Everything Virtual Queue - Please Read Posts 1 and 2

Yes, according to Thrill-Data, today's VQ lasted until 3:48! This is not the norm but it has been lasting much longer this week.

Crowds have been relatively low this week. There was a massive drop off at the end of last week heading into the weekend.

Edit:
For reference we waited about 15/20 min max last night at 10:25pm for 7dmt before emh on a posted 65. The queue was completely inside the building.

This is a disservice to those depending on wait times being accurate (DAS holders). Disney used to make an effort to have accurate times; but with G+ and ILL, an incentive to inflate those wait time numbers.

They’ve always done this near park close. And remember that sometimes actual waits can be longer than posted waits.

One time Soarin was posted at 45 and took almost 90 minutes because a theater went down. It was a disservice to me for them to let DAS holders who requested their return time after I got in line ahead of me in the LL.

It works both ways.

Don’t DAS holders use the LL on Soarin? How would they all be let in ahead of those also in LL?

@nalabear over inflating return time near closing has always been a thing. With LL and ILL, Disney appears to be inflating standby time or VQ. They probably get less flack if a person waits less in queue than if it’s more.

Both GotG and TRON have estimated wait times that are almost always inaccurate when the VQ is made. Every time I’ve gone on GotG (whether I made it at 7am or 1pm), my return time was about an hour ahead of the estimated time.

I wasn’t using the LL - I meant they were using the LL earlier when I was in standby. But I have seen VIP tour groups go into the unused queue space and skip everyone in the LL when the LL is backed up.

DAS holders wait the time estimated for standby and again in the LL. They do not get front-of-line access.

Disney used to do the red tag lanyards consistently to get accurate times. They don't anymore. Haven't seen a red lanyard since reopening -- has anyone else?

Disney has an actual incentive to inflate the standby times to push G+ and ILL sales. They should be honest on the standby times with true data with those timed red tags.

Thrill data reflects the consistently lower queue times too. We use that to guide our next rides more now since the app really doesn't reflect times well anymore.

They subtract 10 minutes from the wait time when calculating DAS return times to account for the LL wait. It can be longer than 10 minutes but 10 minutes is a good estimate in many situations, at least to get past merge.

And may return any time past return time to account for any disability related delays. They just can’t get another DAS until the current one is used or deleted.

But this is the VQ/BG for GotG and TRON. Let’s go back to discussion about only those two attractions.

Hi all! I need advice on securing Tron VQ on our check in day which is also our only MK day next trip the first week of May.
If we get a time at 7am and are unable to make it when we are called, can we get another time at 1 or are we done for the day?
We will be driving in that morning and should arrive fairly early but I'm stressed hearing how much times have been moving up and that you will not be allowed to be late. We really want to ride so if trying at 7am may kick us out I'm wondering if we should just wait and try at 1 pm but was hoping to check in and eat so I'm not sure we will be in MK at 1pm to book.
Thanks for any and all advice!

I would take my chance with the 7am BG. Keep an eye on it and if you miss your time you can remove everyone from the boarding group and try again at 1pm. Make sure you remove everyone before 1pm if you're going to try for that one.

Sorry, I've tried to keep up with this thread but I've seen differing reports online about one thing. Do you have to have tapped into your first park of the day (with park hoppers) in order to be eligible for the 6PM EEH Tron or Guardians VQ? I've seen people say that even with park hoppers, if they tapped in for their first park of the day, they were still ineligible for the EEH VQs because they were supposed to have tapped into the park hosting the EEH. So, do you have to have tapped into either MK or EP in order to be eligible for the 6PM EEH Tron or Guardians VQ? Lastly, if neither of those things is true, can you attempt the 6PM EEH VQ without having tapped into ANY park for the day?

Thank you for any responses. I thought it might be nice to just roll up to a park for the EEH and take the morning/afternoon off, but then I read people said you must have tapped into a park (any park with park hopper). Then I started reading that actually, you have to have tapped into the EEH park before 6PM. I was just hoping for some more recent experiences.

You have to tap into a park if you have hoppers. For this past Wednesday I went to AK for the morning and was able to grab tron in the car to dinner without having had tapped into MK

Just be careful with EEH if names on resort or multiple rooms. That screwed up our EEH group confirmations and needed Guest Services to handle the issue. MDE Chat wasn't any help. They kept saying needed to tap into the actual park itself to be EEH -- not true. :(

Thanks! Thats super helpful-I didnt know we could remove ourselves from a Boarding Group once assigned. We just realized that we will be able to attend the deluxe late night hours and can try at 6pm so I am much less stressed about the earlier times now, but my kids would not complain a bit about being able to ride twice in one day!!

If we do try at 7am would the BG time be before 1 when the next groups are assigned? I have used VQ for Guardians many times but they are much less strict so I dont know the actual "rules" very well :)

7am groups are usually called before 1pm or right after depending on how the ride is operating.

I had a party of 6 on Wednesday and we got boarding group 11. Only two members of my party used it. I removed the others and tried again at the 1pm drop (actually it was at 309pm). I was able to get the other 4 people into boarding group 180.

Forgive me if this is covered somewhere - I did a search, and didn’t see anything. I’ve seen reports a few weeks ago of people missing their BG for Tron and then trying for another BG at the 1:00pm drop and being successful as long as they have tapped into MK. Does anyone know of any more recent success stories or were those outliers and that isn’t a normal occurrence? Obvs this doesn’t work for GotG because you’re generally still allowed to enter the queue anytime after your BG is called, so you never really miss it.

Edit: I see I missed an example of someone doing just that right above my question!

Can I just double check that someone’s got experience of removing EVERYONE from the boarding group and then trying again at 1pm? We’re coming across from Universal on our first MK day and won’t be in the park for opening. Ideally we’d like to ride before lunch (and so would want to get a boarding group at 7am) but if it looks like our boarding group is likely to be called before we get there, then being able to “cancel” it and try again at 1pm would be great!
