If they're ending mask mandates on planes then I'm hoping they'll soon drop the test requirement for fully vaxed to board a plan that's U.S. bound.

I came here to see if anyone else noticed. Delta is dropping it's mandate as of 8:15 PM EDT. WOO HOOO!!

Doesn't make any difference to me, I'll be masking up on the plane next week anyway. One thing wearing a mask around large groups of people indoors for the last two years or so has taught me is that by wearing a mask, I don't get any of the non Covid crud that's always making the rounds like flu, colds, etc.

Well, Disney claimed the only reason they had a mandate on transportation was their transportation fell under the all public transportation umbrella. I understand that each entity can make their own decision and that this simply means they aren't required to require them now so we'll see what Disney does. They kept them indoors longer than most so they may well keep them on transportation longer too. Though public backlash is stronger now than it once was so really, I can see them going either way.

Just to be accurate: The judge only struck down a portion of the cloth mask airplane mandate. A can of soda, or bag of pretzels already struck down the first 45 minutes worth of it. And a first class ticket struck down about 2 hours.

all I know is the airlines and unions all we're pushing to have the mandate removed. They don't want to be required to wear them either. Doesn't sound like someone worried they'll get sick

Actually, the airline flight attendant union is not taking a position on this as the members are divided on masks or no masks.

No where does it say you can’t wear a mask. This is a personal choice that every American should be thankful to have. We live in a free country so if you feel like it’s beneficial to wear a mask go ahead. But don’t criticize anyone who feels they don’t need to.

I don't think anyone is saying variants don't exist. BUT, each variant appears to be getting less severe (wasn't that expected?), especially for those vaccinated. IMO, the number of people testing positive isn't really important any more. It's how severe it is. If people are able to self treat at home, why treat Covid different than a case of the flu or a cold?

If you'd like to wear a mask on public transportation (or basically anywhere), go right ahead. Personally, I'm not convinced they really help much, but you do you.

Lol. The pilots have never worn masks. They don’t even have to hide it. They were exempted when seated at their “duty station” — cockpit door closed, masks off.

I am not in denial, but the cloth masks that many people wear will not prevent other people from getting covid. Everyone can do what makes them feel comfortable, whether that be a well fitting n95 or nothing. The new BA2.1.2 is very transmissible, but is less severe.
