I don't consider having a "home town" since I was born in Washington, DC, lived in Alexandria, VA for a few years, then spent most of my childhood in different places in TX and even a few years overseas.
My residence for the past 15 years is known as the Birthplace of Sweet Tea! The first tea plants were brought to the United States to a plantation here too. It is also known as the "Flowertown in the Pines" because of the azaleas that bloom every spring and because they were the first town in the US to pass laws against cutting down trees. In the 1800's people from Charleston and other locations would come here to improve their health, especially those with tuberculosis. More recently it's been famous for having the "winningest football coach" at any level in US history with over 600 wins- of course he coached the local high school football team for like 63 years, but still pretty impressive.
