POP or Coronado - Honeymoon

Good Afternoon!

We are planning spending 2 weeks at WDW in 2021 for our Honeymoon + a week at Universal.

We are undecided between POP or Coronado Springs. I like the idea of POPs Murphy Style Bed with the table and chairs as it mean we can easily eat in the room on the odd night when we dont want to go out. Whereas Coronado doesn't have this and the second bed feels like a waste of space for us.

We also like the skyline at POP as my fiance is a huge star wars fan so we'll spend a lot of time at Hollywood Studios.

However it doesn't feel right staying at, what is classed as, a value resort when you're on Honeymoon. From what I've read Coronado is a more adult hotel but transport and size wavers my preference.

We aren't fussed about dining plan and happy too skip this if POP is a better hotel although happy to take it if we are at Coronado.

We are in our late 20s, would like to be close to the main building (my partner likes being close to the bar!) And ideally would like stress free transport into the parks, although we will probably leave later in the day and come back as late as possible. We are more likely to spend our time in the parks/disney springs than in the hotel pool etc.

Any opinions would be such a help, as I don't have any prices to base my plans on.....yet!

We spent 2 weeks of our honeymoon at Coronado (after upgrading from Pop before the trip) best decision we made. Book a King Bed room at Coronado and there is a small table and chairs as well as a nice big king bed in the room. At least there was when we were there.

I guess if you're looking for something more adult than POP but still want Skyliner access why aren't you considering Caribbean Beach? It's less expensive than Coronado as well.

Sounds to me like a Deluxe Suite Club Level in the new Gran Destino Tower @ Coronado would fit a honeymoon experience just nicely :flower1: ... I didn't read anything about a budget soooooo

I honeymooned at Coronado for a week and loved it! We splurged for a king bed room and it was honestly incredible. We haven't been back since all of the rooms have been remodeled but we're planning on doing so for an anniversary trip in a few years!

We also did a few nights at Pop last year and kept the murphy bed up the whole time. It definitely made the room feel much larger and I'm returning to pop with a group of pals in just a few weeks. But for a honeymoon, Coronado - hands down.

Coronado 100% Just my hubby and i went last june for the first time for our 40th bdays and our honeymoon (18 years late) that we never got to take! Loved it there and all 4 of us are going back in 30 days for 2 weeks!

Definitely Coronado. It’s our favorite resort. More adult. We stayed Pop last trip and it was enjoyable, but definitely Coronado for honeymoon. Whatever you decide, best wishes for a long and happy life together!

Congrats OP! I say Coronado Over POP, but POFQ Over Both. It is a more romantic resort..easy access to Disney springs via boat, great ride! Walkable to POR. Both have in/out bars! Lovely resort
Wherever you end up, Enjoy!

Only do Pop! If you get a preferred non pool view room. I love Pop! and I’ve never stayed at Coronado but I want too and I think it would be better for a honeymoon. There are a lot more dining choices. Congratulations! enjoy wherever you go!

POP is decidedly not romantic but it's buses are good and nothing is too far from the main building; the same cannot be said about Coronado.

Another vote for Coronado here. Tower Club if you are not fussed about the dining plan. You can snack in the lounge and enjoy a practically new hotel!

I'm a huge POP fan but not for a honeymoon. I am not a fan of Coronado so if I was going moderate I would do POFQ or Riverside, with a slight edge to Riverside.

Stay at POP and use the money you save to do experiences... Wild Africa Trek, After Hours, Keys to the Kingdom..... Bottom line you will be together and enjoy the time - use the resort to sleep. (And relax at the pool bar with an adult beverage late at night!)
