GotG Cosmic Rewind AP previews

If I have a park reservation for DHS on the same day that I want to snag a passholder preview for Guardians of the Galaxy, that DHS park reservation won't prevent me from getting the GOG preview, will it?
No - the AP preview will come with a bonus Epcot reservation. You'll have all-day access to both parks.

Yes - they would need an event lanyard to get into the D23 viewing area. (They can't make exceptions for that because the area usually isn't large enough.) You could always watch HarmonioUS with them somewhere else.

(But then comes the question of where they'll go when the park closes and it's time for you to ride Guardians.)
right now the park calendar has EPCOT closing at 9pm (regular park hours). So, will it "close down" is my question. if not, then I am happy to wait with them somewhere while Harmonious is happening and even if they had tickets to the event they could not ride and so there would be a "rider swap" situation. I am fine buying their tickets but if they don't get to ride then what is the point? I am going to tell my daughter to just renew so that we don't have issues and she can buy her/fiancé's tickets and my husband and I will buy each of the grandson's tickets.

the tricky part will be buying tickets for myself and one grandson then trying to buy the other ticket for the hubs and other grandson (DH as no clue what memberships websites to visit (he has never been on the DVC site..lol). maybe using 2 different devices will work best since they may sell out.

It shouldn’t. For remy if you had another park reservation you ended up with two that day

I'd buy the tickets... Likly the whole area will be blocked off and no one but those with lanyards will be allowed in. And it's hard to say how things will go as far as your wait times - child swap might take a bit, and they are just sitting around and waiting? Not like they can go do another attraction or even get some snacks.

It's up to you, but i could not more strongly suggest to just wait for another opportunity to ride. It's all of the variables here. Are they even going to offer rider swap for a ticketed event, for example - will they even be allowed into the building at all. (This is different from an AP preview.) And what happens if you really only can get two tickets? (The real question with D23 events is whether you'll be able to get tickets at all.)

The easy answer is just enjoy the day with your grandkids and wait until later.

Thanks for your input. I am sure there will be other children at the event that will not be tall enough to ride-making rider swap a necessity . My daughter, her fiancé and two of my grandsons, ages 8 and 4 will be there and there will be four of us adults.
My daughter is going to upgrade her D23 membership today and make her fiancé her affiliate so that everyone will have a chance to get a ticket. Going the D23 route is the only way her fiancé would get to ride on this trip since he is not APH or DVC member.

The Ratatouille preview event, which cost twice as much and was for a less hyped ride, sold out immediately. Which isn’t to say don’t try, but if you’re trying to do multiple transactions, I would definitely have another member of your family logged in and trying to get the tickets at the same time. And I definitely wouldn’t bank on getting them. As with most things Disney, this is just going to be a wifi lottery determined in half a second.

you can't give the tickets to someone else though so if only one gets them, that specific D23 account holder has to go. so if only you get them then you can only bring daughter or fiance, you cant give to them to go together. You really need a plan.

I have a plan:

I am able to buy ONE extra ticket-grandson 1 and my husband buys ONE extra ticket-grandson 2

My daughter will buy ONE extra ticket-fiancé.

we will be logged in (me on desktop, husband's account on laptop and daughter on her laptop) and ready to go when tickets go on sale.

Disney Park Pass availability suggests possible dates for 'Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind' Annual Passholder previews

Disney Park Pass availability for EPCOT is becoming increasingly scarce during the middle of May 2022, leading up to the May 27 debut of 'Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind.'

The latest Park Pass availability calendar shows no availability for EPCOT on May 10, 16, 18, 19, 20, and 21.

EPCOT Park Pass Availability at capacity for May 27 for Passholders
All other parks area still have passes available on those dates, and EPCOT is typically the last park to reach Park Pass capacity. This suggests that Disney may be blocking out passholder availability to assign to previews for 'Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind.'

Disney is yet to confirm dates for the passholder previews, but has said that they are coming.

That's not as good a plan as you're imagining. As we're trying to tell you, the odds of getting three separate sets of tickets to a D23 event are very, very small. Most the time, it sells out while most people are still in the queue.

The real plan is probably: whichever of you manages to get tickets takes your daughter's fiance.

Not saying getting six tickets is impossible, but I don't think any of us would bank on it. (Especially now that it's 2 tickets per person.)

I just dont think you understand how fast they go and how unlikely it is all of you will get them. but good luck.

I booked trip for Mar 18-23 …here is hoping those dates hold out to be true for AP preview. …and that I get a slot.

So glad I booked Epcot for May 16th weeks ago. My co-workers and I are having dinner at Yachtman's Steakhouse that night. So figured I would just walk over to Epcot afterward. So went and booked Epcot that day. Looks like that may pay off!

My heart skipped a beat I thought this was the preview calendar lol

You need a back up and a back up to your back up
The odds of you getting even 1 D23 pass are slim
Getting 3? Go right then and buy lottery tickets because you are the luckiest person on earth.
Which means no, it's not impossible but it's darn near it. You stand a better chance of winning the lottery than getting 3 sets of D23 passes.
Good luck. I wish they didn't make it so hard
