I’ve read that you can get around that by calling and explaining that the second adult in the room doesn’t drink due to allergies, personal preferences, religion, etc. I would not do this if the other person actually intends to drink (even if just occasionally by purchasing their own drinks) because it will likely be noted in the passenger file and could cause issues. I don’t drink (hardly) so if DH ever wanted the package that’s what I would plan to do and I would skip any drinks while on the ship.
Thanks. DH very rarely drinks and last cruise I would just get him a beer like once every other day. I would get him the soda package which he would use. I like the package so I don’t have to worry about the cost although it is probably cheaper just to pay as you go.

So, if I managed to get myself removed from his CSR card as an AU, since my CSP (now closed) was open July 2016, I would then be eligible for another Sapphire bonus in July of 2020?

The restriction is 48-months after you received the bonus, not when you opened the Sapphire card. It'll likely be sometime after 07/2020 when you'll be eligible for a CSP or CSR bonus again. This assumes you can manage to stay under, or get back under 5/24 by then.

I guess that leaves the CIP.
I totally get why you said it this way, :) but I just had to chuckle at that 🤣 . CIP and the overflowing CIPpy cup is literally the best thing that’s happened to churning in awhile. You get yourself back to under 5/24 and will show you a path to potentially earn 400,000 URs in a year from just 1 player. ( of course this loophole could close at any time) :D

I see people talking about transferring cruises to Chase? What is that and how does it work?
Chase has a travel agency so you can transfer cruises (except Disney) to them like any other travel agency. And then you can use your URs to pay for it. So I like I had booked Harmony of the Seas through RCCL and put the deposit on my Arrival + so I could erase it and now I am moving that cruise to Chase so I can use my URs to pay the balance. Since my PIF isn’t until early Dec 2019, I am asking to make a payment at that time rather than now since you only have one shot at using your URs towards the cruise. So if I had a balance that required 200k URs and I only had 150k, I could put them towards it and pay the remainder on my CSR. Typically, it seems like they want that payment at time of transfer. While most TAs don’t require payment until right before PIF.

I was thinking that I didn't give you enough credit over the weekend. 1 MILLION URs is nothing to joke about. I hope I didn't come off as dismissive. I've earned over a million URs since getting into this hobby, but I've never kept enough long enough to have my counter hit 7-digits. Chase has been good to us, and I'll keep earning and burning. I hope you find some fun ways to spend those million points soon.
Oh - totally didn’t take it that way. All fun my friend!! I’d bet @Andysol has me beat though in terms of earning last year. I did have some URs coming into the year from various Chase Freedom activities and some support clicks. It was definitely a great year. I benefited from strategizing to hit my MSRs primarily in bonus categories too. Of course some support clicks helped too as I really enjoy helping the new folks chart out those first 6-12 months!

1 million UR points is quite an achievement. I was so close to there until i redeemed a few award tickets.
Im still aiming for it though by the end of the year. 140k points left to hit 1 mill.

So, since product changing from Freedom to

Mefordis cards:
11/17 - CHASE United Personal
11/17 - BARCLAYS JetBlue Personal
11/17 - AMEX SPG Business*
12/17 - CHASE Freedom
12/17 - CHASE Marriott Personal
01/18 - CHASE Sapphire Reserve (AU)
05/18 - AMEX Hilton Business*
08/18 - CHASE Marriott Business*

5/24 with one as an AU card (potentially could remove this and dispute it) and 4 cards falling off in Nov/Dec.

Husband cards:
12/17 - BARCLAYS JetBlue Personal
01/18 - CHASE Sapphire Preferred
01/18 - CHASE Sapphire Reserve
03/18 - AMEX SPG Business*
05/18 - CHASE Marriott Personal
08/18 - CHASE Ink Preferred Business*
11/18 - CHASE United Personal

I appreciate your feedback. I think one (of several) errors I made was product changing from the CSP to the CF. I did it for the ability to earn more points in 5% categories, and we have. However, at the time I didn't think about the fact that I would lose my Ultimate Rewards account. I needed that in order to move dh's points to mine and vice versa. Once I product changed I lost that ability and needed his UR's to go into my United account, where most of our miles were sitting, to complete our airline ticket purchase.

If I removed myself as AU on the CSR, could I then apply for a CSP again, or even CSR for myself in Dec, when the Chase United falls off, opening up a 5/24 slot? If I was denied, I would still be without a UR account to move dh's points into but I could just use his United account, I suppose, until I am able to open another card.

A bit of a technical point here, on your Freedom card you didn't lose your UR account, you only lost certain functions of that account granted by having a premium card like the CSP. The Freedom still has a UR account and earns UR points, you just can't transfer them to partners or get increased value by using them on travel from that card. You can move those UR points between UR cards in the household with that Freedom card, it just wouldn't make sense for DH to send them to you. You could send all your Freedom points to DH and he could move them into his FF account to book travel, though.

So, if I managed to get myself removed from his CSR card as an AU, since my CSP (now closed) was open July 2016, I would then be eligible for another Sapphire bonus in July of 2020?

So is that Freedom card listed in 12/17 the PC'd CSP? Is that when you opened the CSP or when you PC'd the Freedom? If that's when you PC'd to the Freedom card then your card open date should still be listed as 7/16 and wouldn't count against your 5/24. You're still locked out of a Sapphire bonus until 2020 sometime, but could open you up to other cards before that. If I count right, then even with the AU still on your report you'd be 4/24 right now. For all the cards I see on your list a PC doesn't affect the open date of the account. Double check what your CR says for all these open dates. You might not be in as bad of shape as you think.

Well, doesn't Andy run his employer's expenses through his cards and gets reimbursed? That's the dream, my friend.

No those are Marriott points LOL! Down to 1.2MM though since I booked 2 trips this summer. I have 500k SW points.

Ok...now that you type it all out plus my soon to be 500k AA miles... I have a hoarding problem BIG TIME!!!

@MickeyMouseCD524 - to add on to @Alexle2007 's excellent explanation, the main reason you'd want to do this is if you have one of Chase's travel credit cards that get you better value for your UR points - the CSP, CSR, or CIP. Otherwise travel is still redeemed at the same value as cash on the other cards so there's no advantage to transferring the booking if you don't have one of those 3 cards. However if you do, it's worth the hassle if you can accumulate many UR's before booking it. With the CSR giving you 1.5 cpp on travel redeemed through their portal/TA, then 100,000 UR gets you $1,500 off your cruise. The CSP and CIP are "only" 1.25, but that still gives you $1,250 off the cruise from the same 100k UR redemption.
