Heading over to CCR tomorrow for a few days. Does anyone know - is the Boat running between WL & Campground?

Can anyone speak to transportation from MK to WL shortly before lunchtime? Planning on a Whispering Canyon lunch for DH for Father’s Day. Would you recommend bus or boat? And how long before ADR should we be at the bus/boat stop? Thanks all.

The boat dock is right in front of the MK exit. So you will be able to see if a boat is waiting or close to docking before you decide whether to take the boat or bus. The boats are really nice and the best way to go. The WL boat dock is close to Geyser Point. :)

You will need to give yourself at least a half hour lead time, since the boats run every 20 minutes and the boat ride is about 12 minutes long. The bus ride is only about 5 minutes long but there is a wait time for that, too.

I couldn’t remember how often the boats run, thanks so much! I’m one of those annoying “if you’re not early, you’re late” people so we’ll plan on 45 minutes to an hour. WL is one of our favs, and since not staying there this time it won’t be a hardship to hang out if we’re early! Thanks again!

What is allowed at the pools in terms of floatation devices? I have a 2.5 year old, can he have arm floaties? Thanks in advance!

I know bus transit used to start at 6:30am to Magic Kingdom, pre-Covid. Can anyone who has visited recently confirm if that’s still the case? We have a breakfast reservation at Chef Mickeys at 7:40am, and plan to get on the first bus to Magic Kingdom and walk over, but we wanted to make sure that we can actually make that time.

VWL is the original name for what’s now Boulder Ridge. As above, CCV is much newer but consists of renovated WL hotel rooms, so while newer and lovely the CCV villas are smaller than the BRV villas.
If you are an owner at CCV can you book at BR 11 months in advance too? Like at AKL Jambo/Kidani allow each other to book at the other resort 11 months out.

Just got back from our most recent WL stay and (of course) loved it.

The house keeping though really irked me. I get it - clean sheets/towels every other day. If I needed something, I felt like I could ask and that’s fine.

But what really bothered me - we stayed in one of the recently renovated rooms. They are lovely, lots of thoughtful details like reading lights built into the headboards and all hardwood (or looked like hardwood floors). We came back to our room after it had been serviced (no cute Disney towel shapes which is not big deal at all but just, sigh, another thing gone), some sprinkles from a cookie had fallen on the floor and there were ants all over it and I found ants in the room.

Now, I get it, bugs in Florida isn’t earth shattering but if they had taken 5 extra min to vacuum or swifter the very easy to clean floor, it would have been fine. I’m peeved to have paid over $500 per night and finding completely preventable ants in the room.

Rant over.

I must have missed that the resort boat loop has not returned yet! I thought it was in place since Disney's website says nothing about it being out of service.

Has anyone heard any rumblings on a timeline for its return? I am staying at Wilderness Lodge/Copper Creek in June. I have a dinner at California Grill and a midday break during my MK day to grab lunch at Steakhouse 71. I had hoped to be able to take the boat to Contemporary for dinner, and back to WL from Steakhouse 71 to refresh in our room.

Nothing so far. Maybe when Hoop Dee Doo reopens???

We’ve stayed on the BRV side of WL before but DH and I are planning a trip and wanting to try just the king rooms in the main building. I’ve seen some Disboards trip reports of regular standard view rooms that have fireworks views. When looking at booking categories though there is also a category to book a fireworks view. I fully understand booking the view you want instead of just “hoping”, but does anyone have an idea of how many (if any) of the standard king bed rooms possibly have the fireworks view? We have booked lake view rooms at both Poly and GF and loved them, but at BRV we were on the first floor and the resort is just relaxing in it’s own way, so it wasn’t as big of a deal. Trying to decide if it’s worth the upgrade when most likely we would be in a park at fireworks time anyway or book standard and just enjoy it if we happen to get lucky?!

According to touring plans, there are 9 rooms that are standard view King bed that have a chance of seeing the fireworks (floors 4 and 6).
However, those rooms also overlook a service area. We've stayed there once and while seeing the tops of the fireworks was great, the loud trucks beeping at 5-6am was not so great...

The resort boat isn't running yet. You will be able to get to the Contemporary from the WL by taking the Disney Springs bus. It stops at CR before going to Disney Springs, but double check with the bus driver just in case.

You will need to walk to the MK bus depot from the CR to catch the bus back to the WL. Or you can walk to the boat dock to catch the WL boat, but that is a father walk than the bus depot.
