*** The Official December 2019 thread ***

My ADR window opened this morning and the only 3 that I had trouble with were Garden Grill, Akerhus and Bon Voyage (all for breakfast). I was thinking the same thing about the Candlelight Processional Dining Packages. Fingers crossed that they open up some more reservations soon!

FYI for anyone looking for Garden Grill - I just checked the day I needed (12/2/19) and I am now seeing lots of available times! This morning I couldn't find anything there on that date for any meal.

My ADR opened yesterday and I couldn't book Fantasmic! Dining package at Mama Melrose.
Will they open more slots or should I count on my luck for cancellations?

I've had the same issue with the Fantasmic! package not getting loaded in the past. I called so many times that year and they just told me to keep checking. No way is it full yet. I would just keep checking online daily (even multiple times a day)

Are the Fantasmic dining packages really worth it anymore? Years back they'd seat us on the far right and we'd all get soaked from the breeze pushing the water spray at us. Then they changed it up so we had to wait in line with everyone else to get in. Seemed silly to bother with a DP if we'd have gotten decent seats anyway.

Going 12/25 - 1/4, staying offsite. Traveling solo but would be glad to meet up for a meal, music show, etc.

I think it all depends. I’ve done the dining package, dessert box, FP+, and standby. The dining package and dessert box give you dead center in the Mickey section (or overflow to Pocahontas). The dessert box actually says you may get wet when you book it. FP+ gives you the Maleficent - Beast sections (or over to Pocahontas). Standby gets the other half right when you walk in (Scar - Witch). This is all assuming we’re talking about the first/only show of the night.

With SWGE opening and the proposed FP+ changes/tiering people have heard about from the CL FP, idk what Fantasmic! will look like. I imagine more guests will be filtering into DHS and hope Disney adds an additional show to reflect the higher traffic.

That's what I thought.
Mama Melrose seems like the least popular of the 3 restaurants for Fantasmic package.
I don't have many ADRs planned for this trip and when I could get BOG for my 2nd day, I thought everything else should be a breeze
Thanks for the tip, I'll try that.

Our trip is still very much up in the air. It probably will have to get canceled. (I'm kind of hoping it gets canceled, because that would mean construction is proceeding on our new home in Kissimmee.)

Thanks for the info! I grabbed my reservation for 12/3 today too.

I've been so busy the last few weeks, it's rough planning a wedding and Disney trip at the same time

Was reading up on the old thread and found that we started a new one! We are staying at POFQ December 8-14! Can't wait!!

On another note....anyone have any recommendations for dining? It's almost time to make our ADR's!!!!!!!!

Today was my ADR day. I am only reserving Chef Mickey and Via Napoli so I didn't think waking early would be necessary. I was wrong. Chef Mickey was completely booked on December 1st. No openings when I checked at 7am this morning! I finally got an 8:20pm reservation, but I have 2 year old and I was hoping to go to bed early on the first night, so I don't really want an 8:20pm reservation. I even tried calling with no luck. So I have 180 days to try to secure an earlier reservation. I knew Chef Mickey was popular but I didn't know it was wake up early at 180 days popular.... Good luck to everyone else with ADRs today or soon!

Try reservation finder on touring plans to try finding an earlier reservation. People will cancel as it gets closer and plans change/firm up/fast passes windows open up and package cancellation windows loom.

Just booked a trip for Dec 4 - 12, right now we're at AKL, that might change if they release any AP discounts. (Keeping my fingers crossed, otherwise this is going to be an expensive trip!)

We got a call from the builder today saying that they're about to begin construction, and it generally is 4 months from the start of construction to completion, so by December we'll be locals.

I'm not sure what that does to our December trip, actually. We were expecting to move in the December timeframe. I suppose that could still be the case; we can carry both homes for a month or two. If we go that way, we probably wouldn't schedule a vacation in December. Alternatively, we might try to sell our home earlier, so we'd be moving late October or early November. In that case, a week of vacation at WDW would be really nice in December. :)

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but does anyone know why MK is closing at 4:30 on 12/2? There is no MVMCP that night.
