Official Dancing With the Stars - Fall 2019

How can you know who you are voting for if you haven't seen them DANCE yet?

I think many people watch, having a few favorites in mind to vote for, depending on if they do well. Unless they are the absolute worst, :crazy2: and should go home first, one may throw them a few votes at the beginning, especially if there are others just as bad as their favorites, who could go home instead.

When Tony was still dancing as one of the pro dancers, I'd throw him a few votes in the early weeks to keep him around longer, even though he was always given bad contestants. :headache:

Jessica Simpson, rob Gronkowski, Camille Kostek all rumored

I wonder where these rumors came from! I would have liked to see Jessica Simpson. Gronk is always entertaining. I know Camille is Gronk's gifrlfriend and a model, but I'd question whether she carries enough "star power" for this. Not that all of the people who appear do. LOL!

I'm excited to see Hannah Brown, the Bachelorette. She's been one of the more popular leads in recent years, and she's very cute and bubbly. She also has a dance and pageant background. I'd expect her to go far.

Is she really? I hated her so much in her Bachelor season I didn’t watch her in her Bachelorette season.

I thought she was. She's herself - quirky, not afraid to be silly, not afraid to speak her mind. I respect that. She was more relatable than some other past leads, IMO. Especially post-show, she's spoken out about how hard the new life adjustments have been for her, and I felt for her when her engagement fell apart.

The Dancing With The Stars premiere is Monday, Sept. 16.

This first post will get updated as usual, as we get more info, like the official cast list and partnering, phone numbers & links to vote during the season, etc.

Mandy200587, our resident DWTS DIS detective, has been keeping her eyes peeled. :magnify: :cheer2:

The Stars & their Pro Partners:
(still coming. . . )

Hopefully, we will not have another Bobby Bones controversy this season. That still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth every time I see him now, as he's capitalizing on the publicity of being on the show.

Won't be watching since they decided to politicize the show. Not that I watched in the first place, but agree with most of the critics that political figures should not be on the show as the conversation will take away from the dancing.

Now if Spicer chooses to dance with a podium, I might take a peek at the comedic effort.

I’m sure ABC is loving the publicity. Personally, I hadn’t heard anything about DWTS since Marie Osmond fainted.

I don’t watch the show but I don’t remember anyone complaining about Rick Perry, Tom DeLay, Marla Maples, Bristol and Tripp Palin, Tucker Carlson or Geraldo Rivera competing as contestants.

Yes, some people should not be allowed to eat in restaurants or go to grocery stores either. Reminds me of a certain country in the late 1930's.

Guys, this thread is for fans of the show. We watch every season, every episode and enjoy talking to each other about it. Please don't come to this thread to start political discussions. Those of us that are here season after season really look forward to hanging out on this thread and discussing the show as a whole, not just one high-profile contestant. No politics. Please and thank you. :flower3:

The Stars: (All officially announced on GMA.)

Karamo Brown - TV host, culture expert on Queer Eye
Hannah Brown - the latest Bachelorette

They should do a show with every guest dancer have the same last name or same first name. That would be a hoot.

We may be getting an in-flow of non-viewers as as social media has blown up, with many people on other ABC shows and other networks, in a backlash over having Sean Spicer on the show. Even Tom Bergeron was very upset at Spicer being cast. People may peek into the thread to see what the hubbub is about.

On a funnier note: TMZ interviewed Sean Spicer as he came out of the Spanx store. :rotfl:The reporter asked if he was getting ready for the show. Spicer said, no, he was just looking around. :rolleyes1

He said himself that he's a horrible dancer, so we may not have to worry about him much longer. He will go as quickly as Rick Perry.

As usual, only about half the cast is familiar to me. My interest in the show has waned over the years. I still watch off and on, but consider it mindless entertainment and don’t really care who wins.

The inclusion of Spicer doesn’t bother me; they’ve had others with political connections before, including Bristol Palin, and ironically Marla Maples. Their idea of who qualifies as a “star” has always been questionable. I doubt he’ll go far, but it will be awkward now with Tom Bergeron doing interviews.

Guess I’ll be rooting for the older women: Christie, Mary, and the actress from The Office.

What does choosing not to watch a show on television have anything to do with the rights of people to eat in restaurants or go to grocery stores?

Makes absolutely no sense at all. Of course people should be able to shop or eat where ever they choose.

Call me confused at the comparison.

When the host of the show himself tweets his displeasure over the casting of an extremely controversial political figure and how it is going to change the discussion around the show, you are going to get comments about other's displeasure too. Saying you don't care for the choice of contestants because of the imminent backlash is not political.

But it will quickly dissolve into a debate like every other thread on the DIS that has even the slightest iota of politics involved. I don't want the thread to be locked. The regulars on this thread know how to discuss the show without politics. He's not the first controversial political figure on DWTS.

I come to this thread to escape all the crap in the real world. I'm going to do my best to ignore this guy until he gets voted off.

You make the case to keep talking about the show/dancing only, then you make ugly statements like this. So follow your own advice and stop it. Did you see his interview about being on the show? He is not bringing anything political into it, but others, who consider themselves to be compassionate, keep stirring the pot.

I am not understanding the uproar about Spicer. Other politicos have been on the show with little or any controversy.
There has been controversy in the past. Especially when those other political “celebrities” were kept around because of their political cachet. I’m looking at you, Bristol.

The difference, I think, is that Tom said something about it.

You were doing fine, Tink, until your last comment MADE IT POLITICAL! 🤦🏼‍♂️
