1 night at premium for express pass?

First timer to Universal. So...it's cheaper to buy a night at one of the premium hotels than it is to add express pass onto our 1 day park tickets! Can we do this and just not use the hotel room? We don't need a hotel. The express passes are so expensive, I can't believe it.

Yes, you can do this, no problem. You can pick up your room keys (they double as your Express Pass) early before parks open, and make it over to early entry if desired. You get the EP & early entry perks for both check in and check out day. You can also head over to use the pool if you want.

My friend did this and when she told them at check in that she wasnt actually using the room, they refunded her 50% of the room cost and still got the 2 days worth of express passes. So she basically paid $200 for 2 days worth of unlimited EP for 4 people
