How do Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer compare lately ??

Can someone help me on picking times for Sunshine Flyer? They make you pick the times and it’s confusing. It says pick the time your flight arrives. I’m supposed to arrive at 10:11am. And for the pick up, do I pick the time three hours before my flight or when my plane is supposed to leave? Confused. Thanks!

You will choose the 10-11 a.m. bus. The website says:

Please select the hour in which your flight arrives
Your exact bus departure time will be based on your hour of arrival and your flight information. After you collect your bags at Baggage Claim, please proceed directly to the Sunshine Flyer location in Terminal B, Level 1. We will be waiting to direct you to your bus. Please select the hour in which your plane Arrives/Departs from MCO. Your bus transfer time will be emailed to your prior to your dates.

For the return trip, pick the time your flight leaves. In the FAQ, it says:

The day before you check out, you’ll receive a confirmation email advising you of the motorcoach departure time, which will be approximately 3-3.5 hours prior to your scheduled departure time for domestic flights and 4 hours prior to your scheduled departure time for international flights.

So if my flight leaves at 3:45pm, I should pick 3:00pm? Thank you!

Yep. In the drop down arrow, it says: Please select the hour in which your flight departs Orlando International Airport.

Some people might go close to 4 p.m. if they don't want to risk a super early pickup. It's up your personal risk tolerance.

Thank you. This has been super helpful. So if my flight is supposed to land at 10:11am, would you pick the 10:00am? Again, I appreciate it. Never used this before.

On June 23, after all of our flight issues, my son and I arrived in Orlando. Mears scanned my QR code at 540pm. We were on a bus at 543pm, and the bus departed about 20 minutes later. It was less than half full. Was filled with guests from AOA, Pop, Coronado, and All Star Sports. First stop was AOA. We got off at the second stop, Pop Century.

On June 26, we took Mears back to MCO. When I originally signed up, my flight departed at 615pm but was later pushed back to 646pm. I didn't update the time with Mears. The day before, I got another email with the QR code and our bus time - 305pm. At about 245pm, I got a text with the driver information and a link to track his location. The tracking was not accurate. It said he was still at MCO but he arrived right around 3. I got an updated text when he was "on location" but that was a few minutes before he arrived as well. Picked up 2-3 families at Pop, before heading to CBR. No one got on at CBR and we headed to the airport.

Worked great for us. As I mentioned, we had flight issues getting down to MCO. I was concerned with how I update that information with them but their website said that the QR code is good for 48 hours before/arrive your original flight time.

So unless you are traveling in the next 5 weeks pricing will be going up.
correction, unless you BOOK in the next few weeks pricing will go up.... our trip isn't til January 2023, I booked Sunshine Flyer yesterday and secured the kids travel free promotion, it states in the promotion your trip can fall after July 31st you just have to book by then

I decided to go with Mears because I liked how my specific flight time is entered. My departure flight is at 10:34 pm and SF only had an option for 9-10 pm. I don’t want to possibly get picked up at 6 pm. I hope it works well for us. I was previously booked with Tony Hinds but cancelled due to so many recent bad reviews. I figure even if Mears isn’t the greatest I won’t be so upset paying $64 vs. $160 plus tip.

I don't know how it will be once we get to MCO but customer service of Sunshine Flyer replied to my email within a few minutes after I sent it. hoping for the same efficiency at MCO.

I just booked Sunshine Flyer for our family trip in Oct.
I've always (unless we did a town car) used Mears even before Magical Express. We'll see how it goes.

Has anyone used Sunshine Flyer for an early 5:00am pickup to the airport? I will need a pick up in January from the Wyndham on Hotel Plaza Blvd and was wondering if they are as reliable picking up from that hotel as they are picking up from a Disney resort. What are your opinions also about Mears Connect for that same transfer to the airport? I really don’t want to have to scramble for transportation if the bus doesn’t show that early in the morning.

Never mind about my question. I just looked and looks like Sunshine Flyer only does Disney resorts. They don’t look to pick up for those staying on Hotel Plaza Blvd. I assumed they did since I know Mears Connect does pick up and drop off for those hotels.

You can schedule an Uber or a Lyft the day before.

I compared Sunshine & FL Tours, we chose FL Tours, our own car, driver meets you at baggage, grocery stop on the way to the Disney Hotel, & total cost for 2 people in SUV was $195 (tip not included, so add tip for each driver round trip).. I REALLY miss the Disney Magical Express.. But we used FL Tours on a prior Universal Trip & they were great & stopped at Publix on the way there.

We've used FL Tours in the past as well with NON Disney trips and they are great! But man, when you compare their prices to Sunshine & Mears...OUCH! I don't recall them being this expensive in the past. BUT, I'm leaning toward using them again in December, just because I know their service is top notch! Haven't quite decided yet.
