30 days to go...Let's do this!

A week from today we will be flying down.
Our plan is for hubby to work half a day and be home and ready to head to the airport by 1:30-2:00. I will have the car packed and ready to go by the time he gets home and all we will have to do is grab our last minute things and remind our college age son to set his reminder to go sit with his meemaw on the friday we are gone and head out the door. It's about 1 hour and 45 minutes to the airport we fly out of, but I do know we will hit one school zone if we don't time it right so hopefully we will. ur flight leaves a little before 6:00 so boarding will begin around 5:25ish so we are hoping we will have time to at least grab some snacks to eat before we board (if not eat something more substantial before we board). We are used to flying out early in the mornings and get through security and bag check rather quickly but we are not sure how quick things move during the evening hours at this airport so that is what will determine if we have time to eat before or not. We've also never had to park and catch a shuttle to the airport either. I'm giving hubby the job of figuring our parking and shuttling to the airport.

The only "good" thing about getting a cold now is that hopefully the worst of it will be over by the time you go to WDW.
Friday (Hollywood Studios): I am probably going to do Genie+ today. I will grab a Slinky pass right at 7:00 hopefully for whatever time I can grab. I will also probably buy RotR but not sure about MMRR yet. If I can grab a RotR pass for close to our Oga's ADR it would be perfect. so we can maybe knock out all the galaxy's edge in one swoop. If we can't it's no biggie because I am sure I will want to come back through it again since I love star wars. Not sure what we will rope drop. Hubby really likes toy story midway mania so maybe that. If we don't buy ILL for MMRR maybe that if we are at the front of the pack then move on to TSMM. Basically I'm all undecided on this day LOL
When we went to HS back in October, and Genie+ was new to us, we bought ILL$$ for RotR and MMRR. There were a lot of rides that my sister hadn't been on, which was why we bought those two rides. We had early entry and roped dropped SDD, rode TSM and MFSR all before the 9am park opening time. This trip will just be DH and me and we don't need to ride SDD again, so we will rope drop MMRR then go to my favorite TSM. The only ILL$ we buy will be RotR. That ride is worth it. :)

We usually fly out on the first flight of the morning. So when I took a 6pm flight last January I wasn't sure what it would be like at the airport. I decided to bring a sandwich with me, which worked out well. The hardest part of that flight was waiting all day for it. :)

It's fun seeing my ticker only say days and not weeks/months. WHOOP WHOOP! 6 days to go.

I am doing everything I can to knock this cold out. Including vicks vapor rub on my chest and feet. So hopefully in a couple days I will be over the worst of it.

Five days. It is seriously getting real now.
I forgot to update on my spine specialist appointment and the MRI results. No Degenerative disc, just arthritis ( and several pinched nerves)! WHOOP WHOOP. He did give me a steroid pack to take on my trip and so I will take those each morning to help protect me from having to be in pain while on the trip. But enough about that, it's almost DISNEY time!!!

Probably not much happening trip wise today. I have work I need to do plus I need to get my house cleaned over the next couple of days so I can spend Monday doing last minute things/errands and not have to worry about housework.

Four days to go and my cold is so much better. Now I won't have to worry about people looking at me thinking it was more than a cold. Although I have never been happier to work from home than I am right now because it seems like everyone we know is getting sick. Hubby and I even talked last night about what to do and he thinks we should go on our trip so that's what we are doing. He said unless my gut says otherwise because my gut is usually right. So as of now there is no plan to change our trip and it's still on. We just need to hang on for the ride and stay well for a few more days.

Feel better soon and have a great trip!
I have a cold too...just a cold, I get it every winter. It's on the way out, still a bit of a cough on occasion and we leave in the morning!!

I hope you shake the cough soon too. Have a fantastic trip! I get this cold every year too. So glad mine is mostly gone now with the exception of a cough every now and then.

T-minus 3 days!!!!!

Whoop whoop! :cheer2: It's getting super close now.

Hubby and I were just talking and I now think the plan is to get Genie+ on HS day and the last MK day, which is a Saturday.
I'll buy ILL for Remy at EPCOT and the rest just go with the flow. At HS I will grab RotR ILL and hopefully hubby can be grabbing a slinky dog pass at the same time. I want to try to get RotR at a time I can coordinate our Oga's reservation. Hubby is technologically challenged so I am hoping he can snag a slinky and if not maybe I can after getting Rise. I just need to make sure he knows what time our ADRs are so they don't interfere with each other. On the first MK day we will either rope drop PP or 7 Dwarfs. Just depends on how the lines are when we reach them. Since we have a second MK day we aren't worried about missing anything the first day. We also don't mind lines as long as they are reasonable since we won't have little one that need entertaining while we wait.

We were hoping we could pre buy parking at the airport we fly out of but you can't (or at least we can't find a way to). We've never parked at the airport because we usually spend the night somewhere close the night before that allows you to just stay parked there and they shuttle you to the airport.

2 days!

Hubby actually pulled out his clothes to pack this evening...:faint: I have to admit I'm shocked. I figured I would be packing him Tuesday while he was at work. I just need to modify a few things in my suitcase and mine will be all packed and ready to go.

Tomorrow I will do my last minute errands like going to the bank and making sure our college age son has groceries at the house since he will be on his own for meals while we are gone. We also wanted see the grand babies before we leave for the rest of the week but they have not been feeling well (my son, DIL and grand babies all have the crud) so we will most likely only get to facetime them so aren't around them. Oh how I will miss them since we are used to seeing them 2-3 times a week.

You are so close!!!! I hope you guys have a great trip!

Eight days and I have gotten a cold...UGH! I really do think it's just a cold and nothing more because my mother-in-law is with us right now and she has been coughing a lot and she is so bad about not covering her mouth when she coughs. With her dementia it really is like having a kid who you have to remind to do things like that. I have started treating it with dayquil so hopefully in a couple days it will be knocked out.
I feel like getting colds now is a million times worse. Glad you are feeling better.

Arthritis of the spine is not great. Glad you have a steriod pack for the trip!

1 day to go...tomorrow is disney day. Well technically it's travel to DISNEY day. I went this morning and ran my errands (bank, target and grocery run for my college aged son so he will have food to eat while we are gone). Tomorrow will probably go by very slowly while I wait on hubby to work half a day before we head to the airport. We are both packed except last minute things like our chargers and hubby's C-Pap machine. I placed my publix pick up order to be ready between 9:00 and 10:00 pm tomorrow night. We land at 8:40 so I hope the time works out so it's ready. I don't think there is anything else to do except wait on time to leave tomorrow now.

It's travel to Disney day!!!!!

Car is packed and gassed up. Boarding passes in our apple wallets and printed just in case. I just need to get myself ready while I wait on hubby to get home from working so he can get ready and us hit the road to the airport.
