Canadian Buffoon's Semi-EPIC Vacation - 10/29 - Link to new TR!

I’ve made comments in other Epic TRs that I would have liked to be there. While that’s true I also would have felt a bit like an intruder on a girls weekend. But it seems there were a couple husbands tagging along too.

Sorry to jump in on your response Jeff - but you should definitely try to make it to the next Epic trip! We need a stronger Canadian contingency!

IMG_1618.jpg

I'm so glad someone else asked for pictures of your puppies! So cute!

There were...
And that's just it.
They were husbands.
So... to me, it made sense.
You're not going to be in Disney
and tell your Spouse
"Sorry, you can't come."

I was supposed to leave Luke home, but Orlando is too far for me to fly just for a weekend, and I didn't want to leave him home alone for a full week... plus he loves Disney just as much as I do, so I brought him along! It all worked out perfectly since he wasn't the only husband.

Holy friggen Mother of All Updates Batman. This is gonna take me a spell. All day might do it. :scared:
Apologies in advance.
This is not a short update.

Yeah.... see ^^

(No comments about how we were
already in Disneyworld.)

Correct.

I had forgotten to activate my
VIP bus pass before I left home.

Oopsies.
I mentioned to Elle that the
parade was coming and it was
definitely worth seeing.

Well I'll be. I coulda sworn you said you didn't enjoy parades... I didn't know you liked this one!

"I don't see anything!" She screeched.
I called back to her. "Well, there's something
that stinks! Did you smell your glove??"
She quickly raised her hand and took a whiff.

Mmm, a nice long whiff of E. Coli right down the airway.

Shortly after, dancers celebrating
gay pride came by.
I could be wrong about that.
But they were pretty flamboyant.

DSC07146_zpsqrwkxq3x.jpg

YUS! The 3:00 Drag Show!

<she closes her eyes and imagines the "goings-on" in her Hoarders lair...>

Okay... so the question is.
Why is Tink holding a wand?
Maybe she's heading over to
Universal and Harry Potter land
after the parade?

I'm pretty sure it's a dagger to cut our PP's heart once she finds out about he and Wendy.

Why are you holding your hands
about eight inches apart, Alice?
Alice! You naughty girl!!!

Alice is naughty! She eats shrooms, trespasses in flower gardens, and vandalizes a Royal's property. I'm pretty sure she is more than capable of other forms of naughtiness.

we paused
for a bit to listen to some
ragtime outside Casey's.

My favorite thing in all of MK.

So what do AP-ers do?
PP!

I do that a lot too. :rolleyes2

We enjoyed it more than we
probably thought we would.

Been quite a while since I"ve done that. Need to make it a point; maybe even FiP it.

The second time, she was pumped
about riding Space Mountain...
And it was down for refurb
the whole trip.
So this time... she was determined
to get her Space jam on!

I just can't do that much anymore. How was your neck afterwards?

... er maybe I should ask how HER neck was.

:lmao:

IMG_1676_zpsg8ysciri.jpg

The process was a lot slower

Cool!

Then you have to decide
if you want marinara or alfredo.
Then you don't decide and order both.
Elle mixed the two sauces together...
and not only did she love it...

I can see this happening! I'd do that!

Which explains why I look
like a moron and Elle looks
confused.

Looks a lot better than a few I've seen lately! Too funny!

so we checked for FPs and hopped
on POTC and got another FP after
for Jungle Cruise.

I'm surprised those were still available!

But our skipper said she would
scare them off just like she did
with all her relationships.
She called out "I love you!"
and it worked!

I love that one!

Time for some Citrus Swirls!
I hadn't had one before and...
Well, it was good, don't get me wrong,
but it wasn't nearly as good as a Dole whip.
Still good, though.

I need to try one of these and then decide which of the 3: Dole Whip, Peter Pan Float, or this is best.

"FP Pooh!" She said.

Hey... when nature calls, it's good to have a "fast pass".

Your girlfriend looks like she needs a "fast pass". Were you with her at the Canadian Border?

"I don't know what's going on,
but it's all so groooovy."

Nothing like getting roofied at the oyster bar.

I was so excited, I almost
shot my eye out!

:lmao:

By 11:30pm, Elle and I were
both relaxing in bed happily
munching on a slice of cheesecake.
(And wow was it good!)

11:30 and cheesecake time! I like it!

Hi! Happy to be here and reading along with your semi Epic adventures!
:goodvibes
I'll be back in the 'Peg Thanksgiving weekend for my cousin's wedding so we might have a chance to meet up then.
Oh! Great! Make sure you PM me
when you know you'll be free
and we'll set something up! :)
My airport comment was that as bad as flying direct through Pearson can be, your experience of connecting through Pearson looks infinitely worse!
I do not like being rushed
or late.
Especially at an airport.
Must put Olivias on my ever growing list of restaurants to try!
You could do worse. :)
The best place to start a trip!
::yes::
I'm considering doing the
exact same thing next time.

That is so thoughtful and considerate!
It really was. :)
APs are the latest must have for Disney fan(atic)s.....especially when we live thousands of miles away.
::yes::
Big Top treats is the better option over Main Street Confectionary. It's far less crowded and I think they have a wider selection.
You think so?
I'm not really sure.
But you could be right.

There's certainly more room.
I need to get there this July. A handblown glass piece would be an awesome trip souvenir.
There are some available
for purchase already,
or you can have one

made to order. :)
Another positive Tony's review! Sounds like they are stepping up their game.
She loved it, but I find it...
okay.
Not great, not bad.
But I do like the location
and wouldn't hesitate

to go again, even solo.
The room looks great.....so spacious for a studio.
It was really nice!
The perfect ending to an awesome day. That Doc is a seriously nice guy!
Yes. Yes he is.

I finally have a day off to make it over here, and of course I'm already 10 pages behind :sad2:
But you're here now!
Right on time!

:welcome: to the TR, Fallon!
Next Epic trip, you'll have to plan to actually hang out with us all!
I just might let myself
be talked into it.

I'm sad we never managed to meet up!
I know.
And I'm not sure how
that happened.
I'm glad everyone was ok!
Only thing hurt was
her car's bumper.

Ugh, yes. I feel your pain! I drove to work in a snowstorm the morning of the 30th 👎
:sad2:
Tell me again why
we live here?

I love my WestJet Mastercard! The savings on baggage fees alone cover the cost of the card per year!
::yes::
We bought a luggage scale from Amazon, and it has saved our butts so many times! I tend to have overweight suitcases... (it's just one of those tiny little ones, you loop it around the handle of your suitcase and lift it straight up, and it tells you how much it weighs)
You're the second person
to mention that.

But... since I normally travel
solo...

It weighs what it weighs.
You didn't want to change your flight to WS571 instead? Or AC8513? Or Flair325? :rotfl:
:lmao:
You really want a visit?
Then be there when I travel!
You were in the same place

I was!
But... you're in the James Armstrong Richardson airport, yet I do not see anything from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in your daughter's hands?!
It was too early and
it wasn't open.

I love WestJet's Plus seats!
Yes!
I get them every time
I can.
And pout when they're
all gone.

You do not want to

see me pouting.
Hmm, when did WestJet rebrand their planes?
;)
We also left April 30th and had to de-ice :sad2: That Florida heat and sunshine definitely felt nice !
No kidding!
Changing into shorts
at the airport felt soooo good!
The flight attendant must have been from Toronto.
Or... from anywhere else
in Canada and just agreeing
with... everyone else in Canada.
This is a stressful room! I don't like it!
Did you wind up there too?
Again, I can't believe we didn't realize this and make plans to meet up!
:sad2:
It would've been so easy!
"Hi! Meet me by the pool."

Were they trying to put you in the South Point Road section (or whatever it's called - building 49/50 I think it is) ? We always stay in building 35 in the Old Turtle Pond area. It looks really far away on the map, but it's actually only a 7-8 minute walk to the main building!
No it was further.
I wasn't kidding.
I think it was 49 or 50.
Olivia's is such a hidden gem! And I don't even eat seafood!
So... what do you get there, then?

I'm so glad someone else asked for pictures of your puppies! So cute!
They're a couple of goofballs. :goodvibes
I was supposed to leave Luke home, but Orlando is too far for me to fly just for a weekend, and I didn't want to leave him home alone for a full week... plus he loves Disney just as much as I do, so I brought him along! It all worked out perfectly since he wasn't the only husband.
Sure, that's my point.
Most of the married women
aren't going to leave their
husbands at home...

But it was an epic girl's trip.

I felt like I would be imposing.

Holy friggen Mother of All Updates Batman. This is gonna take me a spell. All day might do it. :scared:
Nah. Just type.
"Boring update. No comment."

See? Done!
Yeah.... see ^^
see ^^
Fixed it, though.
Well I'll be. I coulda sworn you said you didn't enjoy parades... I didn't know you liked this one!
I don't enjoy most parades.
Well... I'll tolerate them.

But this one is just so well done...

That and the MNSSHP one of course!
Mmm, a nice long whiff of E. Coli right down the airway.
Gotta keep the pharmaceutical
companies from going under, you know.

YUS! The 3:00 Drag Show!
:lmao:

Just what exactly do you
think is going on down there?

I'm pretty sure it's a dagger to cut our PP's heart once she finds out about he and Wendy.
Hope he can fly fast.
Alice is naughty! She eats shrooms, trespasses in flower gardens, and vandalizes a Royal's property. I'm pretty sure she is more than capable of other forms of naughtiness.
Definitely naughty.
Who knows what she
does in her free time?

My favorite thing in all of MK.
It's not mine...
but it's up there.
My favourite thing
is still HM.

;)

But favourite non-ride?

Perhaps. :)
I do that a lot too. :rolleyes2
Been quite a while since I"ve done that. Need to make it a point; maybe even FiP it.
No. Don't waste a FP on it.
None required.

It's a theatre so everyone
gets in.
I just can't do that much anymore. How was your neck afterwards?
Fine! It was a lot smoother
than I remembered.

... er maybe I should ask how HER neck was.
You could hardly
see the marks.

:rolleyes1
Very!
Was glad I caught it. :)

I can see this happening! I'd do that!
 I might do it too!
Looks a lot better than a few I've seen lately! Too funny!
:rolleyes1

I'm surprised those were still available!
I wonder if they release more
when the crowds die down?
Either way, I wasn't complaining!
I love that one!
We all cracked up!
I need to try one of these and then decide which of the 3: Dole Whip, Peter Pan Float, or this is best.
Dole Whip.

Done.

You're welcome.

Hey... when nature calls, it's good to have a "fast pass".
No need to dawdle.
Your girlfriend looks like she needs a "fast pass". Were you with her at the Canadian Border?
You're not allowed
to bring live fish
across the border
without a ton of
paperwork.
For now my girlfriend
and I will have to live
in separate countries.
I'm sure we can make a
long-distance relationship

work out, though.
Nothing like getting roofied at the oyster bar.

:lmao:
11:30 and cheesecake time! I like it!
It's always a good time
for cheesecake.

Always.

Always.

You got a lot done in a short time at MK! We watched the parade from afar a few weeks ago- I was glad the dragon was firing again!

Tony's looked great- I hope to eat there in Dec. if they have the parade package.

I have never had a Citrus Swirl!

Yes- I saw it! :)

You got a lot done in a short time at MK!

We did!
When Elle and I
want to move...

We move!

I was very surprised
to see it firing!
I was sure they wouldn't

do that anymore.
Tony's looked great- I hope to eat there in Dec. if they have the parade package.
Tony's is always fun. :)
The food isn't necessarily
the best (unless you ask Elle.)

but it's perfectly fine.
I have never had a Citrus Swirl!
Don't you think it's time
you rectified that???

Yes- I saw it! :)
;)

Nah. Just type.
"Boring update. No comment."

See? Done!

Nah, yours are never boring. I save that genre for my TR. ;)
\
I don't enjoy most parades.
Well... I'll tolerate them.

But this one is just so well done...

That and the MNSSHP one of course!

I've seen the 3:00 Drag Show once.

It was purely by accident when I got stuck and couldn't cross. I HATE when that happens becuase it's a perfect time to slide on into BTMRR without a huge wait for FiP. Having said that, I did get a pretty good shot of the dragon breathing fire as I walked by it this trip, so there's that.

Gotta keep the pharmaceutical
companies from going under, you know.

Somehow I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon....

Just what exactly do you
think is going on down there?

She's a rebelious little minx. Just ask her Daddy.

Definitely naughty.
Who knows what she
does in her free time?

I"m sure the Mad Hatter has some stories!

It's not mine...
but it's up there.
My favourite thing
is still HM.

;)

But favourite non-ride?

Perhaps. :)

Oh that's what I meant. I am separating the rides from just... other stuff.

No. Don't waste a FP on it.
None required.

It's a theatre so everyone
gets in.
Except that every single time in ALL of my recent trips the wait has NEVER been less than an hour. Not worth it. So, maybe they filll the theater up every time, but there are 4 theater loads in line generally?

Fine! It was a lot smoother
than I remembered.

Good, this gives me hope that I won't be paralyzed when I go on it with my kids. Still, might sit it out though.

I wonder if they release more
when the crowds die down?
Either way, I wasn't complaining!

Maybe? Only the Disney Gods reallly know.

Dole Whip.

Done.

You're welcome.

I still like the cake now.

You're not allowed
to bring live fish
across the border
without a ton of
paperwork.
For now my girlfriend
and I will have to live
in separate countries.
I'm sure we can make a
long-distance relationship

work out, though.

But easier than fresh fruit.

I wish you both the best... meantime... you have an Eric problem.

It's always a good time
for cheesecake.

Always.

::yes::

Holy crap!
What a great shot!!!!!

That's yours???????

:worship:
Somehow I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon....

She's a rebelious little minx. Just ask her Daddy.
So you're saying she
has daddy issues?

I"m sure the Mad Hatter has some stories!
::yes::
Oh that's what I meant. I am separating the rides from just... other stuff.
Gotcha.

Really!
I've never waited
more than a few minutes.

Huh.
Good, this gives me hope that I won't be paralyzed when I go on it with my kids. Still, might sit it out though.
Just be careful.
The FP line is smooth...
the other... not so much.
I still like the cake now.
Tried it.
Didn't care for it.

But easier than fresh fruit.
I wish you both the best... meantime... you have an Eric problem.
Nah. She's got her fork
to take care of that.

Terror On The Tower

Even though the alarm
rang at a reasonable 7am,
(reasonable for Disney, at least)
getting up this morning
was a bit of a struggle.
I guess that'll happen when
you essentially skip a night
of sleep.
But once I got going,
the excitement of going
to a park got the ol'
adrenaline pumping
and all was well.

Elle woke up about
half an hour later.
I suspect she went
through the same range
of feelings as well.

But don't feel sorry for her,
she's young.
I am old.
Please reserve all your pity
for me. I deserve it.
I'm pitiful.

Before leaving the room,
I checked the app to see
what time the next DHS
bus would be coming by.
8:06am... and it was 8:03am.
Let's go!
We scooted out of the room
and zipped down the stairs
only to see a bus go by,
heading towards the bus stop.
"Come on!" I cried out.
We ran... at eight freaking
o'clock in the morning.
We sprinted over to the
bus stop only to see...
That it was a MK bus.

Rotten trick, Disney.
Well, we have two minutes
to catch our breaths.
Well... for me to catch my breath.
She's young and fit.
I'm old and fat.

At 8:06am, right on time...
the display changed to 8:36am.

It took us a bit, but we finally
figured out after this, that the
main bus stop was the last
stop on the OKW loop.
So if you wanted to make
sure you were getting on the bus,
you had to go to the first stop
which was a stone's throw away.
Obviously what happened to us
is that the bus filled up before
getting to the main stop
and passed it by.

Rotten trick, Disney.

The next bus arrived a few minutes
ahead of its scheduled time at 8:30am.
I presume since everyone had
already caught the earlier bus,
it had fewer guests to load
and made up time that way.

I grabbed my VIP bus pass and
realized that in my sleepy state
last night, I'd forgotten to
charge it.

It won't happen again!

Once on the bus,
a gentleman spoke with us
and wanted to know if we
were heading to DHS to
take part in the 30th anniversary
celebrations.

Uh... I had no idea that was today.
Also... I was hoping for a low
attendance day.

Um...

We arrived at the park at 8:55am.
Still before park opening, but
any hopes of being first in line...

DSC07242_zpshitdqbey.jpg

... yeah, not so much.

Still, one can always take the time
for a quick photo with Bo.

DSC07244_zpswt9ilj5t.jpg

As we entered the park,
we noticed people already
lining Hollywood Blvd.
To this day, I really have
no idea of what was going
on that day.
I do know that there was
a lot of First Order marching
going on, so... maybe that was it?

DSC07245_zpsclrjdff4.jpg

Of course we had no time
to sit and wait since everyone
on the move was heading
to ride SDD.
I'm sure the line was already
creeping up to an hour.

Not that it mattered to us,
since we split off from the herd
and headed down Sunset, instead.

DSC07247_zps2fy4omeh.jpg

Much more like it!
Elbow room!
Well... there was "elbow room"
on Hollywood too...
I just left a wake of cursing
and/or crying people behind me.

ToT, here we come!

I'm particularly pleased
with this shot I took of it.
Not one I've seen before
anyway.

DSC07249_zpspmdnqhac.jpg

And I had to pause and take
a quick photo of the empty
(so far at least) queue.

DSC07250_zps0n2dnjdk.jpg

I didn't pause for long
as a large mob of guests
was swarming towards us.

We moved on and found the
end of the line just around
the bend (past the dried up
fountain area.)
A small girl of about 8-10
years of age scooted past
us as we waited.
A few seconds later, the kid's
mom snaked past the people
behind us chanting:
"My daughter. My daughter."
Yeah... I've seen this game before
and I didn't feel like playing.
I stood my ground and
didn't let her pass.
She again bleated:
"My daughter. My daughter."
I told her not to worry,
her daughter would wait for her.

Now, I don't have a problem
with letting a parent and child
go through.
I've been there.
Kids gotta go to the bathroom
at the worst possible times.
But when it's obviously
a ploy just to cut through
the line... I get annoyed.
If you're comfortable enough
about letting your child go
ahead of you, unsupervised...
Then you're comfortable
enough to have them wait
for you until you get there.

Unfortunately, this wasn't
her first time playing the game
and as soon as I turned to say
something to Elle, she scooted
past me and resumed her
battle cry of: "My daughter. My daughter."

Oh well.
Two people weren't going to impact
my time in line.
Just the principal of the thing.

I pulled an Elsa and let it go.

Once inside the hotel, I quickly
took a couple of pics.
I love the theming in there!

DSC07252_zpsmnaiyves.jpg

DSC07253_zps3pkxnd1t.jpg

Moments later we were in
the library listening to a
faux Rod Serling tell us
why we shouldn't ride
the elevators.

We didn't listen and were
soon buckling ourselves in.
Apparently, however, there
was a little boy (about 8 years old?)
who did listen to faux Rod's advice.
The CM did her thing,
making sure everyone was
buckled in and then did
something I hadn't seen before.

"Is there anyone who would
like to get off?" She asked.

I glanced at her and she was
looking straight ahead,
towards the last row of the
elevator.

She said. "Are you sure?"

She paused a beat...

"Are you sure?" She repeated.

Another, longer, pause.

"Are you sure?" She said again.

A voice from the back row said.
"He did this before then wanted
to ride again."

The CM nodded... paused again...
"Are you sure?" She said for the
(I'm not kidding) fourth time.

All of a sudden, the little boy,
who'd understood faux Rod's
warning, was seen hurriedly
exiting the ride, followed by
his bemused father. His slightly
older sister followed shortly
after in their wake.

It turned out that maybe they
shouldn't have been the only
ones to get off the ride.
Once the elevator entered
the shaft and began it's
fatal (not really) plunge
to Earth, a little girl sitting
behind us started to
scream and cry.
Everyone on the ride
knew that she wasn't
overly excited about it.
Well... not in a good way.

The ride fell and rose...
and fell again...
and again...
the child crying the entire time.
Finally, the elevator settled
to the bottom of the shaft.
I, Elle and several other
people reacted similarly
by trying to console the
weeping child.
Voices rang out throughout
the elevator:
"It's over." "It's all done."
"It's finished now."

And then we shot up again.

At least, if you're with someone,
you can hang onto them
if you're truly terrified.

420655970_zpsurvitsyt.jpg

420655970b_zpsopedadhj.jpg

Terrifying.
Who in their right minds
would subject themselves
to that more than once????

So we went and rode it again.

420680048_zpsnkchqgbc.jpg

(old dude. front row. 2nd from right. "And stay off my lawn!")

Yep. Just as scary.
oooohhhh… so scary!

420680048b_zpsh0ofsorb.jpg

Time for something a little
less heart stopping.
Something calming.
Soothing.
Zen-like.

We marched over to RNRC.

IMG_1711_zpsaauxjhzy.jpg

Hey! Did I mention that
it was DHS's 30th anniversary!
It was only 10:00am, one hour
after park opening, and the
standby line was already
up to 55 minutes!
Elle said she wanted to
go anyway, and we had time...
So in line, we got.

IMG_1712_zpsd5ktqjxt.jpg

If I was doing this solo,
I'd either FP it, single rider it,
or skip it.
But this was Elle's party
so I relaxed and passed
the time by chatting
and checking the app
for the other ride times
to give us an idea of what
might be available afterwards.

DSC07263_zpscrxg3pkz.jpg

We got inside eventually.
I love how this room has
the guitar columns.

DSC07264_zpsxhozigiq.jpg

I'm not sure if it was me,
or Elle that pointed that
our names were on the
posters.
I caught hers before it changed,
but missed out on mine.
Oh well.

IMG_1714_zpsrb1ty9am.jpg

I fairly obviously photoshopped
her name in there.
That's because I don't post
her real name.
But it was there. :)

It took exactly 55 minutes
to arrive at the ride platform.
So the posted wait time
was accurate.

When we were in the
sound studio, the CM said.
"Congrats on those back stage passes.
I've literally never seen that before."
:lmao:

Always nice to sit back
in the air conditioning,
and enjoy a nice, relaxing ride.

420742351_zps5t3oeynu.jpg

Okay... time for some food!
I wasn't that hungry, even
though I hadn't eaten anything
either, but Elle was starting to
feel like she needed something.
We checked in at the nearby spots,
Fairfax Fare, Catalina Eddy's, etc,
but either didn't see anything
we wanted, or they were closed.
I suggested Woody's Lunchbox
where she, my pesky pescatarian,
could get a grilled cheese sammie
with a bowl of tomato-basil soup.
She was very happy with that idea.
So off we went.

IMG_1717_zpsejgrofqz.jpg

Nope. Not yet, SDD.
Another time.
Not waiting in the sun
for 90 or more minutes!

These unfortunate guys,
who'd obviously lost
a paintball battle to a
green team, slinked by.

IMG_1718_zps0rfbstjg.jpg

I love the design of Woody's Lunchbox.
It's... well... a lunchbox!
The thermos holds up one
side of the lunchbox,
while a tinker toy holds up the other.
The kitchen is inside Tupperware
containers, and Babybel cheese,
carrots, celery and animal cookies
make up the contents of Andy's lunch.

IMG_1722_zpsgzuv3ia2.jpg

Obviously, Babybel has paid
Disney a schwack of cash for
advertising.
I'm okay with that, actually.

IMG_1719b_zpsblpu31vz.jpg

How to make a chair.
Break Babybel in half.
stick a toothpick in and
tape a puzzle piece on.
Voila.

I kinda love that.

Elle got her food and I
got a Mystic Punch.
My punch was good,
but Elle loved her lunch!
For her, Tony's was the best meal,
but this one was probably
a close second or third. :)

The heat was starting to
become oppressive.

I know. You're shocked.
"Heat? Oppressive? In Florida???"

Well... it's in the DIS bylaws
that you are not allowed to
write a TR without at least
once mentioning the heat
with one of the following adjectives:
Killing
Murdering
Punishing
Brutal
Oppressive
Terrible
Harsh
Crushing
Overwhelming
Unbearable
Unendurable
Intolerable
Stifling
Suffocating
Adjective of your choice provided
it is equal to or worse than any
in the provided list.

I am nothing if not a rule
follower... except when I'm not.

As we exited Toy Story Land,
at Elle's urging, I snapped a
quick pic of this
newlywed couple.

IMG_1723_zpsi05aqtc3.jpg

It was more for self-protection.
It didn't seem to matter where
we were, or where we went...
But we kept finding ourselves
either immediately in front
or behind them.
It happened at the bus stop,
at bag security,
at ToT,
and now again.

They were obviously stalking us.
We had tried to ditch them by
ducking into TSMM, but the
ride was operating on limited access
(I think one side was down)
and they were only allowing
FP guests in.

We figured the only way to lose them
was by going off planet.

IMG_1724_zps1bdw4tnj.jpg

It worked.
We never saw them again.

Or they just got better at hiding.

Either or.

By now we were pretty much
done with DHS for the day.
We had another park to get to.
But not without a quick stop
with critters that are used to
having a hand up their butts.

Kinda like a lot of upper management.

IMG_1733_zpseyti35tl.jpg

One last stop before we leave.
I'd always been told:
"You have to have a Mickey Ice Cream!"
And I have.
But it was only recently, that I became
aware that there was also a
Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich.
I'd never had one, and this had
to be rectified.

IMG_1734_zpsrcmb7dr8.jpg

Not the worst way to end
our day at DHS.

As we headed off to the bus stop,
we saw that the gondolas on the
Skyliner were moving.
Won't be long now before they're
operational.

Okay... time to head to our next park.
I've certainly given you a clue where
we're headed next.
Let's see, next time, if you were right.

And...
In case you didn't see it
last chapter:

Did you see it
in this chapter?

Coming up... where to next?

Even though the alarm
rang at a reasonable 7am,
(reasonable for Disney, at least)
getting up this morning
was a bit of a struggle.

Not nearly as bad as what I anticipate it being like for the kids and me to get to the 6:00 EMH ini Sept. OY!

the excitement of going
to a park got the ol'
adrenaline pumping
and all was well.

I'm counting on this! Gonna need it!

I grabbed my VIP bus pass and
realized that in my sleepy state
last night, I'd forgotten to
charge it.

I'm starting to doubt its existence. Just sayin'...

Once on the bus,
a gentleman spoke with us
and wanted to know if we
were heading to DHS to
take part in the 30th anniversary
celebrations.

Oopsies...

Still, one can always take the time
for a quick photo with Bo.

Always time for that!!!

Well... there was "elbow room"
on Hollywood too...
I just left a wake of cursing
and/or crying people behind me.

Sauntering is the preferred method. Except at RD... then elbowing is the rule of mogation.

As you should be. Cool shot!!

Unfortunately, this wasn't
her first time playing the game
and as soon as I turned to say
something to Elle, she scooted
past me and resumed her
battle cry of: "My daughter. My daughter."

Oh well.
Two people weren't going to impact
my time in line.
Just the principal of the thing.

I call B.S. Oldest trick in the book and one she can be sure ain't gonna work with a few. Gimme a break. :rolleyes2

I love the theming in there!
My favorite of all the rides for theming.

"It's over." "It's all done."
"It's finished now."

And then we shot up again.
:lmao:

We marched over to RNRC.

Getting harder to do that one being old as dirt now.

I love how this room has
the guitar columns.

HEY! I never noticed that!

"Congrats on those back stage passes.
I've literally never seen that before."
:lmao:

Oh, nice touch!!

Not waiting in the sun
for 90 or more minutes!

Nope, nope, nopity NOPE!

Obviously, Babybel has paid
Disney a schwack of cash for
advertising.

"Overdone" comes to mind.

Yeah... I JUST wrote about this on my TR. It was officially the hottest recorded May in over 100 years.

Kinda like a lot of upper management.

Correct.

I'd never had one, and this had
to be rectified.

Given the previous discussion of hands up butts, I had to do a double take on that sentence.

Obviously what happened to us
is that the bus filled up before
getting to the main stop
and passed it by.

Rotten trick, Disney.

And so frustrating.

I grabbed my VIP bus pass and
realized that in my sleepy state
last night, I'd forgotten to
charge it.

It won't happen again!

I should hope not.

Still, one can always take the time
for a quick photo with Bo.

DSC07244_zpswt9ilj5t.jpg

Cute photo with Bo.

Much more like it!
Elbow room!

Another change. I remember when everyone was headed down Sunset Blvd elbow to elbow. But since TOT is my favorite ride I'm ok with less crowds here.

ToT, here we come!

Yeah! This is my jam!

Very nice!

Unfortunately, this wasn't
her first time playing the game
and as soon as I turned to say
something to Elle, she scooted
past me and resumed her
battle cry of: "My daughter. My daughter."

Oh well.

my time in line.
Just the principal of the thing.

I'm a rule follower so this really bothers me. Good of you to "Let it Go".

Once inside the hotel, I quickly
took a couple of pics.
I love the theming in there!

Me too. Soooo much to look at.

a little girl sitting
behind us started to
scream and cry.
Everyone on the ride
knew that she wasn't
overly excited about it.
Well... not in a good way.
Poor kid. I can see her in your picture.

:rotfl2:

So we went and rode it again.

That's what I would have done.

I love the Elle is playing along too.

I'm not sure if it was me,
or Elle that pointed that
our names were on the
posters.
I caught hers before it changed,
but missed out on mine.
Oh well.

This is really neat. Not that I'll see it for myself. I don't do RRC anymore. The upside down loop messes with my equillibrium.

I love the design of Woody's Lunchbox.
It's... well... a lunchbox!
The thermos holds up one
side of the lunchbox,
while a tinker toy holds up the other.
The kitchen is inside Tupperware
containers, and Babybel cheese,
carrots, celery and animal cookies
make up the contents of Andy's lunch.

This sounds so cute. I can't wait to see if for myself. We really want to try & grab some food here.

Elle got her food and I
got a Mystic Punch.
My punch was good,
but Elle loved her lunch!
For her, Tony's was the best meal,
but this one was probably
a close second or third. :)

Danielle really wants exactly what Elle got.

One last stop before we leave.
I'd always been told:
"You have to have a Mickey Ice Cream!"
And I have.
But it was only recently, that I became
aware that there was also a
Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich.
I'd never had one, and this had
to be rectified.

The Mickey Ice Cream bar is my go to, but I'm willing to try the ice cream sandwich.

Did you see it
in this chapter?

Yes I did. Was he hungry too?

Is there anyone who isn't
affected on some level by that
first view of the castle?
Yes. They're called monsters. :snooty:

So... prepare thineself for a
surfeit of sub-par parade photos.
To match the semi-epic trip?

Don't you think it'd be great
if the pantsless duck posed
by the pantsless prince over
at BOG?
YES! And to think Disney is a family-friendly place :sad2:

Okay, I look like a moron...
more than usual.
:sad2:

But our skipper said she would
scare them off just like she did
with all her relationships.
I wonder if they're hiring? I have an impeccable resume.

Doc had baked us a cheesecake
Awww, and here I called @docsoliday1 a good egg just the other day. Further proof.

But not without a quick stop
with critters that are used to
having a hand up their butts.

Kinda like a lot of upper management.
::yes::

What a great start to your trip! :goodvibes

The people were lined up for a parade Disney put on for the 30th. They live streamed it and it was lame :rotfl2:. However Disney Parks Blog did have a contest and I entered then a couple of weeks ago this showed up in the mail. I was surprised I actually won. It is a nice heavy stainless steel water bottle.

I hate it when people do that to cut the line. I love the Baby Belle chairs. I wish I were eating one of those Mickey ice cream sandwiches right now. I hope the Skyliner is operational in Sept/Oct when we are there.
