Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Is anyone familiar with their cabana rentals? We have only rented cabanas at the GF. The cabanas at the oasis pool seem more low key, not sure what they include. We have a trip July 30th-August 8th at the bora bora bungalows and want to do a pool day.
Last year a full day was about $75. Cancel 24 hours ahead unless there is inclement weather. You get a shaded place to sit, a ceiling fan (that does no good IMO) and an outlet. Servers also tend to pay more attention to you :)

Thank you all so much!
Please report back if you are able to make a reservation - I would like to reserve one myself but can only get busy signals, the "all circuits are busy now" recorded message, and failed calls.

Are thry quiet or is there piped in music?
The resort background music plays in the Oasis Pool area. Always brings a tear to my eye when I first hear it!

I have tried several times, haven’t been able to get through. I was on the phone with Disney for over 9 hours yesterday modifying 2 stays throughout the fall along with a few hours today. I’m going to give their phone lines a rest for now and try back tomorrow.

I found (407) 824-2000 for the Polynesian on Touring Plans, I don't know if it was luck or not but instead of a busy tone it actually rang and connected. Interestingly my iPhone shows that I am on the line with Pineapple Lanai (as if that were saved in my phone, it's not). I'm just on hold but it's better than the other options!!

I was told yesterday best number was 407-934-7639.

I tried so many #s yesterday that when I got through at night I asked what best. Took me 1 hr 40 mins this morning, not too bad.

Also I,did get through at 6p and 8:30 p last night. I guessed people would give up and that worked. Their system was down so I was told to try today.
Good luck.

Oh I was offered RR but I said I was just there in Feb and she looked at every resort I was interested in.

Well that was a waste of time, spent two hours on hold to be told that they are not accepting reservations for Oasis Pool Patios at this time and that they are first-come, first served. At least it was a different music loop for the hold music than I am used to... though being invited to visit the DCA Food and Wine Festival "now through April 21st" was pouring salt in my open wound of the cancelled Disneyland trip we had booked during April.

My sister called and was just told the same thing, that’s a bummer.

Today is a sad day for my family. If the pandemic had not happened, or had been controlled back in January and didn't spread like wildfire, we would be arriving at the Polynesian right about now.

We were booked club level in the Hawaii building. I planned everything out to the minute. We had awesome ADR's, and tonight we would have ordered the Twilight Feast, extra noodles. We booked our trip last fall, and until March, I was all in and very excited. All week, I will be thinking about what we would be doing.

My DH (61) and I (55) both have underlying health issues, and we have been advised by our physicians that we will not be safe until there is a vaccine.

We booked the Poly for July 2021, and we are praying for a vaccine...not just so we can go on vacation, but so that no more lives will be lost to this scourge.

Opinion: Would you choose Poly marina/pool view or a deluxe villa standard view??? (Pool view is $488 more total for the 5 nights)
Who’s in your travel party? We prefer deluxe villa studios because we are a party of 2, no kids, and like the full size coffee pot, kitchenette, and sofa (which we never pull out). You’re also guaranteed a balcony or patio in the studio rooms, which is important to us. The bathrooms are big in both room types but I also prefer the split bath in the studio. If you have kids or a party that requires two beds, you might prefer the regular hotel room with two queens.

I'll be a first-timer in August! We were upgraded from AKL to a Poly Lagoon view. Is anyone familiar with where I may be located on the property? I'd love to be closer to the main building but the Lagoon view seems fantastic on its own!
Here is a site I've referred to that shows Lagoon views at Tuvalu and Rarotonga longhouses: http://www.tikimanpages.com/poly/the-resort/planning/item/60-which-longhouse.

You'll love staying at the Poly. My family loves the boat service to MK--I hope they are running in August. Also, I recommend walking to the TTC to get to Epcot rather than taking the Monorail all the way around Seven Seas Lagoon. It's a reasonable walk and the path is nice. My kids actually talk more about missing the Poly than they do MK.
