Thousand flock to Florida Beaches

Now that things are starting to re-open (slowly, at least in Texas - which is how it should happen), people are going to need childcare again. I got a call today that my daycare is opening again on May 4th. Daycare (any daycare) is one of the most germ filled places I can think of. No matter how much the workers clean, kids are little walking petri dishes. And at least with the younger kids, social distancing is not going to be possible. Babies have to be fed, babies and toddlers have to be changed. Of course workers will wear masks and gloves, but masks aren't recommended for little kids.. Unless there are literally one or two kids per room, I don't see anyway to keep the kids from flocking to each other. So the kids are going to be carrying any germs back to their parents and families. But unless people have childcare, nothing is going to be able to start back up.

Vegas is closed. Lol

If they & other cities were open, people would stop spouting the nonsense about Covid-19 being less fatal than the flu. It's less fatal, because we've been in shutdown. When was the last time you were in shutdown, due to the flu? Hopefully, sunshine & warmer temps will save us. If not, many places are in trouble.

It is looking like May 15 for the casino if Wynn has anything to do with it
With very strict measures in place. All guests will be required to wear masks, strict social distancing in place at all times and they will be doing temperature checks upon entry. Doesn't sound like a fun way to visit a casino. If that's the way things have to be so places of large gatherings can open, I doubt people will be rushing to go.

Isn't the Georgia governor the one who announced that he just found, 24 hours before he shut the state down, that the virus could spread by people with no symptoms?
Hopefully someone explains to him what contact tracing teams are. His state is going to need a lot of them, pronto.

I wonder when Pence will explain to him the concept of a downward curve and how to count to 14. Georgia doesn’t even pass the first test.

If schools are closed and daycares are closed where are people sending their kids when they return to work.

this is going to be a **** show.

This is like in the scene of Jaws, the mayor (cough cough) is trying to get people to go back into the water with Jaws still there, just saying.. ok mayor (cough cough) you go in first and see what happens.

Good luck Georgia, because dang!

You might be surprised. A stunningly large portion of our population still thinks this is some kind of overblown media invention.
We thrive on conventions. People stopped coming before the shut down. Kitchen staff was down to a skeleton crew in most places and restaurants closing early. Some casinos shut down before Sisolak gave the order. It seems like a noble act but they were bleeding money. It’s cheaper to close down vs stay open with no business. People will come, sure, but not enough to sustain the cost of being open. At least not yet.

You keep hearing about having to wipe down seats at theatres, and wear masks everywhere just to have to be able to start to get back to normal. To me that sounds like a lot of work to enjoy something.

True, however since there isn't a vaccine yet, masks, continual sanitizing may be the norm until a vaccine.

Right? Honestly I don’t know how Vegas will do it. Casino chips, cards, buttons and screens on thousands of machines. Restaurants, bars, bowling alleys, movie theaters, show venues all in one place. I can’t even wrap my head around it.
