Bad habits you've developed during Corona Virus?

The amount of TV I've watched is insane. I am going back to working outside the house in a week. I think Netflix and Hulu will probably call to make sure I'm okay.
We've never stopped going out to work but we certainly have stopped going practically anywhere else. We're not super-ambitions when it comes to exercise so when winter hit in earnest last October, that was it for walks. We basically do nothing except work, eat, sleep, minimally keep up the house and watch TV. I'm not kidding when I say we've almost completely "watched out" Netflix, Crave (our version of Hulu), Amazon Prime, Apple+ and HBO. We're literally down to watching sports now, which must be a harbinger of doom. :sad2:

We made it to the zoo today. But yeah, I'm now watching the Love Boat and old 70s and 80s TV.

I have watched way too much TV over the last year and a half.

I’m gonna have to go with jealousy. Pre Covid I assumed all parents for the most part shared the same struggle. The last year I’ve seen so many posts from parents about all the extra time they’ve had at home and spent with their kids. I’ve continued working outside the house and extra hours. But lost the convenience of going out to eat when I’m too tired to cook and added the extra school work. I literally cannot fathom having “watched all of Netflix “ or “not wearing real pants”. Seriously, what is that? My bad habit is having become a jealous person

I love to cook which means I ate more. I've had way too much time on my hands. I need multiple vacations.

We never really did uber eats or door dash at our home, my husband did from time to time when he was in CA in 2019 but otherwise we never really did it. I think the only place we had done before was like Jimmy Johns. But with the pandemic it was all too easy to just order to have it delivered and this made it easier to say "I don't feel like cooking let's order". We did do a lot of cooking and in the early days and had gotten into a routine with food when my husband was working from home but when he went back and us curtailing how often we ate inside a restaurant the ordering went up :rolleyes1

I was SO excited about using Doordash when our credit card offered a $60 annual credit AND a free dash pass subscription. Unfortunately, the 2 times we have used it, our orders have been screwed up ROYALLY to the point where I will never use the service again. One time we were missing over half the items we ordered and I had to get on the car and drive 15 minutes to the restaurant to pick up the rest. The second time, the driver brought another customer's order to us. I had to chase him down, and he went back and got the right food, but by the time we got it it was ice cold and an hour late. Never again.

Most of the restaurants around here use DoorDash for their delivery so we can't really get around it. We actually often order from the restaurant itself because the pricing is sometimes increased on doordash or ubereats in comparison to what the restaurant themselves actually charges but we also pay attention to the delivery fee the restaurant charges so sometimes it's better to order from doordash or uber eats.

That said most of our issues have arise from the restaurant not the delivery driver for us personally as in they forgot to put the ranch for he side of fries or a side is missing (though I guess a delivery driver could have taken it I suppose but I usually don't think they have) but if I look at Nextdoor there are misdelivered food orders that occur regularly which increased quite a bit during the pandemic.

I don't blame you for not wanting to use them those are two bad experiences that would make me wary of using them too if it was my first few times doing so. Someone posted on Nextdoor the other day in my area about an awful experience with Uber Eats for KFC very similar to one of your stories where almost half the order was missing. They weren't looking for anything just to know if it was normal since it was their very first time using the service and they did not have a car to get out and go anywhere. A kind neighbor asked if they could make it up to them by bringing them dinner and lo and behold he actually did bring them dinner even though the guy was not affiliated whatsoever with a food delivery service he just felt bad, we all thought that was very sweet of him.
