Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween 2023 Super Thread

:( We did call just minutes after the transaction went through and pleaded that we made an honest mistake. They refused to void/refund. "Gift to a friend" was the response. I'm a generous person, but not $1,000+ generous. And I don't live in the area; I don't have friends that can easily make a trip to Disney. Sigh. What a journey.
You might call again and see if you get a more flexible CM. We have had last minute change of plans, and WDW did refund our MNSSHP tickets in 2021. You just never know. Sometimes it is just getting the right CM at the right time. I know it is a pain to take even more time to call them...

I would not call. I would email.

Are you oopsing me? It's perfectly allowable for tickets to be transferred between friends, even new friends. (See the above post reminding us to be careful how we word things.) As someone who sat online for nine hours yesterday and never got in, I would love to make friends with a fellow Dis-er who has extra tickets for the day I need. But I can't because the Dis-er is too new for me to message them...a fact they may not know.
I did not know how messages work, so I do appreciate the information.
And everyone's tips about communication with Disney Ticketing. I'm sure all the CMs were under a great deal of stress yesterday.

I mean, I really don’t want to get involved with talk of ticket sales … but the poster you are addressing has already stated that they don’t wish to gift their tickets. So what you’re suggesting is crossing the line in my opinion in regard to the rules (both Disney’s and here on DISboards).

Edited to add: I understand the disappointment. I did not get the tickets I needed so my niece and SIL can join us. But I'm not going to break any rules so they are just not going to come with us this year.

So it seems as if the discussion about skirting ways to buy and or sell tickets continues. Going forward we will begin issuing warnings and points.

Please refrain from any mention of buying, selling, how to buy or sell, making friends to buy or sell, etc... It is against our policy as well as Disney's policy!

Thank you!

You are incorrect in your assertion that it is against Disney's policy. The policy is "Tickets are nonrefundable and may not be resold or transferred for commercial purpose." Disney has no rule against face-value transfers.

It's fine to want the rules followed, but I don't think it's cool to scare people by referring to policies that don't exist. It is a fine line ... but the details matter.

However, if Dis policy goes farther than Disney policy, I'll curtail my comments in this direction.

I sold my tickets (for the face value, i didn’t make a penny, in fact i lost money because of listing fees) on some site suggested to me by a disney influencer. I sold them because we had to cancel the trip. It is possible.

This boards policy is to not talk about buying or selling tickets! So yes, please curtail your comments about either or! Thank you!

Anyone remember when they announced treat trail characters last year? Was there an announcement? I can’t remember. I know the food guide didn’t come out until the day before fall events started.
I feel like we got a sneak preview at halfway to Halloween last year (where they announced Madam Mim, but we're past that now. I hope they come out with more info soon, now we just have to plan for the parties!

We got a teaser for the new treat trail characters end of June last year. That was even before sales started. Then a sheet started floating around that was mostly wrong shortly before the events started.

Yes, last year I think they set it up near the Magic Key seating area. I remember being glad for this, especially after seeing photos of the lines at the DCA gates right at early mix-in time.

It is at Blue Sky Cellar near the Wine Country Trattoria.

Does anyone remember what time they start checking in here? 3pm?

No. I was ooopppsing because I had just written a lengthy post about the taboo subject…couldn’t delete it, so just erased it. I don’t want Tina to come after me…. i depend on this board for too much other important info…like Rogers the Musical and what’s going on over at AC…

Since I have no dog in this fight, I will just say have fun all you Halloween folks, hope it’s everything you hoped for !

Yes if I remember correctly check in starts at 3. I remember last year I checked in right away so I could go line up for the Sanderson Sisters. I don't know if I will meet them again this year or not. I'm hoping the line won't be as long this year but I have a feeling it will be.

I'm so sad I missed them last year especially since I was dressed as Dani. But things just didn't work out since I got in closer to party time due to being at D23 panels until the last moment. So missed my chance to line up early.

Maybe this year 🤞

Madame Mim might be there? I didn’t look at much of the stuff from last year because I was so disappointed about having to cancel my trip the year before. I would love to see Madame Mim! Was she on the trail, or a specific meet and greet? Oogie and Ernesto are on the trail, correct?

That may have been one of the posted locations, but we definitely checked in and got our wristbands and bags at the Magic Key table area (not the MK Terrace). I just looked at a photo :-)

Yes madame mim was a trail last year, as was oogie and Ernesto. Maleficent Sid dr faciliier and curella were the others I remember. I’m not sure if I’m missing one or not.

The word “trail” is a bit deceiving because they’re really nothing more than a queue with like 4 bins of candy that cast members are handing out on your way to see the particular villain. Those villains are usually up on a pedestal or stage interacting with guests as they walk by (or who stand and watch for a bit). Not really a photo op where you can take a photo with said villain because they’re up on a stage so you can sort of do a selfie with them in the background, but that’s about as close as you can get with them.

These are not to be confused with “Villains Grove” which is a walk-through trail that does not contain any actual villains. However, it’s a fun walk-through that features spooky lighting and lighted themes from movies where you can take selfies and do videos of yourself as you walk through.

Lastly, there are the actual character photo opportunities (listed as Character Experiences) where there is a line that one would wait in to take a photo with Disney characters. The Sanderson sisters (Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle) were fun, but we got in line late and Daisy was missing so we only got to meet/see/take pics with Minnie and Clarabelle. Hopefully this year we will see all three. My fave is to take a photo with Mickey dressed in his halloween themed costume.

If you’re looking to see Haunted Mansion and Nightmare characters, then the best place for that, aside from Oogie himself, is in the parade. I personally love the parade because it’s the only time to get to see a halloween themed parade at Disney parks, and, for me, it’s a can’t-miss experience. I love the parade.
