Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

I meant if you’re standing in the line to get in. Once DTD opens, of course there are options :-).
When we were there last week they had 2 of the 3 bathrooms closed for deep cleaning. The one by LEGO and the one in the esplanade. We bypassed the one at Wetzels Pretzels because it looked like a huge line, walked all the way to the esplanade and then had to walk back to Wetzels Pretzels. OMG. I did NOT think I would make it. I did, but it was close. I let them know in a survey I took.

I appreciate them at least letting people know. Makes it easier than just blindly hoping. I don’t know if this means they won’t be open though! See lots of folks online claiming that.

That would be awesome. I can’t tell from @WonkaKid’s picture if the plexiglass sneeze guards have been installed at DL, I know they have been installed at DCA. Maybe in anticipation of this sort of an event?
I believe they have been. I misunderstood your post and thought you’d asked about DCA. So this is a zoom from a pic I took earlier.

OC's virus stats are basically flat in the last 7 days. Not moving any closer to reopening but also not getting worse. Guess we are in limbo.
The LA Times had an article yesterday that Orange County is really struggling due to many citizens refusing to wear masks. Quite frankly, I was left with the impression that those numbers won't be changing for awhile due to the unwillingness of some to follow the guidelines, Reading that, right after an article about people being scared to return to work, made me sad and frustrated. CM's and others could feel safer if people would follow guidelines.

She also said that she didn’t think an August opening is overly optimistic. I’m nothing else if not an optimist so I share her hope :-).

Not overly optimistic from Disney’s view point or California’s? The former I’d agree the later not so much.

Without getting technical or specific lest it get deleted, Orange county needs to stay under a certain metric for 14 days average to get off the watchlist to proceed with any further staged openings by the order of state Governor.

It is a day zero still unfortunately.

This is the latest LA Times article on OC data that was posted on the app today:

‘Everywhere you go you’re at risk’: Orange County coronavirus surge worsens as officials struggle to trace infections
https://www.latimes.com/california/...ty-struggles-to-pinpoint-sources-of-infection

So which is it? The data @DLgal is looking at that says they’re staying the same..... not better or worse but staying flat, or this article from the LA Times which suggests covid is lurking around every corner just waiting to infect you.

I’m genuinely asking. Because it’s extremely confusing. I’d be shocked if Disneyland opened August 15. SHOCKED

I would be shocked as well! They would have to announce it now and open the reservation system in a few days, I do NOT see that in the cards, even if the numbers are steady so far this week.

Both are true actually. The rate is stable, high stable though.

And if the challenges which the LA times identifies are not changed for the better to lower infection rates, there will be no reopening of anything in the current state of affairs. ☹️

The only hope that I can see DLR remotely doing anything is like the Calico event and have 100% outdoors experience food festival.

Orange county and Anaheim officials would probably be 100% behind that and blow through any hurdles to get precious tax revenue flowing

Is this common knowledge at this point or are people glossing over a big detail? I think it’s huge at this point that they are even targeting Aug 15th as a possibility.

I was surprised with the date, especially since I saw (here I think) they were cancelling reservations up to August 22. She wasn't the friendliest CM I've ever spoken with by any means, but I figured I would pass on what she said.
