Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Most of the Village Green views are studios and there are 7 studios on floors 2 to 5 with one 1 bedroom on each floor :cloud9: The Village Green view rooms fall in the pool/garden booking category and of course, it is only a request and not a guarantee :rolleyes1

Correct. That is why we always booked Boardwalk View as a DVC member.

You'll either get the leisure pool, Luna Park pool, Village Green (studios only), a slight peek at the Disney Channel from the end of the building or inside the pool area. But not the Boardwalk since that is a specific booking category.

I dont know what you are talking about. When I booked on Disney site, it said water view-views of boardwalk and crescent lake.

She is referring to a DVC booking. So you booked Boardwalk Inn through Disney reservations?

Yep! I was under the impression those were some of the room views for the category I booked. If they are only DVC, then that means I will definitely have a full on Boardwalk view!

No, the BW view is only available for points stays. Not available for cash stays.

I'm not staying DVC.

I'm sorry, I'm very confused. I booked water view, Boardwalk Inn. That is Boardwalk,/Crescent Lake view. Right??

I apologize if this is a DVC thread, I didn't realize!

I believe you are right. There is always confusion with water view at Disney; because some resorts consider practically a fountain to be water view and at others it’s a view of the lake and not a pool, Fountain, etc.. Then throw in that here there is the Inn and the DVC side. I do think in your case you should have a full in view of the Boardwalk and/or crescent lake from the Inn (resort) side.

I will also say that I follow the resort threads of many resorts that have both resort and DVC rooms (BC/YC, Poly,GF, CR, AKL, and this one) and of all do them this is by far the thread where the answers get all mixed up between resort and DVC rooms. I’m not sure why that is, but there is confusion over and over again on this thread when this comes up. It seems like for some reason here people
seem to assume DVC, and all other threads it’s almost always resort that is meant and assumed. Maybe there are more DVC rooms at the BW than the others? IDK.

I think part of the confusion is that if you are booking a DVC room at Boardwalk Villas, the view and location you get depends on whether you book with cash through Disney, or are staying on points (whether your own or rented from someone else). I don't think that distinction happens when booking a DVC room at other resorts. And yes, there are more DVC rooms at BoardWalk than at a resort like Beach Club, so people staying in a DVC room at Beach Club are more likely to be DVC members and have fewer questions to post.

Also, this thread has more DVC members answering questions than the YC/BC thread.

It's very confusing when folks book a regular BWI resort/hotel stay, post questions, and the answers are DVC specific.
I know it's been awhile, but I really miss @WDWKOOK . She did a great job of keeping the various questions sorted out.

I agree :thumbsup2

Is @WDWKOOK not around anymore? I recently did a lot of catch up on threads she was active on or ran,so I feel like I’ve read a lot from her. Were they all old, and she isn’t active any more? Then who runs her threads? That’s too bad, she did always post a lot and was very helpful!

Ha, yes! Lesson learned. ;)

For the record, I booked a regular hotel stay, on the Inn side, water view - which is of boardwalk/crescent lake. Thanks all, enjoy your upcoming trips! :)

I agree, she did an amazing job! I haven't seen her around for awhile and miss seeing her informative & cheerful posts :(.

I was wondering the same thing :confused3.

WDWKOOK hasn't posted since December 2017. I am surprised that some people are only aware of it now. Mickeynut1 seems to have taken over and he/she is doing a great job.

We loved our water view room at Boardwalk Inn. I did make a room request because Touring Plans show some water view rooms that are not fully facing the water. I wasn’t sure if their room classifications were accurate, but I thought a request couldn’t hurt.

I guess the lesson is don't assume one way or the other. If someone isn't specific about BWI or BWV, ask. Don't just assume BWV because there are more Villa rooms. The thread title states it is for both, clearly. So there are just as likely to be questions regarding the Resort/Inn side as there are the Villa side. I know I always try to ask if I'm not sure. Or the other option, answer for both, if the answer is different.
