Priceline Express Deals

I looked as well on Priceline and Hotwire. You may want to see if a split stay would work!

Definitely check a split stay--Priceline is definitely weird about showing availability. It has shown different resorts available for me when I checked each night of my stay individually than one stay for the whole thing.

This thread or at least the last 10 pages or so has been a very interesting read. Don't know if I would ever have the courage to book like this. So my question is, has anyone out there ever booked like this and regretted what resort they got? For those who are pros at this, do you book one night at a time or go for your whole stay with one booking? I doubt I would ever be able to pull the trigger on booking my resort stay like this.

I felt the same way, I was very nervous but I just booked 4 nights for $166 in All Star Sports using an express deal with the help of the hotel canary extension. That extension told me that I would be getting either All Star Sport or Art of Animation. It’s a short stay so we were okay with either. If you can find a good deal for your whole stay then absolutely do it all at once, but if not you could book 1 night in the hotel & then try to add more on the confirmation page as it gives you the option to “book another night” & “add a room.”

I put the canary app on my computer, but is it always right?

I’ve been periodically checking for our dates (March 5-12) without much luck so far, but if anyone spots a great deal on a moderate or deluxe I’d love to know. So many great finds recently.

Splitting into single nights is actually finding even fewer choices for me, and I was about to share details of a promising looking moderate but when I clicked throughout to bed choices it offered 1/2/3 bedroom suites so I guess that’s not a Disney mod! (The price for a 3 bedroom suite was tempting, though, as we’re a three generation group currently booked into two rooms at POFQ.)

I just booked 7 nights at AKL for $180/night! That was scary and exciting!

The my disney experience page is not accepting the hotel confirmation number in the email (yet), I tried Priceline chat who said the number should be working, I'll wait a day and try again then ring Disney.

It can take a couple of days for the reservation to be live in the Disney system. I had to call to add my kids to the reservation, had booked on Priceline on Tuesday and it was Friday before Disney Wholesale could see my booking. But everything has been smooth sailing ever since!

How do I contact Disney Wholesale?

Nevermind, I found the number.

I booked an express deal for AK villas and got Jambo house! Then it took a full week for my confirmation to work with Disney. It was really freaking me out especially since an acquaintance with DVC said that currently, there isn't even full availability during my stay for a standard studio.

I am now confirmed in MDE as a standard view deluxe studio at Jambo House. After a taxes/fees and applying a coupon code I only paide $169/night. I am wondering how this works when the DVC site was already saying that there was not full availability? Maybe we will be given any DVC room available at check-in even if it larger or an upgraded view?

You have to be happy with whatever resort, in the zone you select, has the amenities listed. Years ago PL offered Disney hotels in then name your own price booking service. One poster had a reservation with Disney at movies and wanted to add nights at a lower price. They got sports and was upset, Claimed they were going to throw away the room.

AFAIK Disney resorts are the only resorts without a resort fee. That means you can be pretty sure you're getting a Disney resort. Don't us an oblique booking agent unless you're flexible. CSR is about to add a tower. It wouldn't be a reach to think rooms might appear. A convention blocks extra rooms. They get released some might appear in PL.

Assume you're expecting AKL. Some people would consider BC an upgrade, some a downgrade (if kids were looking forward to animals) and some don't care. Assume you'll wind up with the least desirable resort possible. Can you live with at, at the price you'll be paying? If not run.

Does anyone have a coupon code they wouldn't mind PM'ing me?

This thread has been so incredibly informative and helpful. I've booked priceline before, but never for Disney. I've been a loyal 'free dining' customer for a number of stays, but I'm officially a convert to these deals! We're even considering turning our tickets into an annual pass via price bridging at the end of our trip so we can be flexible and go back whenever we see a good deal pop up for dates that work for us.

Is your friend looking at the DVC reservation tool for your dates or the regular Walt Disney World resort website? The available AKL room you got is most likely a cash reservation through Disney from people that traded out their AKL points to things like cruises, RCI, adventures by Disney, etc or rooms sold to Disney from DVC for cash reservations since it is so close to arrival or someone cancelled and points went into holding. DVC is very interesting and you will find availability on the Disney website for cash that DVC cannot book via points because it has been traded out and not available on the DVC website.
