“Life is Grand, it Yacht to be, we are at Disney! 1/29 New TR link, a question, and this TR is complete!

Welcome to The most crowd MNSSHP we have ever experienced!!
I keep hearing this more and more...
After this year I will have to change love to loved.
:headache: Oh, no.
This is the only peanut she can be close to :rotfl:
she thought this was rather ironic.
:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: I love it!
There was more interactive characters on the ride than last year. There was a lady pirate with red hair yelling at Captain Barbosa and several more throughout the ride. I did enjoy this. We got more candy at the end of the ride.
I really think the whole interactive characters in POTC sounds like one of the coolest things about this party! I'd love to see that.
After the fun parade, we did BTMRR with no wait yay!
Finally something not super crowded!
We walked home from the Swan, we had to cut through some grassy areas. I was a little nervous of snakes since it was after midnight.:rolleyes2
Well, at least Disney keeps the grass short to reduce hiding places for them.

Yes it was a bummer, I thought for sure a Tuesday in August would not draw a huge crowd, I was wrong!!
Disney sure is trying to grab money for everything now! The tickets for the parks are so expensive and all the add ons now a days really can add up!

We are doing 1 more DAH at MK in January and I hope it is not oversold!

we did the MK after hours the same week we did MNSSHP in September and it was dead! So you should be good! Hopefully!

Andi was so funny, she was saying don’t look behind you mom, keep going mom, oh my gosh mom the crowds are coming, keep going don’t look back!:rotfl2: It reminded me of the scene from Jaws (my all time favorite movie by the way) when Charlie falls in and the guy on the dock keeps saying “swim Charlie swim, don’t look back”
Haha too funny! I love Jaws too

We finished up and paid for the meal and I had a little sticker shock!
We thought the lunch price was really high too! I don't remember what it was though, because we had free dining and just paid the tip.

You literally had to fight your way through crowds in most areas all night long.
Oh no! We must have gotten lucky at our party, it didn't seem too bad (but we'd never been before)

Love all the previous MNSSHP pics!

I have to, really a bummer. The crowded party takes away from the atmosphere so much!

This is really cool and they added more to it this year!
Finally something not super crowded!
Love BTMR at night and really love it as a walk on!
Well, at least Disney keeps the grass short to reduce hiding places for them.
Haha! It was a little creepy, there literally was no one around, how often can you say that at Disney!
we did the MK after hours the same week we did MNSSHP in September and it was dead! So you should be good! Hopefully!
I am hoping it will be. It is the first time in awhile it won’t be our travel day. This is nice we can actually rest up for it!!
Haha too funny! I love Jaws too
My family loves this movie, we all go around quoting from it when we all get together haha!
We thought the lunch price was really high too! I don't remember what it was though, because we had free dining and just paid the tip.
I may have to investigate the DDP again, it is way to much food for us but maybe a way to do more expensive meals less? It has never really been cost effective for us but you never know!
Oh no! We must have gotten lucky at our party, it didn't seem too bad (but we'd never been before)

Love all the previous MNSSHP pics!
Lucky for you with low crowds, my experience seems to be more of the norm unfortunately!

Hello Everyone!
I hope this Sunday is going well for all of you. I wanted to thank you all for the wonderful comments and let you know how fun it is chatting with you all.

I have some exciting news about my January trip. I was checking prices this morning on the Disney website and found The Destino Tower for about $160.00 a night with a water view. I jumped on this for our last 4 nights at WDW.
This sounded like a great AP price for a recently opened resort. I have heard wonderful things about this place. I am excited for our stay. We had a reservation at Pop Century, however, the Destino was not much more so pretty easy decision.
My main reason for the Pop stay was using the Skyliner as a form of transportation but I am sure we will use this a few times from the parks. I found from our last stay at CSR, the resort is in a great spot and close to several parks. This will allow us to use Lyft/Uber at reasonable costs. I am happy with this change!

Our FASTPASS day is on 11/15/19. I will update on here how I fare on the FP front! We are doing a HEA dessert party and DAH at MK as our extras this trip. I have just a few TS reservations at this point. We plan to spend time at Disney Springs and will try some restaurants there. Okay, on with our August trip.............

Today was August 21st, it was Wednesday and we were moving to The Grand today. Initially we had breakfast plans at BonVoyage and we decided to cancel the day before. The pricey cost of yesterday’s breakfast was something we didn‘t want to repeat. We had canceled the day before to avoid the charge. We leisurely packed and said our goodbyes to The Yacht Club. I think most of you know, we loved the YC, our room was in the perfect location. The room was a nice size, clean, quiet, great balcony, and very comfortable beds. I would definitely recommend this resort. The lobby is very nice and there was always fruit infused water in the lobby everyday. The staff were pleasant and the location is so great. This is my top deluxe resort right now! Way more pros than cons for me.
We gave our luggage to bell service and went out to the bus area. We decided to spend some time at Disney Springs. We arrived in DS around 10:30 and headed to Uniqlo. We love this store. Andi found several new T-shirts for an excellent price. She got a couple different colored pocket Tees with Mickey on the pocket. I can’t believe I didn’t buy myself anything this morning. I couldn’t decide so left empty handed  We had plans to try the Polite Pig for lunch. I read about the macaroni and cheese and knew Andi would like this. I got the brisket with mac and cheese, coleslaw, and cornbread. This was so good. The brisket was smoky, tender, and very flavorful.

The Mac and cheese was so delicious. It was creamy and very tasty. Andi had the mac and cheese and the waffle fries, she enjoyed both. We had ice water to drink since it was very hot again.

We decided to walk around some more and stop in World of Disney. Andi found a sweatshirt she loved and another T-shirt.

Andi and Jack wanted me to pick something out for my Birthday. Andi had tried to order me a gift from the Disney store online except it was back ordered and eventually discontinued. They owed their mom a gift. I picked a cute lantern with the castle on it and put a battery operated candle in it. I really like it. The CM wrapped it up really well for the trip home.

There was a wonderful musician outside in the market place and he was singing a really cool and bluesy rendition of the Bare necessities of Life. I loved his voice and the cool way he was singing some favorite Disney songs. We went in the Christmas store and Art store after the music.

I love this print!
It was time for ice cream next. Ghiradelli brownie sundae was our choice. We shared this and it was so delicious.

We chilled for a little before we decided to head out. We did stop and buy Andi a new Vera Bradley wallet, hers had seen better days. I had not received a text for our room yet, we decided to head out and hope it was ready when we got to the Grand. I went to check in upon arrival and our room was ready. It was no where close to what I requested:confused3 It was in Sago Cay facing the interior of the resort. I had requested Conch Key facing the water, oh well it was on the upper floor so that was a plus. Sago Cay is close to the bus stop, the QS, and main building. Our room was very nice and clean. We had the vaulted ceilings which is a plus.

The room did seem smaller than the YC, maybe because of the carpeting? The wood floors at YC and the corner room definitely felt larger. We rested for awhile and our luggage was brought up. I was texting with Doc and Tracy, the plan was to meet up with them at AK later today. Doc had made his famous cheesecake for us. What a nice gesture, he sure didn’t have to do this.
Stay tuned for another fun Dis meet, a scary moment, and Yak and Yeti! Oh and total disclaimer I messed up saying the Rhino tour was coming up, it is on the next day of the trip, sorry!

Nice! Good for you! :)

I totally get that!!
This is my top deluxe resort right now!
High praise! :)

Holy cow... uh... um...
I mean, wow! That looks amazing!
The Mac and cheese was so delicious. It was creamy and very tasty.
I'm drooling...
Pretty. :)
I love this print!
Did you get it?

Well, that's unfortunate.

I looooove mac and cheese. Still haven't tried Polite Pig will have to add this to my ever growing list of places to eat

Wow, that is a great price!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see what you think of it

Yum this looks so good. And better than mine as coincidentally we just made brisket and mac and cheese for dinner tonight. Though I'm sure Polite Pig can outdo the Tipsy Cook any day of the week

Love this! Great pick

I love this print!
I hadn't seen this one. Love all the vintage stuff. We are in the process of finishing our basement in a 60's/70's retro style (the space walk scene in Space Ship Earth is our inspiration). This print would be perfect for it.

Such fun photos down memory lane! Loved that!

Hot diggity!! Nice find!

Boy, that sure looks good!

It was in Sago Cay facing the interior of the resort. I had requested Conch Key facing the water, oh well it was on the upper floor so that was a plus. Sago Cay is close to the bus stop, the QS, and main building.
That's where we stayed too and I sure did love how close it was to everything. And it was quiet despite.

Awesome deal!!

I think your GF room may have been one of the dormer rooms which are a little smaller than the regular rooms. I do love the vaulted ceilings though. :)

What a great deal on the Destino Tower! It will be so fun to stay there - and you're right, CSR is ridiculously centrally located and super close to three of the four parks! I really enjoyed the proximity to the parks when I stayed there.

That sounds like a great morning at Disney Springs! Your lunch at Polite Pig looks SO good! I love a good brisket!

It's a bummer that you didn't get your requests at the Grand Floridian, but I hope you ended up enjoying your room location. I stayed in Sago Cay when we stayed at GF in 2015 and loved that it was so close to the main building (and close to the best spot to watch the MK fireworks). Perhaps they thought they fulfilled your water request with the "view" of the inlet of the Seven Seas Lagoon? Nonetheless, the GF is a beautiful resort no matter where your room location!

Nice! Good for you
I was surprised the Destino tower had such good pricing especially for the water view
Holy cow... uh... um...
I mean, wow! That looks amazing!
This was really good and I could finally have some meat! :hyper:
I'm drooling...
I highly recommend the Mac and cheese, it is a smaller portion, perfect for a side or snack!
Did you get it?
No I just loved it because of the people mover theme, favorite ride!
Believe it or not... I have never been there.
Okay, your Plan next time at DS, Polite Pig with dessert at Ghiradelli
Well, that's unfortunate.
I know! I was fine with our room, however, I think I am giving up on the TP fax system, my requests have been ignored the last several times. I am trying the Disney system this time to compare if I have better luck. Do you remember the room you and your daughter had at OKW? We will be there our first part of January trip. I want to be close to the hospitality house.

I looooove mac and cheese. Still haven't tried Polite Pig will have to add this to my ever growing list of places to eat
This Mac and cheese is really good! You can just order this as a snack if you want, very good. I always have a huge list of new items to try.

I agree, I was excited and it’s a water view, yay!

I am sure yours was delicious! This place was very good, I could tell the Mac and cheese was homemade
Love this! Great pick
It is so pretty at night with the candle in it, it has the castle on all sides

This would be perfect for your basement theme. It was in the Co-op area at Marketplace
Hot diggity!! Nice find!
It is more than Pop of course but really not by much and so grand looking!
Boy, that sure looks good!
This was a good place to try, I would eat here again
That's where we stayed too and I sure did love how close it was to everything. And it was quiet despite.
It was nice and quiet, such a plus
Awesome deal!!
I‘m excited to stay here especially with a water view, yay

Ahh, you are right. I have read about the dormer rooms. It was, we did love the vaulted ceiling, however, it was smaller. With just two of us, it was okay.

Nice Halloween party photos from past years! I loved your BB-8 and Rey costumes!

How exciting to be able to switch to Destino for such a reasonable price! I hope you enjoy it there.

Too bad your Grand room wasn’t anything like what you requested. But it still looked like a nice room from your pictures :)

So kind of Doc to make one of his cheesecakes!
