to the lobby (lounge) as possible, but still have a good savannah view, what should my room request be? Bonus points for close to pool! Yes, I want it all. But seriously, close to the lounge is our most important concern. Thanks!

We are staying at GF RPC mid-July. We are super excited as GF is one of the few Deluxes we’ve not yet stayed at! We have a TPV room booked.

Is there anything special I should request in terms of room location? I know very little about the RPC rooms in terms of distance to the lounge, view, set-up etc. I’m assuming they all have a daybed? Balconies?

I’ve had so little time to research...I’m usually way ahead of the curve by this point. Feeling a little behind this time around. I don’t even know which floor the CL is on haha!!

Anything else I should know?

Ooh...one more thing...my DH wants to know what kind of beer they are currently serving. Is it help-yourself like the Poly or do you need to be served?

Thanks!!

Sadly, our CL stay at BWI is over. It was our first stay at BWI, but it won’t be our last. Kids really liked being able to grab some juice or soda. Very convenient. Met fellow AP DISer @CaLuCa and her family. Always nice to put a face with a name!

Since I’m always asking about food, here is my report on offerings and CL at BWI.

Breakfast had the following every morning:
Hot Oatmeal
Grits or something similar
Hard boiled eggs
An egg dish (tortilla española, baked eggs, omelette station on Sunday)
Smoked salmon
Cheese and charcuterie (bresaola, chorizo, ham, etc).
Yogurt (not plain) in little cups
Pastries (including Kristin Kreme donuts)
Fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, pineapple or cantaloupe)
Dannon yogurts in the fridge
Coffee station, tea station, cappuccino station
Sunday had mimosa and Bloody Mary

Mid-day snacks:
Popcorn
Chips
Crudités with dip
Cheese and charcuterie
Two sandwich options (PB&J, turkey and ham, pork belly bao, etc.)
Egg and asparagus wrapped with smoked salmon or salmon wrapped in cucumber
Cookies
Make your own trail mix
Candies

Evening Appetizers:
There were two hot small plates every evening, cooked and plated by the Flying Fish chefs (Friday was curry chicken with white rice and fish with leeks, Saturday was Wagyu beef and shrimp cocktail and Sunday was pork belly with diced apples and a gastrique and swordfish with veggies cooked with herbes fines. These small plates were very good.
Crudités with dip
Cheese and charcuterie
Two small cold appetizers (caprese salad, muffuletta salad, etc.)

Evening Wines:
Chateau Ste Michelle cab
Indaba Chardonnay
Bolle sparkling rosé
Pinot Noir
Prosecco
Monastrell
Riesling (my DH says there was one, but I don’t remember this)

My only criticism is that we were there over a (busy) holiday weekend and there wasn’t enough seating for everyone, particularly Friday and Saturday apps and Sunday brunch. Would be nice if they could set up some additional temporary chairs and tables in the area outside the lounge when they are full.

BWI itself
We really liked it. It has a superb location (perhaps the best location at WDW?). The Boardwalk theme is carried throughout and they really have done a good job with it. Kids enjoyed Ample Hills downstairs. Pool area was very themed and the slide was a lot of fun. Foosball table at the pool was fun. Felt more adult than the average Disney hotel. Good bus service too!

On the downside, the layout is a little contrived. You have to either take the stairs to the Boardwalk and pool or a separate (single) elevator. Wouldn’t be the easiest to navigate with a stroller or an ECV. Didn’t affect us, but throwing it out as it may be something for other families to consider. Also, no real QS, only sandwiches and pizza.
