Am I math-ing right? 11 BG per hour today? If so, AWESOME! Fingers crossed for some consistent improvement around here.

So I apologize for this being late but I thought I would go over out RoR experience. So we were at HS on 2/11/20. So we left from Port Orleans, French Quarter side about 6:45am they told me the 1st bus 6:15 but figured we should be OK as long as we got on the 2nd or 3rd bus. I know after we got down to the bus stop at 6:40 alot more people started showing up where I feel would have waited there were enough people to fill at least two buses up.
Made it to HS by 7am we had 5 adults and 5 kids in out group with 2 of the adults having bags, it was busy at the bag check but by no means crowded or that I was concerned how long it might take us to get in. I believe we were all in by 7:15-7:20am. After that we headed to Hollywood and Vine as we had breakfast scheduled for 8:05 am.
So about 7:50 I went ahead and had my wife log on under my account since I had the entire group under my account. We both have Apple XS phones and had the wifi turned off, she was on the porch of Hollywood and Vine and I was just on the street. The plan was for her to be in already in the app and to refresh where my plan was to wait and start the app at 7:59:48 to start that app since it seem to take about 12 seconds to start the app and I was having good luck with that procedure.
Well all went to plan, I hit select all and the on the bottom I got the message that something went wrong We're having trouble connecting. Please try again. Obviously I went into general concern and kept hitting the refresh button but kept getting the same thing, at this point I was probably 30 seconds into and was getting more worried and upset but remembered what I read on here about taking a screen shot then showing one of the cast members. Finally after refreshing again it went through but said I needed to take myself off, I couldn't figure out why but started thinking maybe that was the issue maybe my band did not scan correctly at the gate. So I figured take my self off get everyone else hopefully a pass and deal with it later, so I did that it went trough and ended up getting boarding pass 107. Obviously happy but a little disappointed at the same time but I figured I would find a cast member and they would be able to help me. So I wanted to go back to find the restaurant to meet up with my group to let them know what was going on. Well on the way back I checked on the app and somehow I by myself got a boarding pass #6 but the rest of the group at 107. So after realizing this and a moment of joy I found where they had set up a couple of cast members I am pretty sure just to deal with this. I talk to a very nice individual named Shevy went over my issue showed him the error message and he said no problem and told me he could give the rest of the group a boarding pass 8 since they had already called 6, I just needed my group so he could scan the bands. I said the only issue was they were probably all setting down eating but i would figure out something. Went I got back to the restaurant I decided at least hoped I could just take all their bands and just do it that way. So I did, went back over he scanned them and said all was good, talk about being relieved. So I headed back over so I could actually sit, relax and a actually eat. Well got my plate, sat down and thought I am going to just check one more time, looked and to my surprise i was on group 6, most of my party was on 8 but 4 people were still on 107. So once again ran back over where by this time the line had gotten a lot longer with people having issues, so I talked to the lady who was keeping the line in order told her I was just here and she let me go right over to guy I was dealing with since this was my third visit. Shevy was surprised that the rest of my group was not in the BP #8 I did have with me just the bands of my group that had not moved over to the new group, he had fixed in about 2 minutes refreshed it and all was good and I could actually eat breakfast.
After thinking about it, I wondered if the issue was that since my wife was signed into my account and that for some reason that caused an issue. I do think that when she was trying to get the BP that she did not select all and that is why it just scheduled me and that had to remove myself. Though I think the error message was unrelated to that.
All and all the process is very stressful especially when that process is either all or nothing outcome. I will say that Shevy who helped me was awesome.
Lastly and most importantly the ride was AWESOME

I wonder how the transition from the VQ to FP will be. Hope there is enough of a heads up given from Disney. Traveling in April so I am sure it can happen before that. Imagine the flip of the switch before your trip. It will change everything I have been planning for. Hopefully they can come up with a hybrid system.

Same here, end of April/May. I pick my FP this week but once done ill be obsessively stalking in case they suddenly add it and I need to get one quick!

I'm going the same time. I'm not sure what would be better because if I missed a fastpass that would be disappointing especially since I'd need 6.
I think my preference is better reliably leading to more boarding groups and it going back to if you're in the park you're good.

What time are people getting to HS if they aren’t concerned with getting in line for SDD standby? We are only worried about the boarding pass. I was thinking of calling an Uber at 6:45, getting in the car around 7, and getting to HS about 7:15. This is for an 8 am opening. Thoughts? Thanks!

At 6:45am the Lyft was having a hard time finding drivers because so many people were doing the same thing. We had tried since 6:30 to get one and finally boarded one at 6:59am, plus the driver’s app kept pinging with new rides. There is also a lot of traffic to account for at that time. At 6:15, we had no trouble getting a ride.

I figured it out. They had to shut it down a little while to send some CMs over to Epcot to help out at Journey into Imagination w/Figment. 65 minute wait time compared to 50 for Soarin'.

So today was finally our turn. I wanted to come here and post all the technicalities of our experience but the truth is I had dreams last night of not getting a BG and when the time came I panicked and just jumped on my phone hit the Find out More Button. Got the wheel of death circle when I went to choose my party but by some miracle got BG 23. We were called by 8:58am and off the ride by 9:45. It was totally worth all of it.
FWIW we were standing in the overflow line at SDD. Got to the park around 6:45am.

Y'all, can I just say, this trip has been so unlucky ride-wise! Tuesday was my FOP fastpass, ride was down and didn't come back up before we had to leave for an ADR dinner, there was the whole BG debacle (once my fault, once not), and then tonight we took the "safe" route and just Fastpassed Figment for the end of our last world showcase circuit tonight, and we got there and the ride was down!! Even Figment is not safe!! Mostly I'm posting this here because I know y'all have been following along with me but also just as a kind of reminder that if you can't guarantee yourself a ride on Figment, you have to go in knowing you can set yourself up for success but you may not ride ROTR.

Even with all our foibles (this trip was packed with them), we had a blast and I'm glad I made an effort to get a BG without ruining the whole trip over trying to get one. GE is super impressive even just to walk through!

that's the point! there is always the possibility that a favorite attraction will be unexpectedly down, or that a CM here or there won't be quite up to snuff, or in our case, eating at our favorite restaurant, where the CMs are always amazing and unfortunately on this occasion the CM was a flaming 'rhymes with pitch".....but despite all that, the overall trip is magical and in the end, when we look back and reminisce, those few glitches are the ones that make us laugh the most......

It's called AtomicClock no space. It's connected to the NTP that time.gov uses and also tells you how far your phone time is behind or ahead (usually just a fraction of a second). The app looks different than the widget does, but it does have a widget that can run on your screen.

I don‘t see why there should be an advantage having everyone signed into the same account. My Friends and Family Group includes just me, my wife, our 3 daughters and a son in law, and we all have our own MDE accounts with the same FFG.

Over Marathon Weekend, the subset of the Group that was in the park tried for BGs using our own accounts (once with a family member that was still at home helping) and that worked fine.

I have been successful in getting BG 16, and 19 this week, even having to select from the list.
We are heading to MK today, leaving about 8:30, so willing to help with what has worked for me.

I suppose it's no different than having bg 65 when it stops at 64, except with 65, you may have had high high hopes of riding all day whereas with 133, you knew it was less likely.

Yeah, but I feel like if you did have 133 and you saw it slowly creeping up and up, 100...110...120...you'd get your hopes up, only to see how close you really were....

First day having my husband practice. He is the least tech savvy out of all of us, but he got in this morning while I was glitched and couldn't get join OR my status to work. Really glad we have begun his Jedi training.

Me too...I was like "What splash at HS?"

I just did the test this morning. Of course I'm in an office with one other person right now on a Wi-Fi I just installed this week, so no network issues

At least on Android, if I was on the My Status screen, where there is only the "Join Boarding Group" button, it stayed greyed out, and if I pulled down to refresh after it ticket over it seemed to hang. But I went back to the previous screen, and THAT button was now red and available and I was able to get in. At 8:03 it was still available.

So they must have bumped up capacity after yesterday. I had regular groups until 8:01:30. Backup groups still open as of 8:04
