Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

So I wouldn't say it's automatic. I think cast members have the ability to give out so much pixie dust; it just depends if the right one sees you wearing your pin and wants to. I have seen it happen though and my son has gotten several things on his birthday.
One time I had my birthday pin on at Captain Cook's when picking up a mobile order. It was extremely crowded. A CM saw me, asked if I had a food allergy, and shoved multiple desserts in my bag. I was blown away. I couldn't believe she spotted the pin in a sea of people and ran over to me to sprinkle some pixie dust.

Another trip Poly CMs knocked on my door with a box of chocolates, Honolulu Cookie Company cookies, and balloons. I've spent many celebrations at Poly, but this year I got something special delivered to my room.

The little moments like this really make Disney feel special. I go in expecting nothing and if something happens it's just a pleasant surprise!

how do you get your lei? Do you have to ask someone for it?
The leis are available from the Bell Services desk at the porte cochere in front of the resort and at the front desk once you enter the lobby. Sometimes there is a CM greeting people when you enter the lobby that also has them to give out. You can always ask for one even if you're not staying at the resort.

I’ll be staying in a Poly Studio for the first time in October. I’m so excited! It’s been a bucket list thing of mine for a while.

I was wondering if Captain Cook’s is the only place to refill mugs.

So if taking the monorail to Epcot is it better to just walk to the TTC? How long of a walk is it?

It depends on your start point, but around 5-10 mins. You’ll go through security at the TTC before boarding, usually that’s easy but at times (eg, rope drop) may be more of a crowd.

Personally we always prefer walking vs taking the Resort Monorail all the way around (which requires stops at GF, MK, CR, then TTC).

No question. To get to the TTC from the Poly you stop at GF, Magic Kingdom, and then contemporary...the walk even from the furthest poly building is less than 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. From the closer buildings 5..we stayed at Tokelau and were there in no time.

Thank you! We will be in one of the DVC rooms so will be on the side closest to TTC. Hoping for Tokelau.

Hello. New to this thread as we are considering a two-night stay over Labor Day weekend.

I've read earlier in this post about the rooms with the construction view, which we would ideally want to avoid. We also need a room that sleeps 5. Are their resort-view rooms with 5th sleepers in all of the buildings? Or only certain locations.

Poly is a stretch for our budget so I don't think I can upgrade to the water view ($60 more per night) and I'm not finding availability in the villas for our dates.

The Poly was the first one to get it and all the cash rooms have it. First thing I did was unplug it

This made me laugh!! If Disney rolls these out across property, I will be doing the same thing. I don't even have one at home. It's bad enough our cellphones are "listening" to us. I don't need Alexa doing the same.

A friend of mine and her family stayed at the Poly in April and loved the Disney Alexa. She used it to read stories to her toddler, play music and ask the weather and park hours.
