Disney Park's posted this yesterday. Is it an April Fool's joke or, is there possibly an announcement being made Monday?

James Gunn posted this before Disney posted anything then quickly deleted it, so I don’t think Disney’s was an April Fool’s joke unless it’s a very elaborate, over-the-top one.

Thanks. I didn’t realize calling worked for some. We have a new credit card coming in the mail and we’d like to wait for that before renewing the passes. If Disney announces on Monday about AP previews then we may have to just go ahead and renew. I wonder if chat would work instead of calling?

Can you just use your debit card? I know it’s hard to let the rewards go for such a large purchase but at least you will have the experience of the preview.

We're hoping for information regarding an AP preview sign up.
The announcement could just be to confirm the May 30 opening, and to announce a line of merchandise of GotG "stuff".

Can you just use your debit card? I know it’s hard to let the rewards go for such a large purchase but at least you will have the experience of the preview.

I could but I’d rather put the spend on this new card. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if we miss the preview. Our passes won’t be activated anyway most likely so we might not have a chance at all. We’ll be there May 2-5 and using our current passes so my hope is there’s a preview then but it seems a little early

I'm leaning to just an announcement about the opening, not something about previews. I don't foresee that on Monday. I'd love to be wrong mind you. Just not expecting it

No idea why it would be deleted unless they don't have permission for the songs yet or something. I think there's little doubt it's opening soon since "soon" has no definite window of time connected to it. Soon doesn't mean this month, next month, or any specific month. Saying it's opening soon is not spilling any secret.

At any rate, I don't think it was an April Fool's joke either. Lots of others do. I just think they aren't thinking it through since it's just not even a good joke.

But they were worried that it wouldn't get there in time.

We are at WDW from 5/11 - 5/21 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that AP/DVC previews will be a little bit later.

We're there May 7-14 -- I'm turning 50 on May 11. An AP or DVC preview for GotG would be one fabulous present!

Have they every announced the AP previews before they even announced the officially opening date of a ride? Or even announced the AP previews at the same time as the official opening date? I can't remember myself but I was thinking no. I thought they announced the opening date and then the previews some time later.

Around March 7 Disney announced SWGE, specifically the Millennium Falcon would open August 29.

The past may or may not apply. We're looking at maybe 2 months for opening an 6 weeks for previews. Both are running late.

You may be right. Opening announcement Monday and previews later in the week BUT I'm not willing to bet the farm. I'll be looking for emails and posts on fan forums daily starting Monday

Ratatouille opened on October 1, and I rode it on September 14 for my AP preview. If these follow the same pattern (and they even offer them), that should put AP previews starting around May 9th-ish.
