This is disappointing, especially since they are charging the same amount for all the All-Stars, I can't see paying the same for this room when I could be staying in a refurbished one.

If that is what the preferred rooms are like, I’ll definitely be canceling my reservation for mid May. Even though I have a military discount, those old rooms are subpar and not worth the money they want. I would switch to one of the other All Stars or Pop if it was available but they’re all booked up. This really makes me sad because I’m bringing my SiL for a girls trip. Guess we’ll just have to reschedule to the fall.

Yep it still does, but seems Disney is moving people as they complain as it wasn't renovated.

Pulled off a facebook group, looks like renovations may have started. Reported to be in surfs up buildings. I have seen a few images on other sites with wooden floors and the old style furniture. pic was taken the week before Easter.

In some comments on an article on Facebook someone stated: I did hear when they first opened, they had a bad water leak. I wonder if they decided to just pull of the carpet and replace it with the hard floor when that happened. Think this maybe unrelated but not sure. This was in the Surfs Up section.

I klnow, I did learn through another page one of the admins said they were told by Disney they were starting. Also the person who posted the images of the reno work said it was second floor 6257 area. I will look when I go soon.

If they’re doing the actual refurbishment now and didn’t do it when it was closed that’s a head scratcher lol

Agreed. Two whole years with the resort closed and they couldn't be bothered to do an already planned renovation. Just cheap.

Decided to pop over to Sports and renovations have started in the Football section!!!!! They have been working during the closers however had delays with supplies. Stuff is already in the rooms as windows were open. Surfs up did have a light referb as some of the floors were needed to be replaced. They hope to be done sometime this summer and will go onto next year with the other sections.

OMG! Don't stay at All-Star Sports until the rooms are refurbed. We made the mistake with an AP discount. These are 20th Century rooms.

No USB ports. I had to use my fuel rod to charge my phone. There's a fuel rod exchange in the lobby.

The TV clicker is an original and barely functional.

The AC barely cools. We arrived at midnight and the room was warm. We woke at 3:30 in a sweat. We never really fell back asleep and it wrecked our park day. DH went to the front desk at 7am. Maintenance came to the room quickly and confirmed it was not cooling. It kinda got fixed while we were at the parks but never really cooled the room.

Gross carpet....

The outside looks nice and is freshly painted. The landscaping is beautiful. We will try again in a refurbed room.

Thank you for sharing. I was just debating switching from Music to Sports because we have never stayed and Sports and it would be fun to try something new. I have now made up my mind to go stay put and try Sports out another time.
