Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

so would they refund those who already purchased park hoppers....what about purchases from outside companies like Undercover tourist?
I don't see them discontinuing park hopping for that exact reason. We have seen 1 version of reserved park days in the US (Disneyland Flex AP) and it lets people reserve for both parks if they want.

Wow! Is the situation in France that much worse? I haven’t been following.

Better recovery methods than WDW too. The option to choose a refund, voucher, but especially the option to rebook a similar holiday at the same price is nice.
The situation in France itself is looking much better than the US. It’s curve is actually going down, not holdIng steady. I’d guess they are holding back for other reasons.

They're at 380.82 deaths per million. The US is at 216.92.

However, they're at about 1,100 new cases per day with a peak of 7,578 new cases per day. The US is at about 22,400 new cases per day with a peak of 36,137. It looks like things are getting better there but they are being more cautious with the situation. The US is not being cautious.

Agree! The option to get rebook a similar trip for the same price is fantastic! I would love to get this option for my planned WDW trip that is scheduled for June.

I can't imagine refillable mugs (or popcorn containers for that matter) will be allowed. Hope they do something else for those on the dining plan that includes that like unlimited beverages that would normally go in the mugs.

I guess for the popcorn they could give you the new popcorn in a normal container and leave it to you to pour it into your bucket...

I would think they could do a "virtual Refillable Mug" that showed up on your magic band. Scan your band at your resort QS and the CM gives you the drink of your choice in a single-use cup. You could still have the physical mug as a souvenir, and pour your served beverage into it if you want.

And round and round we go again.

I am not scared. I want this to be as painless as it can be. I want us to be able to safely resume life sooner than later. Companies taking precautions to prevent spread helps all of us as a society. This is not about getting sick on an individual level.

If personal responsibility and worrying about yourself was all that mattered Disney would already be open.
It’s not b/c it’s not all that matters as much as it is because so many ppl don’t believe that it’s all that matters & rely on the government, companies, etc to keep them safe. So to appease these ppl in the court of public opinion, Disney & other companies have to do what they can to at least appear to be trying to keep ppl safe.

They did this regularly at SSR last year- if you had a mug on your band, they just gave you a cup vs. needing to go back to the room and get the mug- saved trips since that resort is so large!

so they just canceled everyone through May 31st...but you can book starting June 1? makes no sense. They need to make some sort of announcement with a timeline or stop taking reservations.
They’ve made an announcement. It’s that they’re closed indefinitely. They’re going week by week and canceling reservations as they decide to remain closed. It’s not like their original announcement was that we’re closed through 5/10 and now they’re extending it with no further announcement. Indefinitely is indefinitely. They’re covered.

Correct indefinitely is indefinitely so then do not accept reservations on June 1 do not accept any reservations until you have an announced opening day

But they are. It doesn’t mean you have to if you don’t like the uncertainty. No one is forced to book. I much prefer being able to make plans, knowing they might not happen than rush to get reservations with a few days notice. If you don’t like not knowing, don’t book.

Correct they are covered. But per that logic people could argue they shouldn’t take any reservations until they have a reopening date then. It’s no secret they want those funds and to keep that money wrapped up while it’s figured out, but at what point is that not fair.

What does a virtual queue look like? Kind of like the old fastpass where you scan your band and are given a return time?

If they were 100% sure they weren’t going to be open, they shouldn’t take reservations. I don’t think that’s the case, but even if it is, good luck proving it. The only solution is don’t book until you know they’re going to be open. I’m ok with them holding my deposit.
