Uhm....Bahamas is now requiring vaccinations for all passengers over 12..

Could you imagine if they UNCANCELLED the 7 day cruises they just cancelled!!?? This is turning into complete chaos!

I would need to go back and have a whole headache since I now have 2 dreams cruises instead of the 1 fantasy. I am game though as long as my room is still there lol. Have to think some extra rooms will be available anyways since people would absolutely cancel over this likely.

If DCL were to follow this order, it opens up the USVI to them. So it would allow the October+ 7 night Fantasy Eaterns to sail, although only porting at USVI and CC.

They would hit the BVI requirement too right? Or was there a testing requirement for them as well?

I don't think they'll actually uncancel...but with the way things have been going...anything could happen!! haha!

they could also go to st. Martin’s or Puerto Rico if the requirements are same. both have been stops on the eastern.

We are on one of the affected October sailings. My wish would be that they mandate vaccines for 12+ and put it back to a 7 day cruise. I think that’s unlikely, but I’d be excited. My second choice is that they mandate vaccines for 12+ and keep the 4 day. Right now, though, I’d just love to know something. This has been such a roller coaster. 😢

That has no connection. NCLs lawsuit has to do with Florida not allowing ships to check for vaccination status.
I think that is the point. They are either going to have to check/require vaccine for 12+ or stop sailing. If they prevent passengers from travelling if unvaccinated, they run afoul of Florida law, unless they can tag along on NCL's suit/injunction.

But if the Bahamas are requiring vaccination, DCL - and ALL lines going there - will have to mandate vaccinated status for all eligible and will have to ask for proof. So Florida's ban on requiring them would kill the industry.

I am on a similar sailing in Sept (7 to 4 day). Still waiting for the new reservation to be loaded so I can book "port adventures"/check-in. I am thinking this may slow down the new reservation being loaded.

And where would DCLs ships leave from?

If they are not allowed to ask for Vax status, and they can't go to Castaway unless they are 100% vaxxed (over 12), then they can't sail because all their current cruises only go to Castaway.

They would need to get an injunction to sail, and the quickest way is to join NCLs lawsuit.

Weird thing could Disney cruise require you to submit vaccination status at home so in theory they are requesting it in a different state? Then when you show up at port they could reject you trying to board because you never did the pre-checkin online from home as opposed to vaccination requirement?

They could still get fined for those people who did the check-in while in Florida but have to think that is a small subset of guests.

Not sure it matters though as it seems Disney can just use the ruling via NCL to just ask for it outright.

I think you’re definitely right!
