4 Days, 4 Parks and 4 Years in a Row…Here We Go!! July 2012 Update 7.1.12

Well look at Mr. Keith actually making a suggestion to add more Disney time! I'm proud of him. What'd you do? Slip him a little something something in his drink? Hypnotize him? Seriously, I'm excited for you guys. It's always nice to add an extra day to any vacation especially a vacation to Disney.

:ssst:Don't share my secrets! I too was very proud of him and when he realized he had actually planned the Wednesday and Friday (although my ideas were in there a bit from the previous plan) he suddenly backed off but Chris and I could not let it go unnoticed!! I think as long as I do not press MK on him he actually is getting a small fondness for WDW! I am all for adding an extra day and Disney is one of the best places for a bonus day!! :goodvibes

:dance3: That is so great that you get to add an extra day. I think Keith must secretly enjoy Disney more than he lets on! I think Option 4 is the one I'd choose too. We stayed at AKL 4 years ago and I love the resort. There's so much to see just in the lobby and the gift shop has some unique stuff and is fun to just explore. Your trip is coming up so soon now! Excited for you!

"Saturday: we get up, drive to Orlando. Breakfast at McDonald's and stay at a hotel. Dinner at the beachy place...is there beer?" Sunday: Epcot where there is beer and then supper at.....the, uh..... (Me: Ohana)...oh yeah Ohana and then back to Epcot and the beer". Monday: sleep, swim, and relax then go to the singy dancy place where they had good food and beer. Tuesday: Indiana Jones, Toy Story, eat in the cars and Chris and I go see the cars explode while you go see the little girl mermaid. Then we go to Epcot where they have the German beer. Wednesday is Animal Kingdom and then supper at the dinosaur place. Thursday: you all leave me by myself while you go to the nightmare place and then we go to Epcot."
I'm liking this guy more and more! Here is a link to a "Beers and Ears" list at WDW - http://beersandears.net/wdw-beer-list/ There is even an iPhone app for it! :thumbsup2

Oh and one rule for me: I am not to get mad at him over something stupid! :rolleyes1 Guys just can't let things go!! :cool2:
HEY! I resemble that remark! :lmao:

I think he secretly does too! We actually suspected this last year but this year it seems to be a little more evident. Although I still don't let him know I am completely on to him!! :thumbsup2

I decided to go with Option 4 and last night cancelled the Friday reservation and made a new one for Wednesday! I really liek AKL and I have been anxious to get back to explore!

Really not much to report on. Since I have everything planned I am just doing the waiting game now. Final shopping this weekend, picking up the tickets Friday, online check-in and deciding whether to request a specific building or not, haircut, packing, cleaning the house, and work....I have enough to do so I am glad that planning is down!! :lmao: I must admit though that I miss not needing to schedule or work on anything!

But one of the best things about today is I have made it to the single digits...9 DAYS , BABY!!!!! So I am celebrating just a little bit!!!!

party:party:party:party:party:party:party:

And I even brought along a band!!!

:rockband::rockband::rockband::rockband::rockband::rockband::rockband::rockband:

Well hopefully I will have something good to report after the weekend which will be less than a week until we leave!! :woohoo:

Hooray for nine days!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for celebrating with me!! I got a "special" treat yesterday...one of our servers at work had something burn up (I am not a techy....) but they have to replace it and that means shutting everything down for 5 hours....next Tuesday...which means we get off at NOON!! And then we have Wednesday off!! So it is like a mini-vacation before my vacation!! I am so ready for this much needed break!! :goodvibes

I am excited to try it but I read the menu has changed some, like the ribs and shrimp are missing which I was looking forward to! But I am sure the rest will be good too! :goodvibes I hear so many good things about Ohana! I am ready to try all fo our new places!!

Almost there. Looking forward to your next trip report!!!

Don't forget my advice for your husband. THere is a great sitting place next to Club Cool at Epcot thats got good AC and nice views of Imagination and the Land pavillions.

Wowee!! Only 7 days to go:banana::banana::banana:

It's really hard to keep the smile off your face isn't it!!:dance3:

Congrats on the bonus time off too! Love when those little surprises happen, especially when I'm getting ready to go on a trip. I'm usually scrambling to get everything done. Can't wait to read your report about all the great times you had!

Yes! I have to remember that piece of advice!! Thanks for the reminder! I think we skirted through there in March but the AC will be much more appreciated next week I am sure!!

It has been really hard to contain my excitement and smiles! This week should fly and before we know it we will be leaving!! :goodvibes

I am so excited about that bonus time off! I really need it to get things in order! And since the computers will be down I can't work remotely from home so no guilt either!! LOL

So Friday I took off a little early and Keith and I made a journey south...to "the coast". It is a running joke that everyone in Mississippi knows what "going to the coast" means but it really isn't as glamorous as it sounds! :rotfl: It simply means we headed to the Biloxi/Gulfport area!

There was a purpose in the journey though! Since I had purchased our tickets through the special military deal...and we chose to not stress about getting to Orlando in time to go to Shades of Green...we bought them from the ITT office at Keesler AF Base where Keith was stationed.

You have to go to the office in person and pick up the tickets showing your military ID. And since they aren't open on Saturdays, well, that meant a little pre-trip getaway!!

We made it to Keesler in no time and got these wonderful beauties!!!

Then we checked into our room on base (another wonderful perk!! :goodvibes) And I must add that at 5pm when they do the Revelry followed by the National Anthem...every single person comes to a complete standstill and it is really pretty cool! :thumbsup2

And then we headed out to the beach! Now if you have never been to the Mississippi Gulf Coast...well, let's just say: don't expect the pretty blue waters of the Gulf Shores/Destin/Panama City variety! The water looks more like a lake due to the Mississippi River mouth being so close and also barrier islands. It just isn't water I choose to get in BUT the sand is amazingly soft and fine and clean! So we found a great pier to walk along. Here are a few pictures.

This gives you an idea of the lovely brown water....

The pier we went to (there are lots!) was by the lighthouse in Biloxi. This is the only lighthouse to survive Hurricanes Camille and Katrina:

We did go to the location of a former casino (The President) which during the hurricane wound up down the street, across the street on top of the hotel we always stayed at when we went down for visits-- before "the hurricane" (another phrase anyone around here knows about--Katrina). Needless to say neither are there anymore. Well, actually we were where Treasure Bay once was...a cool pirate ship casino that was simply a shell once the storm had passed. So much has developed yet almost 7 years later the scars are still so evident!

IMG_1438.jpg

That isn't a real lighthouse...just an icon of the original above one (I guess).

Anyhow, while we were walking around what used to be a casino I found shells that looked almost like a Mickey head! So since this was technically a pre-Disney trip I moved the one shell that was slightly away and left a hidden Mickey...then I snapped a picture!!

IMG_1436.jpg

Then we headed over to the Ocean springs area and watched the sun go down....

The evening was spent enjoying all you can eat crab legs...a precursor to Cape May!! :thumbsup2

After dinner, since we really didn't want to call it a night, we went back to the beach and watched the shrimping boats in the distance.

Saturday night and today I almost finished up my shopping for the trip. Tomorrow night I will begin packing!! We are only days away from departure!! :goodvibes It was lovely a lovely pre-trip weekend!!

I am most definitely familiar with all of your sayings!

Sounds like y'all had a lovely pre-trip getaway. I was in Gulfport on Saturday, too! But, I didn't go to the beach. I went with a couple of friends to the outlets. I wanted to go to the ones there just for the Disney outlet.

I love the patriotic Disney tickets! Those are too cute!

Your trip is almost here! :yay:

What a nice getaway to pick up your tickets which, by the way, are super cute. Your trip will be here before you know it!
