So looking back, did it seem to be the addition of a 4th wife or Robyn herself that ruined the family? I don't recall the exact issues.

Honestly, I think it was a combination of Robyn, 4th wife, and their move to Vegas. To be fair, they didn't have a show before that, so who knows, maybe they've always had tons of issues. For Meri and Kody's relationship specifically I think Meri losing her job was also a key factor.

I think it was adding Robyn specifically. Maybe adding any 4th would have done it but her being young and pretty (relatively) was too much. She was on top as the skiny new pretty thing and she has done everything she can (backhandedly) to keep herself on top...IMO.

Ironically, Meri is the one who encouraged it and pushed for it. Wonder how she 'fills' about that now???

And Christine said, in like episode 2 season 1, that she didn't want to ever marry a singular guy. She ONLY wanted a plyg because she wanted the family not just a husband. Found that to be a stark opposite to now with her attitude of 'we don't have to do anything together. Plus she said all that...the wanting the whole big supportive family aspect of plural marriage and then like a few scenes later she is expressing her disapproval, of sorts, to adding Robyn as 4th wife.

I really do think this family is a fascinating microcosm of the issues surrounding Covid. In spite of the fact that most of the show is shot on phones or conducted by Zoom, this is a very interesting season. It really does highlight the issues they have in front of them. Kody really just wants to keep everyone on lockdown so he can come and go at will. And while that might work for the younger kids, I just don't see that flying with the older kids. The pandemic is complicated for families with young adult kids. For a family that size with so many young adult kids? Way too complicated. And does that mean they never see the grandkids? I'll be curious to see how they proceed with all of it.

I do find myself wanting to smack someone for the Utah discussion. So much chaos in that family. Those poor kids.

I mean, Doodie is going from house to house...so, um, they already are ALL at risk so makes no sense to then keep the moms and kids apart. ALways bugged me that we could go to the grocery or walmart or target all day long but not the hair salon, local boutique shop or a restaurant. Then when we could go to restaurants we had to order food....could not just go and have a drink. Guess food keeps the corona away. ANd they'd close early because I guess the corona is rampant after 10pm. I guess the corona doesn't go in walmart or target but does go in the mom and pop boutique down the street. I digress. Anyway, Sobbin is using the pandemic to get Doodie to herself. I see you, girl.

It's comical the way they think they're being so careful by "only" Kody going from house to house. But he showers and changes clothes each time! Too bad the real risk is inside of him rather than on the surface.

Robyn does seem to be on the uber cautious side of the spectrum with Covid. You know she has to be losing her mind that Kody is going from house to house where all those older kids are living.

I think she wants him to herself, but not necessarily just to keep him away from the other wives. I think she just wants a 100% safe environment and keeping him there is the only real way of doing that. Sorry Robyn, 100% safety in a family your size is just not a realistic goal.

OMG!! I have always cringed when she says "fill" instead of "feel"!! Christine does it too, with several words like that! I remember her saying that too, and I think she was perfectly happy being the 3rd wife as long as all of the hurt and jealousy is piled on someone else, she's happy.

I get that. But if that's what happened, she took a real chance planning on that. Nobody ever guaranteed her that position in the family. It probably would have been more surprising for him NOT to take another wife.

I agree! He is all about adding another wife and more kids. I think the normal standard is 3, so that’s why she expected it. But I don’t really know...and she should have figured out pretty quick Kodi was going to always want more. He needs more attention than 3 wives can provide

I just googled her and an article from 2018 came up. It was all about the Brand New 3 bed house she was renting for $2,900 a month in Utah. Did she move from that property?

I remember that Meri had to move from her 1st rental due to neighbor complaints, but I don't remember hearing about Janelle moving

I believe Meri is the only one with property in Utah, and that's the B&B she bought in Parowan.

Side note: one of the reality TV rags posted that Kody & Robyn took out a HELOC on their Flagstaff house less than a year after buying it.
If their numbers are correct, the loan was less than their initial down payment but still doesn't exactly scream sound financial management.
