Moving a DLR Trip to Walt Disney World- Let’s Talk!

I’ve been trying for a Universal/DL trip with my son for a year. We are currently booked at VGC for Sept 10-12 but I’ve also got Sept 6-8 booked at Copper Creek. I just snagged great airfare (15K miles RT from Phoenix to Orlando). The airfare is refundable, but it feels good to have the framework there. If we do go to Orlando, we’ll do 2 days Universal and one day Disney. It was the reverse for CA. He’s very into Harry Potter these days. I really want to jump off the coaster and commit to FL, but I’m giving it until the 4th of July to make a final decision, unless something pushes my hand.

For those feeling apprehensive about figuring out WDW trips... I definitely recommend Get Away Today. It didn't cost any extra for me to book with them and they take care of all your price monitoring and dining reservations. Since I didn't want to wake up at 3AM to make mine, I let them take care of it and they got every single one I wanted.. including the hard ones like Sci-Fi and Oga's. Very convenient.

We're going to try Cinderella's Royal Table this trip which is a spectacular waste of money as vegetarians but I just want to eat inside the castle. :)

Glad to see people on this forum again. Me and my daughter are still going to WDW in June. We are soooooooooo excited and can't wait to see how different WDW is from Disneyland.
Hey everyone, I'm working on my list a little. We are staying at All Star Movies. Does anyone know if they have places to plug in cell phones? AND a weird question, do they supply shampoo etc in the rooms? We are going with carry-on and if we don't need to we won't pack those things. Thanks!!!! :earsgirl:

All Star movies should have shampoo/conditioner/body wash in dispensers on the wall. Those were added during their recent renovation. I only stayed there 1 night in 2018, so really don't remember about the plugs. Oh and my room was not yet renovated. I believe the renovations added more plugs for all our electronics, but was not an issue for me since I was solo and only staying 1 night.

I will be back at WDW again in late September at AKV-Kidani for the big 50th anniversary of WDW! We are very excited.

Yeah! Thank you so much for the info. It's a big help. This is our first trip to WDW, so we are somewhat in the dark about silly things like shampoo. I can't believe we are actually almost done waiting. We changed our Disneyland trip 3 times before pulling the plug last December. We still wouldn't be able to go anyway considering we live in Washington State. Thanks again and I hope you have a very magical trip in September!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

The included shampoo/conditioner/body wash is the Disney H2O line! I was pretty excited about that- just made it feel magical!

We're going in June too! Staying at Pop because that Skyliner access was just so neat last time. Is it too soon to pull out suitcases because I'm itching to go here... 🤣

OOOOOoooooo! I haven't tried the Disney H2O line before. I'm already feeling spoiled. And, yes, I have been staring at my suitcase for a while now too. We are going on June 20 - 26th. Every week that goes by I get more and more excited. It almost seems like it's not happening if you get what I mean. We tried going to Disneyland so many times it's strange to think it's actually going to happen. I need to pinch myself! :rotfl2: I hope you have a wonderful time! And, I hope you enjoy that Skyliner. We'll enjoy the busses!! We are just so happy to be going I'm sure I will be freaking out on the inside about any little Disney thing is see and do. Take Care!!!

The ASMovies rooms should have USB plugs for charging cell phones, tablets, & things like that. The value resorts have the Disney H20 products in the bathrooms, but they're not in little bottles...they're in a dispenser in the tub/shower area. The dispensers have a lock on them and it'll be covered in plastic with a sticker on it that says it's been cleaned & sanitized when you arrive.

In the tub/shower area, there's a big dispenser bottle for shampoo, another one for conditioner, and a third for body wash. In the sink area, there's a bar of soap. I don't remember if there's a small tube of aloe vera stuff or not.

I love the smell of the body wash. They sell all of the H20 products in the resort gift shops, so you can buy some and take it home with you. I bought a container of the body wash since it smells like vacation. I use it when I need a reminder of WDW. :-)

Thank you so much for all the cool info! They have a lock on them? Is that so people won't steal them? That's sad if that's the case. I do love body wash! I look forward to all the yummy smelling "shampoo" things. Thanks again! :wave2:

It’s because they are very large bottles instead of tiny bottles they usually give you. Less waste You will love the H2O products! We use them at home too.

I bought some H20 products too for at home! They remind me of Disney World now. :flower1:

I'm starting to get REAL nervous about the crowds for summer. Our dates are the last week of June (6/23-7/1) and all the hotels are sold out except for Coronado and all Park Pass reservations are filling up/already gone.

I really, really hope they have a plan to manage these crowds with more staffing, longer hours, more entertainment.... or something!

For some reason, I'm not nervous about the crowds. I figure they have probably been planning for this summer for months now. I do wonder if capacity limit will be up by the time we go. Alot can happen between now and then. Wow all hotels sold out huh? I'm glad I made my hotel and park reservations way back in December. :) I've never been to WDW before so it will be an "eye" opener no matter what. (just yell out TikiTikiFan every now and again and I'll yell out Bassgirl! when were there, maybe well bump into each other) (Just kidding) :rotfl2:I hope you have the most wonderful time!!!

I heard WDW was hiring right now. So I think that’s a good sign they are prepping for summer! At least I hope they are!! We are going at the beginning of June. I’ll report back about crowds!

Love it, I'll just be yelling out our forum names at random! I'm sure my son won't be embarrassed at all. :rotfl2:

I think you're right, Disney World will be prepared for this... I think I'm just nervous for the heat lol!
