Well, we should be two days away from the GF ... Unfortunately, plans have a nasty habit of falling apart. Our's fell to bits due to illness. So, we are staying home. But, there is sometimes a silver lining. Instead of merely cancelling our reservation, we moved the booking to 2019. So, we have the joy of another twelve months of planning and anticipation! :-)

Now, off to change that ticker ...
So sorry about that. I have BEEN THERE, and it can be so disheartening to say the least. Hope the illness goes bye bye soon.

I have canceled my share of GF vacations...but in only about 2 weeks, my sister and I will be there again. We can hardly contain ourselves! It's been too long without a stay at GF!!

Wait. I am obsessed with the fact you got CL for only $200 more??!! Please share how that happens. I really want to do CL but it adds over $600 to our trip in September.

I had already booked an Outer Building Theme Park view and if you look at pricing, if you "downgrade" to a standard room (no view other then lagoon if you are lucky or marina) it is barely any more money to book. Now if I wanted to book the Theme Park CL room, that wold be a few THOUSAND more ;) I decided as nice as being able to see the castle, it was more worth it to be able to have food at our disposal since we are not doing the dining plan.

Hi all- packing for my upcoming trip and trying to decide if I need to bring my hair dryer... Does the GF have the kind that are attached to the wall? Are they any good or will it take forever to dry my hair? Thanks in advance for any details!

They have a nice decent sized dryer that is stored in the closet under the safe. It does not attach to the wall, so it's not a tiny portable one. I just used it the beginning of this month.

I'm sorry you aren't able to take your trip, but glad you were able to reschedule instead of cancelling altogether :).

Thank you, mickeynut. Yes, while cancelling was tough at the time, being able to reschedule means that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. :-)

Ill try to send you pix at the end of the month to help you with missing GF.

Sorry and hope everything works out for your family.

Oh, trish, pics would be wonderful! :cloud9: And, yes, Mom is doing quite well tucked up at home, waiting to see her medical specialists.

Lisann, it was a little frightening as we were on the first leg of our travels to the U.S. The airline was wonderful and we returned home with very little fuss and bother. I'm sure Mom will be fine once her specialists set to work. As for your trip, oh, those last two weeks are so exciting! Once you get to your single-digit count, and finish packing, you will be dancing in the streets! Safe travels and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful GF stay! Your pics will certainly help the healing process! :-)

Is the only way to get those beautiful 1 BR with kitchen rooms through DVC?? I have been looking on Youtube to get a sense of the resort and rooms and was just blown away by how gorgeous and huge the 1 BR villas are, WOW!!

One other question- what are the benefits of Club Level at the GF? I just realized there is a nominal price difference in the cost per day for a Standard Clob level vs. the Theme Park I have booked and wondering if the loss of Theme Park view is worth upgrading to Club Level. Again, it is Thanksgiving Week so I k now it will be super crowded, etc. Wondering if Club Level gives us breakfast or any other amenities that are worth the switch.

Personally, I could move to the RPCL and live there the rest of my life. Having said that, we did not "grab and go." We sat down every.single.morning and enjoyed everything the RPCL had to offer - the food, the bottomless Mickey waffles, the excellent service from the CMs. We only rope-dropped one day of our entire stay and instead focused on enjoying ourselves at the GF. In the evening we really looked forward to a leisurely dinner that did not require us running back to the hotel to make a specific reservation. Technically, it's all appetizers, but the food is so good and so abundant you won't even notice the lack of entrees. The champagne was excellent. Loved the cocktails. We loved being able to grab sodas and waters to go every day. If you are doing Club Level then you need to stop and smell the roses, or at least enjoy the bottomless Mickey waffles.

You're welcome! Enjoy the planning :).

Glad your mom is doing well :flower3:.

Glad the airline took care of you and you were able to get back home without a lot of hassle. Hope everything with your mom is figured out soon and she has a quick recovery .

I second that :cloud9: The most relaxing part was just enjoying the piano or band while sipping a mimosa. Resort days at RPC is just amazing.

Love it!!!!!!!! It was really great meeting you and your mom, and I look forward to seeing you again at the Poly in July! Hope to meet other Disers on future trips as well!!

Is the beach pool open again after the last refurbishment? Has anyone seen the new cabanas... are they similar to the old ones before the hurricanes last fall? Thanks!
I am here now and the beach pool looks the exact same, renovations are complete. The cabanas look the same also. They added a few sun beds around the beach pool and the quiet pool.
