I think all stays prior to the parks opening (if not on dvc points), are going to be cancelled :( Others are reporting their stays are being cancelled. Since you are booked through a "TA" (from Disney's perspective), I believe Disney is filtering all communication through the TA's.

I agree this most probably is the case. As far as Riviera or Jambo being used for a sports team, I figure that is sketchy info also. Hopefully. But the fact remains that Jambo is partly hotel rooms and partly DVC so who knows?

Since Riviera is nowhere close to sell out, any DVC 'rebookers' would only have those rooms that have all ready been released/declared into the condo association available to book with DVC points - not the whole resort.

DVD can do what they want with the undeclared inventory - that's why people could get cash rooms so easily, but point rooms were harder to come by. I also fear @snugglebug 's UR reservation is gone since it essentially was a cash reservation through Chase. (I really hope I'm wrong on this one.)

And, after reading @snugglebug 's post about Riviera, I decided to take a look at my DVC account. Magically, all but 1 of my points from the Hilton Head closure have migrated to the 2020 use year in the last 2 days. I had rebooked these points several times since March just on the off chance that I might be able to book something usable before September 30, since I have an October use year.

This is ahead of the schedule people have been talking about, such as your points must expire, etc, before getting the extension. My last booking event consisted of canceling the last reservation I had made when DVC sent the latest communication that would extend Oct 2018 points to Nov 30, 2020. Color me somewhat confused as I had assumed all my remaining points were 2018 use year and would be available on Oct 1, 2020 and usable until Nov 30, 2020.

I have to admit that I didn't do any research as to whether they were all points banked from 2018 into 2019. For the HH reservation I 'knew' I had used 2018, 2019 and 2020 points, but since when I went on the trip, I expected they would be gone, and didn't foresee the resort being closed a day earlier than my departure date or that I would leave for home a day before that.

So when most of those points got returned, I wasn't overly concerned with the remaining ones and just made a half hearted attempt to book them again.

Now, I guess that 1 point qualifies for being made live on October 1. However I doubt I will take the chance of rebooking any of my nights that late in the game! Don't need to lose the reservation. Probably should give up my November nights and move them to February or even March.

We love URs, but have an old Freedom card and I PCed my CSP to a CFU a couple years back. DH has never had an AmEx card, so we could go that route, but would probably get gift cards for the points if we went that direction.

Also thinking of Hyatt cards - is there basically just the one card with 25,000 points after $3,000 and another 25,000 after $6,000 total spend? We could handle the spend, so that's not an issue at this point. If we go Hyatt, is there a benefit to both applying at the same time to have 2 cards in the family? Can we pool points?

Thanks for any advice.

It's all about me this morning. Yesterday about 5 sections of my new Trex fencing was installed.

And last night we had a horrid thunder and lightning storm with rain and lots of high wind. I was really worried the freestanding sections would get blown over.

It was too dark and wet and with the lightning, I couldn't check to see if my fence sections were still standing. Concrete was poured to set the posts as the fence was constructed - necessary because of the design. The posts were stabilized in the holes and also my son in law did a little extra - he left up the old fence posts and used them to provide more stability temporarily.

Anyway, it's all still there this morning! He won't work on it anymore until Sunday as he has to do some other job and for the family discount you have to be patient as you get fitted into available time.

Hi!
What cards do you have? It's hard to make recommendations when we don't know more information. Did you look at the first post?

Things in the churning world gone crazy. I think right now your best option would be the Chase Sapphire Preferred. You get 60,000 URs for $4K spend, AF $95. If you willing to do a modified double the second card would be the Chase Sapphire Reserved, 50,000 with $4K spend, but this is a premium card and the AF is $550.

If you are looking for hotel cards the Chase Hyatt card is a great option.

What kind of rewards are you looking for? WIth more info on your travel needs and current cards we can give better advice.

Ooh, will that work? I started to do the offer but they wanted $14.99 for shipping. I was just going to order 1 bottle for $20. You had to order 6 to get free shipping. I'm pretty much happy to buy a $14.99 bottle in my local package store. I also think I'm through with the wine clubs or mail ordered wine. Out of 4 bottles from the boxed order, I only enjoyed one of them. Not bad just not the quality I look for. Drinking reds - cabernet, merlot, shiraz, plus just a glass or two a week, so half the bottle is salad dressing, lol.

hmm... I'll give it a try if someone would send me a link.

I am stumped on the what card to get next also. I am thinking about the Hyatt also, just because I am not sure what else to get. DH already has it, so I do like it. If you both get them around the same time then at least your free nights will align if you wanted to make a weekend out of 2 free nights. You can pool Hyatt points.

World of Hyatt will let you transfer your points to anyone else's World of Hyatt account without any fees. There are two major restrictions to be aware of:
You can only transfer points to another member “in order to have a sufficient number of points to redeem a particular award”
You can only combine points (regardless of whether you’re sending or receiving) once every 30 days

It sounds confusing, so see here for more info.

DH and I just both got Hyatt cards, we applied the same month because it is nice to have the free certificated post at the same time. I applied first using someone's support link on DISchurners, as soon as the card appeared on my Chase account I was able to create a support link for DH. I was approved on 4/15 and he was approved on 4/16.

I haven't been able to transfer points from my CIP to my CSR for a few days. On the combine points screen, my 2 business cards are on the left, and one of those same 2 are on the right. There is the square on the right to "add household member/company owner". When I add my CSR using that, it says unexpected error occurred and its been that way for 2 days. There is no way for me to unlink the receiving business card and there doesn't seem to be a way to add another card. Anyone noticed anything like this before I call?

I was having this issue 2 days ago when i was trying to combine my points. I am NOT saying that it's the case, but I was not able to link 2 different cards to the same CIP. I had to do CIP1->Freedom1->Freedom2->CIP2. When I was trying to do Freedom2->CIP2 and THEN CIP1->Freedom1->CIP2 it kept giving me the "unexpected error" message.

Travel portal lady called me back yesterday morning. She hadn't gotten all of the CC info she needed to process the payment. So I gave that to her and the payment came out, etc. But I still haven't gotten a confirmation email.

Are you a FL resident? We are going down next week and my daughter will be returning in October so I wondered how much extra it'll be to upgrade her 4 day pass to an AP?
No, I'm a fellow Wisconsinite :D I would think you could upgrade her ticket for free. Actual 4 day tickets with UR is what I had.

I was sort of thinking of taking the 188K UR I had tied up in Riv and booking 4 day hoppers for Universal and 3 nights in a kid suite at Sapphire Falls. I'd still have UR left over. Staying onsite at Universal gets you in the park right? I still have 2 nights at Boardwalk and a car rental so we would be fine to drive over to Disney if I could get in one day.

But, I think I have something else in the works...

Anyone have any data points for BA canceled flights? Any luck getting a refund vs a voucher? Asking for a friend...

Sorry about that - I hit the tab key when I was typing and it posted my message before I got it typed! I edited it, but you must have seen it before I finished editing!

I think I'll do the same. I just cheked my credit limits on my chase cards and I had $69,700. My CFU was $34,000, so I SMed them to change to $10,000 and I've already heard back that they changed it. I think I'll go ahead and do what you did and get a link from dischurners and then have DH apply when I have an account (hoping I get approved)!

Could be an early walker..my sisters grandson started walking at 9 months she was :crazy2:
YAY! My 1st born was the "overacheiver" baby. I was in an online baby group, and one mom was local to me. All the other moms thought I was lying or bragging. Luckily my (now bestie) local mom friend had my back, LOL. She would be like, nope...Maddie is sitting up at 6 weeks, walking at 9 mos, etc. Her brother was more lazy, LOL. He didn't walk till a few days after 1. Had only a handful of words, etc.
yes, that's true and I have separate logins for them. I guess I'm going to have make a dreaded phone call. I despise making phone calls..

So weird. I just tried again from home where my password is saved/autofilled and got the same thing.

EDIT!!!! My membership has expired!

Why don't they just SAY that instead of "this action cannot be performed"??? Ugh! But at least the problem is solved and the car canceled.

Thanks everyone!
I was gonna say, expired membership. I know because I'm in the same boat, LOL.

Was finally able to get DD registered for August SAT so I can make summer travel plans. About to cash in what's left of my AA stash for three tickets to Traverse City, MI for late August. Really looking forward to a vacation. Even if it's just sitting around my parents' house staring at Little Traverse Bay.
Let's hope the state is even more back to normal. Though the govenor opened up TC before memorial day. My BF and I are SOOOOO excited to go out to dinner. He said last night, get ready to be going out A LOT, LOL.

I keep wavering on applying for a new card. I'm debating trying for a Chase Biz (I know they haven't been nice w/ the approvals) vs the "free" Chase IHG. Do we have confirmation on Amex only allowing 4 now? I have that open 5th slot I was thinking of getting the free Hilton Amex, but I have the 4 slots filled right now.

Does anyone else hesitate on applying for a new card? I keep going back and forth on getting a new card, LOL.
