3rd Time's the Charm!? A 2014 PTR *NEW 11/21!*

Sometimes there are more important things to do than update a PTR. Especially when you're in this point of planning when there's virtually nothing to talk about.

I'm glad that the money situation is looking better so that you can relax a little and not worry as much. Good luck with your continued job search.

Time goes by far too quickly, so poor PTRs often have to suffer lol Thanks for the well wishes about my job search!

Agreed with afwdwfan, sometimes more important things then a PTR!

I can't imagine having to pack for a baby:scared1: I wish you all the luck with that lol! Packing list will be your best friend with that I'm sure!

Good luck on the job hunting! Its so hard to do, but I'm sure its hard knowing you'll be leaving on vacation as well!

I will be sure to post about how packing goes with all of the baby stuff! I am a little scared myself right now, but luckily we have back up space available in the vehicle that my family is driving down lol Thanks for the luck! Job hunting is the worst, and there is nothing here, but something good has to come up at some point!

A new baby to enjoy while on maternity leave is much more important than keeping us entertained on a PTR (you can save that for the actual TR!).

I leave a week from today and I've hardly gotten anything set aside for the trip, so don't feel bad.

I'm sure everyone will enjoy the TR more (cute baby pictures, anyone? lol) I hope that you have a wonderful time on your trip!!

We are just over a month away from our trip :banana:

It is finally almost here!!

I am going to do a proper update one day this week, but this trip is definitely happening, we are getting so close to our departure day, and we've finally chosen our FP+!!

I hope that everything is going well for all of you! I've made it by to comment on a few reports today, so hopefully I can keep myself a little bit more caught up :rotfl2:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: your trip is so close. It will be here before you know it.

Glad you got your FP+ chosen.

Can't wait for LOTS of cute baby pictures at Disney.

Woohoo! You're getting really close!
That's great that you got your fast passes all picked out!

I take a ridiculous amount of photos on a regular trip, I cannot even imagine how many I'm going to have now that it is E's first trip! My mom very generously bought us the Memory Maker as a Christmas gift so we will get all of those photos as well.

Finally getting close! Our selections aren't the best since I waited so long to make the choices, but I'm not really concerned about it. This trip is about E, and I'm not a big ride enthusiast so I don't care that there was nothing available for Everest or some of the other thrill rides lol

Time for an actual update!

In life news, DHs job is going well! That helps us big time. He is in a new position now so it is long hours for now but that won't last forever. I am graduating in less than 2 weeks!! Finally. I still haven't found a new job, so I'll have to go back to my old one, which I'm not happy about, but eventually I will find something else.

E is growing so fast! She is 8 months old already and is doing some really awesome stuff. She is going to love WDW and I cannot wait to see her reactions to everything. We still haven't gotten her reflux under control, and one of her specialists brought up the possibility of her being celiac. I think that it is definitely possible. So I'm going to try us on a gluten free (and already dairy free) diet and see what happens. I'm kind of disappointed about having restrictions in Disney but at least Disney really works with people in those situations so I won't starve lol

This is what our trip schedule is looking like now, and it shouldn't change much from here...

Day 0 - Tuesday, November 11
- We are leaving after DH finishes work to go to a hotel near the airport

Day 1 - Wednesday, November 12
- Flight leaves at 6:00am and arrives in MCO at 8:50am
- Take DME to AKL and get settled in
- Probably let DD take a little nap
- Head over to DTD to look around
- Most likely eat at Earl of Sandwich (New CS meal for both of us!)

Day 2 - Thursday, November 13
- EPCOT day! (I feel weird about not going to MK first)
- Breakfast at Akershus at 10:40am - This was the only time we could get, I'm not crazy about it
- FP+ 12:20 - Character Spot; 1:35 - Soarin'; 3:15 - Spaceship Earth

Day 3 - Friday, November 14
- Breakfast at Boma at 9:00am (New for both of us!)
- We plan on spending the morning at the resort, exploring it, watching animals, and testing out the pool and kids splash pad
- Then we will be heading to MVMCP! I'm so excited for DD to see this!

Day 4 - Saturday, November 15
- I think we will spend this day at Animal Kingdom
- Dinner at Mickey's Backyard Barbecue at 5:30pm (another new one for us!) This is a meal the whole family will be at.
- FP+ 11:20 - Kilimanjaro Safari; 1:00 - Meet at the Outpost; 2:30 - Finding Nemo - The Musical

Day 5 - Sunday, November 16
- The entire family (15 of us right now) has reservations for Crystal Palace for 8:00am. I am so excited to finally be getting an early ADR.
- The rest of the day will be spent at MK
- We might try and wait standby for the 7DMT after breakfast
- FP+ 10:30 - Peter Pan's Flight; 12:15 - Buzz Lightyear's Spaceranger Spin; 1:45 - Dumbo

Day 6 - Monday, November 17
- Breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe at 8:30am
- Then I think we will head over to DHS
- FP+ 9:00am Frozen Sing Along (won't make this one, need to change it); 10:45 - Indiana Jones; 12:30 - Beauty and the Beast
- Need to do something about these FP+ selections!!

Day 7 - Tuesday, November 18
- Another MK day
- Dinner reservations with the whole family for my grandparents' anniversary at Liberty Tree Tavern at 5:30pm
- FP+ 3:00 - Dumbo; 4:30 - Peter Pan's Flight; 5:55 - Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid

Day 8 - Wednesday, November 19
- Fly home
- Our flight leaves at 2:10pm and arrives home at 4:45pm

So I need to do some switching around of FP+ but I'm not too concerned since we aren't used to relying on fast passes and E will be dominating our plans anyway so the times may not end up working out anyway.

Oh, and everything is now paid for!! It was an amazing relief to have it all paid for so we just have to pack and go now!

To-Do
- Get DDs passport photo re-taken and send in forms DONE
- Make a full packing list STARTED
- Make a list of photopass locations we plan on stopping at
- Work with my camera to get familiar some settings I will need for AKL and fireworks (Any suggestions TeekathePony?? lol)
- Figure out what all DD has for clothes that will fit her while we are there DONE
- Currency exchange for tips and souvenirs I did some
- Finalize FP+ plans
- Start packing
- Organize papers that we need for the trip so that everything is ready to go

And a treat for anyone who made it this far, a cute baby photo!

Glad to hear your DH's job is going well, hoping you find something you're very happy with soon also. And congratulations on graduation!
Wow, 8 months! Poor little E, I hope that the gluten free helps. And you're right, it's too bad to be restricted but Disney does it better than anyone! :thumbsup2
I think the plans sound pretty good. I hope you love Boma for breakfast, it's my favourite!

Refresh my memory -- what camera do you have? If you have the option available, my favourite (easy!!!) thing to do for AK is to put the camera on Tv or S (Shutter priority) and Auto ISO. Set your shutter speed at about 1/250 and away you go, should do the trick for almost everything!
As for fireworks, I'm not sure if you're bringing a tripod but if not, try to position yourself by a garbage can (I've used several MK garbage cans in lieu of tripods!) and you are going to want your ISO all the way down, 100 if possible, aperture somewhere around f8 and shutter speed... well you might have to play with that a little but somewhere nice and slow, say about 1/8 or slower.
:thumbsup2

Aww! Omg she's so big! And so gorgeous!

It will be here soon!

She is definitely getting big! She should really be the right age to take it all in and react to the sights and sounds... without being too terribly scared of everything. :lmao:

Good luck with the gluten free thing. Word of warning, my sister has to eat gluten free and got sick last time we were in Disney World. They told her that the QS gluten free fries are fried in recycled oil that could have been cross contaminated by other foods that were fried in that oil on the day prior. She's pretty sure that her contamination came from Cosmic Rays. She didn't have any other problems.

Krysten, forget the details of the trip and just post pictures of E and we will all be happy. She is just too precious for words. And that outfit. :goodvibes

Plans sound great. We LOVE Earl of Sandwich and Boma is a favorite breakfast place.

Adorable!!!!!! Love this pic! So cute!

Your plans looks wonderful. So many great FP's and meals. I hope you do a TR so I can read all about it. It all sounds great! ::yes::

Oh yeah - EOS and Boma are both super yummy!!!!

Thanks Wendy! I appreciate your kind words and help with the camera! I have a Canon T5i. I have been meaning to play around with different settings for months now but I just never managed to get around to it with everything else going on.

It is coming so soon! 2 weeks today until we leave for the airport! Thanks for your tips about the gluten free, fortunately we don't have to go that route any more!!

lol thank you Kathy, we are pretty smitten with her! My mom found that outfit at Babies R Us, and I'm so glad that she did, it's adorable and so warm and fuzzy :)

I have heard so many great things about EoS so I am really excited to try it out.

Adorable!!!!!! Love this pic! So cute!

Thank you Mary Ellen!! We are so close now, I can't wait! I am sure that I will do some type of a TR, although at the rate I'm going it will take me years to finish lol

2 weeks from today we will be leaving to go to the airport!!

We are all so ready to take this trip! It has been a crazy year.

I have booked our airport hotel, FP+s are scheduled, I made my packing list, suitcases are out and things have started to accumulate in them, so we are on our way!

A few of DD's outfits that we bought are not going to fit. She is a lot smaller than we thought she would be, and has been a slow gainer, so some of them are still huge on her. I did keep tags on everything though, so I will be taking some of them back. I won't be able to replace the summery stuff with smaller sizes since they aren't in stock anymore, but at least I won't be out the money. Plus, she has more outfits than she will probably need to begin with lol

I still have to make a call to the TSA to ask about the best way to travel with DD's liquid medications and her formula. Her kind is a special, prescription only kind, so I can't get pre-made bottles or anything like that. So I'm going to call ahead to have their recommendations just to make everything easier. But that shouldn't take me too long to do!

So we are almost there!

In life news, I graduated and now officially have my BA diploma. It feels great, but I really miss school. I am sure that at some point I will end up going back to take something else in addition to my degree. Maybe a masters program.

E has been doing well again with her reflux. We have seen her specialists and were able to rule out Celiac disease, which is a huge relief! It is just that stubborn reflux that we keep having to deal with. I am afraid of her having an episode while we are away but trying to be positive and crossing my fingers that she will be good while we are there.

And now my poor doggy is sick. The vet said she had a bit of an infection and some acid reflux (of all things!!). She was on a bunch of medications and seemed to be doing well but she was sick again all last night so I am taking her back to the vet today. Poor girl. I spend a large portion of my day giving reflux medications to various members of my family lol

That's all for now!

Only 2 weeks?!?!

Congrats on earning your diploma!

I'm glad that you've been able to rule out celiacs, but I'm sorry that E is still having some issues. Hopefully it is something that she might be able to outgrow? :confused3 I hope it doesn't cause any major problems on your trip.

I'm sorry I missed this little upate (besides my mom being ill, my brother and her caregiver, has been in the hospital since Monday and will be for awhile).

It's getting so close. :yay::yay::yay:

I'm glad you are getting things organized and that you will get some money back when you return the clothes.

How odd is that both E and your dog have acid reflux?

Most important, congrats on your diploma. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Woohoo! You're so close! Glad you got poor E's reflux under control some more and that it's not celiac! Best wishes for your doggy to feel better too.

Thank you! It is going to be here (and be over) before we know it.

Her specialist at the children's hospital said that he thinks she should out grow it by her first birthday, which would be awesome, we are almost there. Only time will tell I guess.

I'm sorry that you are going through all of that Kathy:hug:

Our whole family (minus the cat lol) has reflux to some degree, DH said it must be contagious :rotfl:

So close! Thanks for the well wishes!

You're so close!! A little over a week if my calculations from your last update are tight.:rotfl2:

That's so exciting!! Oh, I hope you and your family have such a wonderful time and little E has a memorable first trip.

And congratulations on graduating! Isn't it weird when you're not a student anymore? Like, you attend for so long, it's almost unbelievable to think about not being one.:lmao:

You calculated correctly!! A week from today we will be heading to the airport hotel!!

Thank you for your well wishes, I really hope that it is a great trip without any major catastrophes.

And I feel pretty lost without going to school. I am thinking that I will go back for a masters or post graduate degree or something at some point. I really love learning and miss having that. When DD gets a little older and I have some free time on my hands I'm sure I will get back to it!

Yay for one week!

I am sorry about the reflux. Eric had it until he was one and I really wouldn't wish it on anyone and I think comparatively speaking, his was mild.

Everything sounds good except I'm sorry you are feeling a little lost without school. Hopefully vacation will help with that. Sorry I've been totally MIA.
