I need my roots done and the split ends trimmed but that wont be happening for a while. Its better 6 feet apart than 6 feet under!! Buy hey I guess you will look good in ICU!

thats ok, Im a big boy. There isnt anything illegal about getting a haircut.

I'm sitting here having sheer indecisiveness about my own haircut. My stylist works at a very busy salon, which is closed. She hasn't worked in about 3 weeks and is now taking selected clients in her basement, at home. My short haircut takes her about 10 minutes to cut. I'm thinking of going there with my hair washed and wet, let her cut, then leave. But I feel guilty. We will both have masks on, which I know isn't perfect, and my risk is that I don't know who she's been in contact with and she doesn't know my contacts. But dang, it seems FAR less risky than my recent experiences in the grocery store.

It would be a one-on-one meeting which doesn't violate anything, I don't believe, but I'm still not sure if I'll do it. I don't care what I look like right now, but I sure will care when I get called back to work. My friend and I joked that we won't report to work until we can get our hair done first and that could take weeks before the stylist has an opening!

Eh, I think I can wait. But not going anywhere except the grocery store once in a while, so who cares? My dog loves me regardless. However, my 89 yo mom who I can talk to by FaceTime only since 2/12 has told me, what’s the matter, can’t you brush your hair? I’ll wear a hat the next time.

Well then you should be able to sit proudly in your stylists chair. Turn on the lights, music and get a "real" haircut.
Or is there a legal reason you're looking for underground haircare?

Most of us understand why we are ok with doing without salon visits. And it's a miniscule sacrifice in the big picture.

Well if nothing else you gave me an good idea for today OP. I’m going to ask my DD17 to give me a haircut later today. Just take a few inches off nothing fancy. We both have the day off today since the grocery store we work at is closed today for Easter Sunday.

How my hair looks isn't even in my top 100 things I care about right now. Rocking the ponytail or messy bun. I have a bit more gray they I've ever realized, but whatever. I color my hair more for fun than to hide anything.

DH has really thick hair and gets annoyed when it gets too bushy. I expect one morning he'll come out of the bathroom with his hair buzzed off.

My husband has the opposite issue, really bald on top, but now shaggy around sides and back. It’s going to be the aging hippy look if this continues much longer. He has a very nice Panama hat to wear when we get to go out anywhere he can’t wear his LSU baseball hat until he gets a cut.

My hairdresser has offered to drop off supplies (no contact on my porch) and then we can do a zoom call and she will walk be through covering my roots. And then I can Venmo her $$. No gathering. Not contact. I don’t really care about my roots right now but I may opt to do it in a few weeks so she can have some income. She won’t let me pay ahead for a service etc.
