Boulder Ridge Referb

I agree with Stargazer65 when covid hit and we could buy in at $94 a point it made sense for our family to buy. Hope this gets started sooner than later but the future is looking bright!

This is great news, we have a split stay for two nights at CCV in a 2BR and then 5 at BRV next June and I was worried that we would be really going down a notch after leaving the CCV two BR if they hadn’t gotten very far in the refurb but it’s looking promising that it may be done by next summer now

When is your stay? They still have not announced when they will be starting all we know so far is it is going to start in 2022. hopefully January 1st but that is wishful thinking:)

First week of June so I thought 50/50 and we may still try to switch to CC for all 7 at 7 months but the fact that they’ve somewhat started is good news I think.

Do they usually announce or is it DVC members who see construction activity and report it to social media?

I would hope info would be released at the next members meeting, in December? Earlier would be better of course. Would they do a floor at a time?

Not an owner here...I think it looks good besides the doors. I hope they do not do alternating green/red-orange. A stained wood door would look best to help offset the busy hallway carpet but they'll probably do one of the painted options so I'd say go all green doors.

We stayed at Copper Creek in June but were moved to a Cabin. I'm still blind to how the resort rooms & villas are laid out but I did actually stumble upon this test corner when looking for ice & a pass-thru to the lobby.

I'm really hoping the 2 colors was a matter of 'which one and want to see it to decide' and not 'we're doing both.'

This is really exciting! We just bought into BRV a few months ago and I've been waiting for photos like these to give a glimpse of what might be coming. I hope they go with the green doors - something about the red/orange door with the patterned carpeting makes me think of "The Shining", lol.

I think they are changing the door colors. Maybe to brighten up things with all the dark wood. Those hallways are dark and lighting is/was not the best.

I was hoping the refurb would stay on schedule for 2022, but with all the availabilty in 2022, I question it. And was really hoping it would be done for the popular holiday bookings there.

I'm still hopeful. Hoping they're taking fewer rooms offline at a time but I can see where they'd put the construction of the new DVC rooms at GF first to bring in quick capital. I'm hoping that reservations have fallen off for BRV because people are anticipating the refurb which would show more availability. DVD would definitely make more than a few DVC owners at BRV's upset.

BRV is a small resort. The refurbishment should not take very long to do. Your looking at a total of 181 rooms. SSR had 1260 or so rooms that were refurbished. Each building at SSR has 70 rooms. BRV is essentially 2.5 buildings at SSR. It seemed to take about 4 or so moths to completely that many rooms at SSR. Granted at SSR they could remove multiple buildings at once ( due to pandemic low number of guests). I would think BRV refurbishment will take about 6 months maximum. Taking a certain amount of rooms out at a time and then move to the next group. Depending on size of crews a room could be refurbished in less than a week.

I arrive tomorrow (Copper Creek though) and will poke around lol I mean ask around. As if they will tell me anything.

That would be great! Thanks! And I'm so jealous!!

That's what I'm thinking also. The reno at SSR took a couple years because of size. I'm not sure we'd notice any availability changes for BRV.

I really just wish they’d tell us when the refurb is taking place, so we’d know! I have a huge extended friends and family trip planned for Feb 2022, and was originally excited we’d be in refurbed rooms. For some of my family, this will be their first trip to BRV. Now with all the delays, they’ll not get to be in a nicely refurbed room and I’m disappointed FOR them.
