30 days to go...Let's do this!

Well I missed day 23 on the countdown so we are now at 22 days.
Not a lot happening for the trip today. I have some orders I need to get to work so between that and the laundry I need to get done today there is no real time to do any of the fun stuff. In fact I really should be doing some design mock ups right now but it was too easy to get sucking in to the Dis so I thought I'd check in real quick before actually starting work.

Maybe I can do some fun trip stuff tonight while watching the National Championship game... ROLL TIDE. Maybe that will keep me from yelling at the TV if I'm distracted by Disney stuff.

A young couple happened to be looking for one to do their pregnancy announcement there for the exact date I had so it worked out well.
I bet you made them very happy. :)

You reminded me that I could use this feature for one of our two Space 220 lounge reservations. I'm 90% sure that I want to drop one of them but hate to commit to it yet.

Three weeks from today we will be headed to Disney. THREE WEEKS...21 days! EEK! At this time three weeks from today hubby will be getting home from working half a day to get ready to make the 1 hour and 45 minute drive to the airport we fly out of. Our flight doesn't leave until 5:55 and we have never had any issues there so I am hoping that will be the case on this day. We have only done early morning flights, never in the evening, so I hope things go quickly and smoothly like they normally do. We also will probably wanna grab a quick bite to eat before boarding if we have time. We land at 8:40 Disney time (we lose an hour) and so by the time we land, get our luggage, stop for the grocery pick up and get dropped off at the resort we probably won't want to have to search for food that late. If we can't grab a bite before the flight we will most likely just snack in our room for supper so we can get to bed fairly early and be rested for our first day in the park.

20 days. Not much on the planning front today. My back is killing me so I'm taking it easy today. No work for me except computer work. Truth be known I'll probably spend the day off and on watching vlogs or binge watching something on tv and not even getting much computer work done. Thankfully I have an appointment with the specialist Friday afternoon about my back so hopefully before Disney I can get some relief. Until then I just wait out the pain like I usually do. Hopefully the worse of it won't last more than a couple days like it normally does.

My mask lanyards did come this morning so now the only thing I am waiting on from Amazon are my polka dotted masks.

Does your husband have trouble riding any of the rides? I actually was able to get an appointment with the specialist for this coming Friday,
He doesn’t ride Space Mountain anymore. Sometimes he will skip a rollercoaster here and there if his back is really bothering him. But most he can do at least once. And ironically, what bothers him the most is slow boat rides when the back boat bangs into our boat. He will try and branch himself when it happens. But other than that, he is ok with most rides. He does try to hop in the hot tub each night to loosen up his back as well.

he has taken to really making sure he walks and does the elliptical enough to keep the mussels around his spine strong-ish, to help support the spine and lack of disc padding.Good luck on Friday!

Hubby gets students back this week (he teaches welding at the community college and you can't really wear masks while welding!) So here is hoping we both stay healthy the next few weeks.
I feel like we are all playing Russian roulette these days. I can see how masks around a blow torch could be problematic!

Well I missed a few more days. We are now in the teens...17 days to be exact. Time to pull out the suitcases for real now LOL Well maybe not but since mine stays in my closet in my bedroom it's easy to throw non essentials in there as I think about them. I have my ears picked out for each day but still want to prewash all of our new shirts so I will do that this week. I've been watching the weather predictions and of course they are fluctuating day to day. So far anywhere between high 60's one day to high 70's on another. I'm hoping for my hubby's sake it will lean towards lower 70's (or even upper 60's) instead of upper 70's. Of course a lot can change in 2 1/2 weeks so I will keep an eye on it.

I've also been watching wait times (which I know are inflated on the disney app). They seem to be holding steady where they have been for a couple weeks so I am hoping they go down the next couple weeks. I know I will most likely buy ILL for RotR (and hope it doesn't go down) because I want hubby to ride it but don't want to stand in a 2 hour line.

Thanks for the info. My appointment went okay. I really liked this doctor. He told me when I go back (on the 26th) he would give me an injection to help me make it through my vacation so I shouldn't have any problems with any of the rides.
My husband did a demonstration with his bosses showing how easy it would be for the mask to catch fire and why it wasn't sensible for the students to wear them in their shop. It definitely got the point across.

2 weeks from today for us! I know what you mean about the weather. I look and know it can change in the next 2 weeks. The good thing is that we are taking our camper and we can take clothes for all kinds of weather :)
Glad that your Doctor will be able to help with your pain for the trip!

I had tried to talk hubby into pulling a camper to Disney years ago and he refused. Of course this was when our kids were younger (now they are all adults) and I don't think he wanted us to be in the smaller quarters because by the end of the trip the kids would be fighting too much for him .

16 days and I was finally able to move our Topolino's breakfast to the idea time for us. I wanted around 8:00 but could only get a 9:35 (or it may have been 9:25) time slot. It was okay because we didn't mind missing EPCOT rope drop but I still wanted it earlier just because it Disney and I knew I would be up early anyways. I just randomly looked and was able to snag a 7:45 reservation :cheer2: This makes me so happy because We can eat leisurely and still be headed to EPCOT early (even if we don't arrive in time for early entry).

I totally agree! Luckily it's just the 2 of us :)

I hope the injection helps!!!!! And you can just enjoy the trip!

14 days...two weeks from today we will be flying down to Disney. Time to make sure we have all of our plans finalized. I still have reservations to The Plaza for supper on Saturday the 5th but I am trying to decide if I want to keep it or just do quick service/snacks all day. I would probably prefer to just eat quick service all day but like I've said hubby likes sit down meals. I'll probably hang on to it just in case. I can always cancel closer to time if we decide we would rather just grab quick service.

I am washing our new shirts today so I can officially start packing my clothes later this week. I'll tweak as I need to closer to the actual trip based on the weather forecast but at least I will have a lot of the stuff packed and out of the way. I also need to go through my vacation bathroom bag so I can make sure I don't need to replenish anything from our last vacation. I'm thinking it should be ready to go since our last vacation was a weekend in Nashville and so I didn't have to use a lot since it was a short trip. I need to have hubby do the same with his bag. I also need to start packing my backpack I carry onto the airplane with me and make sure I have a book or two downloaded onto my kindle in case I decide to read instead of watching a movie while on the flights there and home.

I guess today I will start making a to-do list for me and hubby so we both get our stuff done before the trip, both vacation things and real life things.

Twelve days...I missed yesterday. It was a busy hectic day that included my MRI on my back. Now I just wait for Wednesday when I see the specialist again to find out what exactly is going on.

On the trip planning front I have washed our new shirts and they are so much softer now. I hate the stiffness of some new shirts. I also ordered yet another backpack option to take into the park. So it should be here Saturday and I can see which will be more comfortable on me. So I technically will have three backpack options and my fanny pack option. So I am hoping swapping them up will help my back. The newer back is a sling type bag I can wear on the front or back so if it fits my windbreaker pullover (that compacts into it's front pocket) then that and the fanny pack may be the better two options. The only thing with the fanny pack is I may not be able to fit any snacks in it so I would just have to find something I could eat in the park and it not make me feel yucky. I should at least be able to fit some carrot sticks in it though so at least I would have those.

I also have a room request for hubby to fax from work tomorrow. I am hoping its not too late. I don't think it will be and I honestly don't even care if we get it or not but I would love a water view corner room. Since we booked a King room most seem to be corner rooms (but not all). We don't mind the walk to and from the bus stop since it's just hubby and I so I think we would really like the water view over being close to the bus stop.

We've had the corner room a couple of times at POR and they are nice because you have two sets of windows and only one next door neighbor. :)

I watched the all ears tour on you tube of a king room and it had two windows that's what made me want a corner room. I love natural light in the room so that's my top request. I hadn't even thought about not having a neighbor on both sides. That's definitely a plus.

Whoa! Seeing my countdown ticker say one week and 4 days seems so weird. I mean I know I am just 11 days away but seeing it written that way makes it seem so close compared to where it started. My suitcase is officially coming out today or tomorrow and will stay out of the closet. I have my packing list made and will be marking things off slowly the next week. Hubby on the other hand will probably pack Monday before we leave that Tuesday, or even leave his stuff on the bed Tuesday morning for me to pack while he is at work... :rotfl2: We obviously have different packing strategies.

10 days...Almost to single digits :cheer2:

The suitcase is currently on my bed and stuff laying all scattered around while I sort through things like my ears and other stuff I keep stored in my packing cubes in there (like enough laundry stuff for a couple loads of laundry just in case I need them on any trip). I also have everything out of my carry on backpack so I can sort and clean it out. I have a lot of random things in there from car trips we've had lately and I don't need all that in there for Disney so I am repacking it. Most of the stuff I won't need before the trip but the day of the trip I will throw my chargers, medicine and wallet in there and it will be ready to go.

The new sling bag I ordered to try for the trip is out for delivery today so I can also pack it with stuff I'll be taking into the park (minus my sandwich/snacks) and see if it will fit my jacket and try it on to make sure it will be comfortable enough to wear all day.

I've also started adding things to my publix shopping list online so once I am ready to check out for my grocery pick up it will be easier.

that's pretty much the only update for today so far. Tomorrow I hit single digits! WHOOP WHOOP!

Single digit day...9 days to go. I almost missed it because it's a bad joint pain day...UGH.

Nothing new to report except that my suitcase is partially packed. I have most of my shirts packed and my leggings and capris packed. I'll change that around when I get closer to see the weather. I also changed my backpack for my carry on to my newer one. I will still need to put a blanket in it and my chargers, ipad and kindle if I decide to take those. I'm leaning on not taking them though.

That's pretty much it for now.

Eight days and I have gotten a cold...UGH! I really do think it's just a cold and nothing more because my mother-in-law is with us right now and she has been coughing a lot and she is so bad about not covering her mouth when she coughs. With her dementia it really is like having a kid who you have to remind to do things like that. I have started treating it with dayquil so hopefully in a couple days it will be knocked out.

In the meantime, I am making a list of "Fancy Rides" I am willing and want to purchase even if I decide against genie+. Since we are doing MK twice, I am considering not getting Genie+ for our first day (it will be a Wednesday) and then maybe get it for our second day there which I know will be busy because it's a Saturday and the dance teams will most likely be in the parks that day. I will also probably get it for HS but may not. I know I won't get it for EPCOT.

So far the plan is:
Wednesday (Magic Kingdom): Rope drop either 7 dwarfs (if we don't purchase ILL) or Peter Pan. We don't care for Space Mountain. I will ride it if I am with someone else who wants to but hubby doesn't like it at all so we will skip it. The rest of the day will be just doing whatever we want to. Since we have a second day at MK we aren't too worried about missing things. We have never done Tiki room so I told hubby we should do that this trip since it's more of a laid back trip. I want to definitely watch Disney's Enchantment tonight so we can ride rides during it the second park day if we want to. Then hopefully jump into at least one more ride line after it's over while a lot of the crowd heads out.

Thursday (EPCOT): We have our topolino's breakfast at 7:45 so we will head to EPCOT via the skyliner as soon as we are done. I do plan to buy ILL for Remy just to keep from waiting in that longer line in case we aren't there for early entry to jump in line right at opening. If we are at EPCOT for early entry we will rope drop frozen since I will already have Remy as an ILL. My little grand daughter is really into Frozen right now (especially the second one). She is 21 months old and literally stops what she is doing and sings the songs when she hears them come on. She is gonna take after her momma and be a great singer. I need to video this ride and send it to my son and daughter-in-law to let Vivi watch it. After that we will just wonder around doing whatever we feel like doing. EPCOT is both of our least favorite park so we will ride some things and then may even take a small break in the day. I still have Beaches and Cream reserved for supper but I have never done two ADRs in one day so we will decide closer to time if we want to keep it. If we do we will just walk over from the park and then walk back to watch Harmonious. If it weren't for me wanting to ride Remy, record frozen for my grand daughter and see Harmonious we would probably skip EPCOT.

Friday (Hollywood Studios): I am probably going to do Genie+ today. I will grab a Slinky pass right at 7:00 hopefully for whatever time I can grab. I will also probably buy RotR but not sure about MMRR yet. If I can grab a RotR pass for close to our Oga's ADR it would be perfect. so we can maybe knock out all the galaxy's edge in one swoop. If we can't it's no biggie because I am sure I will want to come back through it again since I love star wars. Not sure what we will rope drop. Hubby really likes toy story midway mania so maybe that. If we don't buy ILL for MMRR maybe that if we are at the front of the pack then move on to TSMM. Basically I'm all undecided on this day LOL

Saturday(Magic Kingdom): Final park day. I will most likely get Genie+ for this day. Main reasons are the fact its Saturday in The Magic Kingdom and because I know dance teams will be in the parks. Not sure I will buy any ILL since I may get 7 dwarfs the first day and we don't care about Space Mountain. This will just be a go with the flow day. We hopefully will have seen Enchantment the first night so we can use this night to ride more rides during it. We've never done that so it will be fun not being in the big crowd of people. The park is opened until 10:00 and I hope we can close it down and not be too exhausted the next day traveling home since we will have to be picked up around 7:00 ish for our flight home.

Still working on exact plans, especially for HS but the others are more go with the flow.
