If they're ending mask mandates on planes then I'm hoping they'll soon drop the test requirement for fully vaxed to board a plan that's U.S. bound.Just saw many of the airlines immediately ending the mask mandate. Don't have a question - just surprised I haven't seen a thread!
I came here to see if anyone else noticed. Delta is dropping it's mandate as of 8:15 PM EDT. WOO HOOO!!Just saw many of the airlines immediately ending the mask mandate. Don't have a question - just surprised I haven't seen a thread!
This….cases are already rising again, and why do you think China has Shanghai in total lockdown?Be ready for cancelled flights in about two weeks. That's what happened to foreign airlines when they dropped the mask mandates--huge spike in cases for crew and pilots that led to cancelled flights :/
Well, Disney claimed the only reason they had a mandate on transportation was their transportation fell under the all public transportation umbrella. I understand that each entity can make their own decision and that this simply means they aren't required to require them now so we'll see what Disney does. They kept them indoors longer than most so they may well keep them on transportation longer too. Though public backlash is stronger now than it once was so really, I can see them going either way.Since this includes transportation, wonder if Disney will keep or get rid of the mandate on busses, etc..
Augh! I hope you're wrong. We're flying Southwest both next Tuesday and the following Tuesday.Be ready for cancelled flights in about two weeks. That's what happened to foreign airlines when they dropped the mask mandates--huge spike in cases for crew and pilots that led to cancelled flights :/

all I know is the airlines and unions all we're pushing to have the mandate removed. They don't want to be required to wear them either. Doesn't sound like someone worried they'll get sickAugh! I hope you're wrong. We're flying Southwest both next Tuesday and the following Tuesday.
Actually, the airline flight attendant union is not taking a position on this as the members are divided on masks or no masks.all I know is the airlines and unions all we're pushing to have the mandate removed. I don't think anyone is saying variants don't exist. BUT, each variant appears to be getting less severe (wasn't that expected?), especially for those vaccinated. IMO, the number of people testing positive isn't really important any more. It's how severe it is. If people are able to self treat at home, why treat Covid different than a case of the flu or a cold?I guess we can all pretend the covid variants don't exist and hope for the best. Have yet to see where being in denial, wishful thinking or optimistic rhetoric makes anyone immune to covid.

I am not in denial, but the cloth masks that many people wear will not prevent other people from getting covid. Everyone can do what makes them feel comfortable, whether that be a well fitting n95 or nothing. The new BA2.1.2 is very transmissible, but is less severe.I guess we can all pretend the covid variants don't exist and hope for the best.
