Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

Has anyone ordered the large pizza dinner from the food court and picked it up? It says "2 adult meals will be redeemed." Is that quick-service or table-service credits? Can we use Mobile Order for that?

My family did this last September. Used mobile order, and it was 2 adult QS credits.

Hi all - I'm currently booked for 3 nights in All-Star sports for a weekend in May. I'm contemplating switching to AoA but it would cost more than double for the room only to stay in a Little Mermaid room. Worth it or no?

Depends on what matters most to you. The Skyliner has been called a "game changer" by many who have stayed at one of the resorts along the line. Most LM rooms should be done with their refurb by then, so you would likely have 2 queen beds instead of 2 double beds, plus a coffee maker in the room (big deal for some, makes no difference for others). If you have plans to spend a lot of time at Epcot or DHS, that skyliner access could be very worth it.

Yeah, that's what I'm struggling with. We stayed at Sports in January for the first time and really didn't love it by any means. We ended up taking a bunch of Ubers as to not deal with the buses, so wondering if it's worth switching for the skyliner. Coffee machine makes no difference but 2 queen beds or a King would be much nicer than the 2 fulls.

If it would cost more then double to switch, then no. It would not be worth it. But if you don’t love Sports, why not Music, Movies or Pop?

If the LM room is double Sports, you might want to check availability for a standard room at a moderate.

None of the other All-Stars are showing availability on the dates I'm going and AoA was the next cheapest.

It might be useful for you to compare your expected cost of Ubers against the change in hotel prices.

We stayed in a refurb'ed room in November, Car Suites Building 3. The storage underbed is very nice to have. Unsure if the television was also a part of the upgrade as well, because since being home and watching YouTubers, it seems non-refurb'ed rooms have a smaller sized tv.

Why was I looking for videos? We hated the hard rubber mat flooring in the room. At that time we were totally unaware of refurbs occuring. So I scratched my head at the flooring in the room. It made everything so loud and echoey. With excited kids, it made it even worse. I swore to my wife it was carpet when we stayed in 2013, so I went searching online once home and sure enough the flooring change is in the refurb. Only then I realized we had been in a refurbished room. The old carpeting was much more Cars themed than black rubber matting.

Skyliner is a game changer and I did some AoA pricing for my sister's family by calling the 407 Disney booking number. The CM on the phone said Skyliner was driving much interest in the hotels on the Skyliner route. I believe it.

Edit: unsure why the double post. Sorry!

Last trip we spent under $100 on Uber so it still doesn't balance out changing hotels. After thinking about it more, pretty sure we'll stick with sports and put that extra money towards After Hours or something!

I just head that the Cars Suites are pet friendly, but the Lion King suites are not. Is this true? We booked a Cars Suite because I liked the theme more, but we are also traveling with a family member who has both dog allergies and asthma so I am thinking of switching to the Lion King suites if this is true to avoid irritating her.

Not sure about which building, though I think I've heard Cars. But you can also call and ask to have an allergy cleaning done on your suite before you check in, which you might want to do no matter what.

There were definitely dogs (pets, not service animals) in LK building 6 when we were there in 2018. There can be service animals in *any* building at any resort. I'd request an allergy cleaning on your room prior to arrival if you're concerned about it.

Have they fixed the horrible Internet coverage at AoA yet? Last year, was horrific, couldn’t get coverage o/s lobby, made ordering minivans next to impossible.

Woohoo, I'll be at AOA at the end of the month with my sister (3/27-3/30)! I need to figure out if it'll be cheaper to order instacart to our resort, or to take an uber to Publix. We just want some snacks & stuff so I don't mind spending the time doing it....and I feel like I read previously that Disney resorts charge you if you do a delivery service in addition to the service charging you. Off to read the FAQ thread!

In January, we did a delivery to All-Star Sports through Garden Grocer and there was no fee from the hotel, just from GG.
