Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

NFLDERS, very sorry to hear about your Charlie.'s You have lost a buddy. Lots of wonderful memories over the past 8 years to cherish forever.

And remember, he will be there at the Bridge, playing, waiting......

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.

Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Somehow this thread stopped showing up in my alerts so I decided to track it down. Now I have mixed feelings. I'm glad to find you guys again, but I am so, so sad to hear about Charlie. to you, Jane. Thanks for sharing Charlie with all of us here. It always brightened my day to see his beautiful face and kind eyes.

Introducing 'SUMMER!'

This little pup will join our family on Labour Day week end. I was emotional, and tearful at seeing Charlie's father while at the breeder's home visiting Summer (she) will bring joy back into our lives again... sniff.20190817_143518.jpg

Just by for a quick update. We are in puppy mode! Charlie was older when we bought him. He had a heart murmur, and was not picked for a forever home. When we saw him, an older pup among the next litter we picked him. :)

So... puppy training and all that comes with this, is keeping us busy. Tee! Hee! Here are a few pictures of our girl Summer! :dog2:IMG_20190914_174221_974.jpgIMG_20190914_151426_062.jpgIMG_20190909_182240_149_resized.jpg

Oh gosh, Jane... Summer is adorable! Good luck being puppy-parents. Our close friends have always had Goldens, so I remember what it's like- frustrating, exhausting, and FUN (kinda like raising kids)!

Happy birthday, Dan... sorry I missed it. Also to WillyJ, wherever he may be (and anyone else with a summer birthday, don't want to leave anyone out!) :cake::cake::cake:

On the board last night I read about amberpi passing and am struggling. She and I shared some similar viewpoints, and we'd chatted a bit last summer as we were going to be at WDW during the same time period. We decided it was too complicated to try and meet up, and of course now I regret not taking the opportunity. For her to just be gone is... unsettling? As another poster said, how can you miss someone you don't know? And yet, we do get to "know" one another online, even though most of us have never met in real life. I don't know... I'm rambling here because even thought I'm not 'grieving' in the typical sense, I have an empty feeling, knowing I won't 'see' amberpi around the boards anymore.

Everyone have a good weekend, and appreciate what we all share. I know I do.

@NFLDERS, she is completely adorable!!!

@leebee, I get it. There are certainly people here that I feel are more "part of my life" than many "real" acquaintances. - I talk with you guys pretty much every day, while I might only run into local people I casually know once in a while.

Well said leebee! I feel so sad for her ( @amberpi ) and her family and even though I never met her I enjoyed reading her stories and points of view. I remember her saying she was writing a book about her life. I wonder if she ever finished it. Yesterday on that other thread I saw that the moderators had to shut down / edit some negative comments????? Ok - what did I miss? How can people do this? So unacceptable. I hope King Schultz is doing well. Miss his posts.
Thanks again leebee:flower:
