Men.... what do you want for Christmas. Some of you are difficult to buy for...

My husband is tough too! He always gives me ideas, but they’re things like socks, gloves, underwear, etc. I get them for him, but it’s not very exciting.
I try to come up with creative ideas that he’s not expecting. This year I bought a big map of the world that we can put colored pins on to show where we’ve been. He travels for work, so I know he’s going to like it. He also loves craft beer, so I’ll get him some of that too.

Not all men will go for this but many of them probably should: gift certificate for a pedicure. Most men’s feet are a horror show, especially in the winter. My DH would never seek this out on his own but when I gift it to him, he gets it done and appreciates it. I’m not a spa person myself but if any of you are, maybe make it a couples thing.

If you don't already have Yeti cups, this is a great idea. My DH has the 32 oz and the 20 oz and uses them both almost daily. He takes both to work - ice tea in the big one and coffee in the smaller one.

My DH loves his Yeti!

(And you could wrap some fun coffees with it.)

My BIL got my husband a gift certificate at the car dealer to detail his car . That was nice they even shampooed the carpets.

Ohh, another good idea!

If the man in your life hikes, my DH loves his day hiking backpack with a water sack that attaches to it. Osprey is the brand.

I mean it doesn't have to be objects right? We have 4 kids and presents that consist in time spent with friends or special time together with baby sitting arranged is always very appreciated. Maybe you can get tickets to see a game with his friends, or a night out with his friends? Or something special to do with you like a day or night getaway? It is really the thought that counts. I still tell my husband that the best present he has ever given me was a box full of pink mentos. He had gone through packs and pack of mentos just to find my favourite pink ones❤️

A few years ago when my DH had a long commute I got him a 3 month trail subscription to Audible. He was dubious when he opened the gift but years later, he still listens and, now so does the entire family. I'm considering a subscription to Great Courses for Father's Day.

This year, I got him a new leather jacket (his year's old one has a big rip), a headphone stand so his headphones don't get lost under the covers, and a valet tray that will wirelessly charge his iphone and hold his glasses and watch so that don't get knocked off his nightstand.

:scared1:

I'd be more insulted with that than with a Peloton.

My partner and I get several his and his pedicures throughout the year, especially during those cold winter months! Excellent idea, IF your man is willing! Many guys’ feet in the parks ( where I’m more apt to notice them while killing time in queues) are ghastly.

So not to get too graphic here but Game of Thrones?

“There are other ways to serve you...”

No, I don’t need to tell you this thing I want to buy right now but instead you want to buy it for me later, pretend like I don’t know, charge it to our joint credit card and then later auto paid with our joint checking account...

I have a husband and 2 adult children, we decided a few years back that we were over the list making and holiday gift exchanging between us. Everyone buys what they want or need, when they want or need it and gift buying was stressful. We make sure to have a yearly experience or trip now instead of gifts and we are all very happy with that. We also support various charitable causes between us. I know our solution doesn't work for everyone, though we've been very happy with it.

The first year we went with no gifts, we tried doing silly stockings. The following year, no one even wanted to do that again.

My husband and I stopped buying Christmas gifts for each other a couple years before that, including birthdays and anniversaries. That worked for us too. We still celebrate them, go out to nice dinner, just no gifts.

We fondly remember gift giving when the kids were young, times were simpler and we didn't have so much. Now we all feel like we have too much, so this is what we prefer.

My husband & I don't really buy each other anything for Christmas anymore because we go to the beach for Christmas & normally end up doing a little shopping while there. The beach town where we go has a men's clothing & shoes store that DH loves. He always gets something there.

However, I like having something for him to open while we're celebrating Christmas w/ our immediate family.

This year, I have a book for his stocking. He was kinda intrigued by curling in the last winter Olympics, so I also got him this game as a "fun" thing -

Curling Game

If your husband doesn't have a Yeti, that would be a great gift - maybe one of the smaller coffee-sized ones packaged w/ some coffee.

I also like Snorg Tees, & I think they have some Star Wars tees like this one -

Star Wars Tee

They have lots of other funny & sarcastic tees as well.

Pop Colors has a set of colored pencils w/ Star Wars-themed color names -

Star Wars Pencils

(I got my kids the "Friends" themed ones.)

And, for whatever reason, my husband LOVES flashlights - the $$$ kind. He's always excited to get a new flashlight.

My husband is a firefighter w/ a nuclear company, & I got him a firefighter ornament for his stocking one year.

How about some action? Most men would welcome that. That would beat more crap he won’t use or wear.

;) So many outrages, so little time...

My DH would not take kindly to the notion that our intimate endeavours are a special gift from me to him, instead of just a normal, healthy part of our happy marriage.:confused3 I feel the same way about him taking out the garbage.

Hubs and I don't do the gift swapping anymore but my family invites us over and they like to have gifts for us both so I get the task of doing THEIR shopping for my husband which is easy to me but to them is like some kind of torture. Hubs doesn't drink, watch sports, exercise, wear cologne or scents, have any huge fandom of anything, and he has skin issues so we have a 'no clothes' rule for him. He has to buy very specific stuff.

So, going down my usual list of things I've directed them to buy him. New video games, decor for his office, CD's of bands he likes, movie tickets, I'll check all his favorite authors to see if they have any new books, I'll get collections of comics, Gotten him routers keyboards and computer mice, transformers, puzzles, Headsets for his conferencing, Hot sauces fo him to try, dark chocolates, a dremel rotary tool for when he does do house projects, fidget toys for his desk, warm couch blankets, new pillows for the bed, DVD's, and on rare occasion a piece of clothing if I can see it first so I know it will work and the material is okay.

My husband is terribly difficult to buy for. We are only buying each other one gift under $50. (We are spending $ on a Disney trip early next year) Also we exchanged names and my sister needs ideas too, she has to buy for my husband. Trying to not buy a gift card.
He has plenty of stuff for his favorite football team. Only hobby is fishing occasionally. Is a firefighter. Likes: Star Wars and action movies, coffee, music. Any ideas.

Get him an Opinel No. 6 pocket knife with the carbon blade. Even if the guy already has a pocket knife he uses, he will love this gift. They have been made in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, Savoie, France since the company was founded 129 years ago. They are simple, elegant knives with a fantastic steel blade. Easily one of the best pocket knives ever made.

And they cost about $15 ea.

This year for the men in my family I’ve been considering these:

Disney gift cards
Sirius Radio subscription
Fishing shirts (bought)
New iPad (old one working but won’t take software updates anymore)
Rounds of golf
Golf equipment
“Experience” tickets
Car wash book

If you have a local library before paying for a subscription to The Great Courses Plus check to see if they have it. Our local library does and by downloading the Kanopy app (to my phone and my Roku smart TV) you can take out up to 10 items per month including all the courses they offer. Not to take away a gift idea but hey if you can access it legally for free why pay more?

:thumbsup2That can be a gift in itself. Our library system no longer charges for membership but some do. I gave my BIL a library card (to his local system) and showed him how to access the on-line catalog and download e-books a couple of years ago. It was a hit!!
