We could all get new ones for nothing or next to it but our bill would go up $40 a month.

I think that's the "trick" for the carriers. Advertise a free phone but then then force the customer to upgrade to a more expensive plan. T Mobile is doing a similar promo but they force you to upgrade the plan to their Magenta Max which is considerably more expensive then my current Essentials plan. For the 3 on my family plan the increase would be $65 more per month for 30 months = $1,950, so hardly a free phone.

Both Staples and OD/OM have Visa gift card deals this week.

Yes, I'll be going to pick up either $600 or $800. That takes care of my Costco spend and a few incidentals for the next month, and is also more UR's at 5x on my CIC then I would get from my regular card choices, excluding any possible offers.

It's probably time for me to pick up another card. Getting close to a year now.

Since I have the executive membership, my return is 7% using the gift card method.

Can I ask one of you math whizzes.... I was thinking of getting a few gc this week, using my Flex offer/quarterly which is 9% back....I still come out ahead of the staples no fee with 5% back...is this correct? (i'm trying to max this offer before it's over)

If that is Verizon you have to already be on the 2nd level of unlimited plan for the deal to show up online. Are you on that plan? I think it's called Play More?

I went in and the manager said it was only working on mcs. Maybe the computer system screwed up but visas aren’t currently ringing up fee free at my store.

My ex’s plan is business unlimited and he was able to upgrade dd at no cost I believe. I think unlimited is the key.

AAAArgghhh! But thank you! Saved me the trip. I still have a couple of cards so I can wait. But, another reason to up my $400 to $600 and possibly $800 to keep on schedule.

My sketchy math: $600 = 3000UR x 12 months = 36000 UR. So, I do a few $800 months and get it up to 40000 UR. That's 2 free nights in summer of about $500 to $600 per night value. So 40000 UR turn into about $1200 once tax is added, and I get to stare at the ocean. I will be staying longer on already earned or to be earned points and may even stay at a different hotel for a visit, but it's a nice supplement for me to my retired income.

So, I'll start watching for them week after next- maybe they'll have them by Oct 10.....and, the master cards show up last week of the month for the $200 one since April. So there's sort of a pattern, however long it lasts.

It's in my ad also online for my store. Just checked. I'll wait to hear if anyone actually gets a Visa fee free. But, based on the history I'm thinking somebody may have screwed up the ad?

Yes, I found it funny that I saw nothing for this week on DoC after reading about it. But it's definitely still in my online ad. As Visa $200 fee free card, $6.95 value. Too bad the MC doesn't work for me!
