Break out the bubbly and warn the waiters...she's coming back!

Christine your plans look AWESOME. Wow! This is gonna be a great trip!

I really want to try Paradiso 37 after perusing their menu yesterday...sounds delish! Did Kevin do a review of it on the PodCast? I haven't listened to yesterdays show yet.

Love all your DIS meets and even a PediDISMeet!

What is the AC dinner? I think I remember reading something about this before, but are you gonna splurge some details? :goodvibes

So much fun! And now that there's the possibility of a meet, I'm musing.

How can my husband NOT dress as Jack Sparrow? I know we're supposed to do the whole Peter Pan theme, but I just can't fathom meeting all of you with him dressed as Captain Hook. :lmao:

Ooooh... that is something to muse. True, we do know him as Captain Jack. Hmmm... that's a tough one. Can he bring an extra costume and do a quick change for us? :lmao:

Hi Christine,

I had a chance to briefly meet you and Heather last December before the Toy Story Mania meet. I was there with my daughter, unfortuneately we didnt stay for the whole meet as she was sick. We'll be going back Sept 24- Oct1 this year too. I havent had a chance to read your whole pretrippie report yet but where is the meet on the 24th? Can you still sign up for it? TIA for any info . Looking forward to reading more. :goodvibes

Hi!

It's nice to "see" you again. Wasn't the Dec trip so fun? Although it definitely stinks to be sick in the World. You'd think Disney would have figured out how to prevent that by now!

The Adventurer's Club dinner is part of the larger Everest Adventurers Weekend and is "sponsored" by the WDW Radio Show. You had to either book your travel through their affiliated travel agency or buy a separate ticket to attend the dinner on Thursday night. I believe it is now sold out. BUT I do think there are other formal and informal meets scheduled for throughout the remainder of the weekend. For example a bunch of us are thinking about the MNSSHP on Fri 9/25 and I think Lou Mongello will be having his "meet of the month" that weekend probably associated with Food & Wine. I think there is also a race that weekend? :confused3 Probably the best place for more info is to go to the WDW radio show site. I'll post more here if/when I hear about it. :goodvibes

Thanks, Brook! I'm pretty excited. :yay: Kevin did do a review of Paradiso 37. I just listened to it today. I totally want to go! Sounds like a fun place!!

I don't know a whole lot yet about the AC dinner. It's at the AC and is a buffet and show. I do know they aren't serving alcohol. :sad2: I have to be honest and say I'm really going for the social aspects to spend time with Heather, Lynn & Chuck and others. I've actually never been to the AC before so any inside jokes will unfortunately be lost on me.

I am totally humbled. That's twice in one week that I've been given the "famous" status.

YAY! We're all going to be at that party! This SO begs a DIS meet!!!! :goodvibes

I think it's a must! :thumbsup2

How fun will that be?!?

I'm pretty excited too! It'll be fantastic if we can work it out. MNSSHP is such fun! :yay: I'm glad you think the itinerary looks ok. Plenty of room for changes but I don't want to get too nuts. Go with the flow as you say! ::yes:: I could probably go between the pool (pleasenorain!)and World Showcase every day and be perfectly happy!

:woohoo: A MNSSHP DISmeet!! That'll be fun fun fun!!

:faint: :scared:

Not sure I have that in me. But that's ok!

I'm excited about this too. Especially the champagne and strawberries & cream at the tea! :rotfl:

why does this not really suprise me???

:lmao::rotfl: Ha-ha ladies. I think I probably did know, I just didn't pay attention. But in fairness to me, I think the late b-fast was in the original plans before things firmed up and P&J decided on their "off-site adventure."

Oh well, no worries. But I think that getting from Beach Club to Contemporary for 7:30am just ain't gonna happen. You'll be better for it, trust me.... not exactly a morning person. :sad2:

Well We could pick you up in jens car...:rolleyes1 OR better yet... how about late bfst (10??) at Chef Mickeys on Pedi-day:yay: Jen and I can do kona on Tuesday instead... She's not here to speak for herself... but I can't see why she'd mind LOL!! Yes you are correct... the original idea WAS a late breakfast... I think we sorta fogot about that fact:upsidedow

Paula

Oh, good lord, I don't even want to talk about how long it takes to put on the Captain Jack costume. Let's just say it's a process.

I actually came up with a really great idea today, totally spawned from this whole conversation, so I want to thank you!

I may be dressing as something else for MNSSHP. I'll post about it on my PTR soon. :thumbsup2

I'm on board thanks to Bendy's pimp out on the Bendy & Friendies thread. I need my Disney fix and this will do very nicely! :goodvibes

Hey C! I'll completely have to live through you now since I'm no longer in the running.... SO.... you should meet up with Heather instead for Cape May!

Just wanted to let you know I'm still following you! :thumbsup2:

Hey Christine!
I just realized your were doing a PTR!!!!!!!!!!! Yay, hope you don't mind me joining in!!! Going back to read now.....

Hi Christine, I really loved your last TR (being a mid-thirties singel girl myself). :goodvibes I just saw the link to your new PTR and had to come and have a look!

Don't worry, 10 days will be just fine! I was in WDW in 2008 with a friend for 10 days and when we returned in 2009 we stayed for 8 days. We really thought that was much too short!! :scared1:

Hmmm... that could work. But I don't want you to have to schedule around me. Well we can discuss. :) 12 days till ADR day! :yay:

Yeah! So happy to have you here! Happy to help a fellow addict with a Disney fix! :goodvibes

Aww... thanks Julez. So sorry you had to cancel your plans.

Hi Kristen! OF COURSE I don't mind you joining. Happy to have you on board. :)

Thanks so much! Great to have you back! I'm sure I will ultimately think 10 days is too short... funny how that happens. Already as I'm looking at the plans I'm thinking that there's not enough time to fit everything I want to do in-- especially all the restaurants where I want to eat!

How in the world do I end up so late to these things!! Oh C, I'm sorry for being so late!!! I can't wait until this very special trip, we are going to have so much fun!!

Your ADRs look fantastic, you are more than welcome to join us for Yatchsman, the more the merrier! It will be a great time I'm so giddy with excitement! I think one of the days I'm looking forward to the most is our ladies relaxing day (Pedis, Tea, and MNSSHP) (WOOOT I'm going to be at the same party too LOL). We are going to have such a wonderful time!!!

Well lady I'm counting down the days until we meet for our dinner at CG and Wishes! Although now that I know you have started this I had better get on mine LOL!!!!

I'm really really excited C!!! I can't wait!!!

No such thing as late, my friend. Welcome! Plenty of planning time left. I am so looking forward to Yachtsman- thanks for letting me crash your party. Although that is now making me question Le Cellier. Can you have too much filet and mashed potato in one trip? :confused3

I'm looking forward to pedis and tea too! And Cali Grill for Wishes! I've already started pouring over the menus. :rolleyes1

Yes, you need to start your PTR!! :yay:

Is there anyone here who can convince me that Jay and I should try Yachtsman? We've canceled something like three times over the years mainly because we have so many great steakhouses in our area of the world that we have a hard time justifying it on vacation in Florida when we want to gorge on seafood.

Tell me all about it ... if you don't mind. :goodvibes

Another friendie here on board! It looks to be a great trip you have planned and I love the picture at the Osborne lights!

This will be my first visit. But I've heard good things about it. Samantha Brown sure seemed to like it. I will have to dig up some other reviews I've seen. And I'll be sure to capture some food porn for you!

What better way to spend your time on a cloudy Sunday afternoon than thinking Disney thoughts? :confused3

DVC
As some of you may know, I recently tried to purchase a DVC contract on the resale market. Emphasis on tried. :headache: I had thought that the price was almost too good to be true and apparently it was. Disney decided to buy it back themselves. So as much as I was freaking out at the possibility of such a big purchase and worried that I was “wasting” my hard-earned $ and making a big mistake in this economy (I could just hear Suze Ormon preaching to me in my head!) now that it was squashed (for now anyway) I am very sad and certain that I “need” DVC. Funny how that works.

But now I’m waffling on the home resort. The contract I tried to get was Beach Club. Mostly for food & wine. Because I can see myself going back there year after year and if I do there is no other place to stay. :snooty: But then I look at the prices and I can get OKW for so much cheaper. And I loved OKW in 2006. But if OKW was my home resort would I ever be able to score Beach Club in October? :confused3

Oh, the drama! Believe me, I count myself as lucky that I can even entertain such thoughts!

Eat to the Beat

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (Fri 9/25 thru Sun 9/27), Richard Marx (Mon & Tues) and Starship (Wed thru Fri) will all be at F&W while I’m there. Trying to determine which, if any, I want to go see. Now by “see,” I mean to plan to be in the vicinity of the stage to enjoy the music but not be “stuck” in the theatre. I need to maintain close proximity to the beverage stations. :rotfl:

Any opinions on these? Of the 3 I’m leaning toward BBVD.

Playing Dress-Up

Two MNSSHPs. That’s right two. And part of me is thinking that maybe I want a costume. Nothing too fancy, mind you. And I reserve the right to fall back on a t-shirt and shorts. Maybe I’ll go check out the DISign boards for some t-shirt inspiration.

ADRs

I’d really like to fit in Sci Fi diner for lunch- I know. Hardly a food destination. But I am on a quest for the best burger in WDW and I hear this could be a contender. Opinions? But where to fit it in? Maybe on Brown Derby dinner day? I’m only having a salad for dinner at BD (plus rolls and grapefruit cake!) so maybe I could have a heavier lunch.

I heard a review of the new Paradiso 37 restaurant and in addition to loving tequila, I’d really love to check it out. But when?

I’d been thinking Le Cellier for dinner on Saturday but not sure I’ll keep it now that am also doing Yachtsman. Plus would like more time at the F&W booths or maybe Tutto. Or maybe R&C during Illuminations. Although the DIS addict in me is saying “are you nuts for not even trying to get Le Cellier? Do you know how hard those ADRs are to get??” What do you think?

Argh. pirate: Too many restaurants and too little time.

Some revised plans:

Thursday 9/24:

Arrive ~11am
Lunch Beaches ‘n Cream. Stop #1 on the quest for the best burger in the World.
Welcome to WDW champagne toast, France :cloud9:
A little World Showcase exploring.
Downtown Disney – the perfect margarita from the margarita stand and shopping at Tren-D! Does anyone know if you can send packages back to the resort from Downtown Disney or is that just at the parks?
Adventurer’s Club dinner!
Maybe hit the tequila bar at Paradiso 37? Or a pop rocks martini at Fulton’s? Or a beer at Raglan Road? You can see what is on my mind. :rolleyes1

Friday, 9/25 (1st day of F&W!!)

Can I stay away from World Showcase? Probably not since I’m right next door! I feel compelled to check it out on behalf of my fellow DISers. And hopefully will be able to post some live updates!
Afternoon: MK
Hoping for MK TS dinner with friends at either Plaza, LTT, or Tony’s. Are the characters back at LTT?
MNSSHP #1

Saturday 9/26- need help with this whole day
Worried F&W will be too crowded on the first Saturday?
Maybe a pool day if the weather is nice?
Thinking about maybe a massage at Mandara Spa?
Maybe dinner at Le Cellier? F&W booths? Tutto? Rose & Crown? Or maybe just the fish and chips stand. I just don’t know… help!!!!

Sunday 9/27
AK day
Lunch - brave Y&Y or stick to counter-service? What do you think??
Dinner at California Grill with Jen in time for Wishes. How romantic. ;)

Monday- Paula arrives!
DHS for as close to opening as I can get. Hello, Toy Story Mania!
Early Lunch: Sci Fi
Maybe a pool break back at Beach Club
Dinner: Brown Derby
There is not a Fantasmic this night so maybe over to the Boardwalk or into Epcot for Illuminations?

Tuesday
Free day to do whatever. Epcot? Pool? Back to AK? MK?
 Good thing I’ve narrowed it down!

Wednesday
Epcot
Lunch: Chef’s with Jen & Paula
Dinner: Yachtsman with Jen & Paula . I hope I’m not too full from lunch!
Illuminations

Thursday
Breakfast at Chef Mickey’s- not too early! ;)
Pedis at Grand Floridian spa at noon
Grand Floridian tea ~2pm
MK
MNSSHP #2 – not sure on dinner?? Maybe Pecos Bills? Can’t have a trip to WDW without hitting the fixings bar!

Friday
??? More F&W probably!
Return to Animal Kingdom Lodge - :cloud9: Drinks at Victoria Falls. Browse in the gift shop. Check out the animals w/ night vision goggles.
Jen’s b-day dinner at Sanaa. Has anyone eaten there? Or checked out the menu? I don't know what to order? And yes, this is a question I need to figure out 90 days before my trip. :rotfl:

OMG- I'm almost 90 days out. I'm almost in double digits! :yay:

Saturday
Departure day. BOO!
Not leaving ‘til late afternoon so think will have to say goodbye to World Showcase… my idea of :cloud9:. Definitely requires a farewell toast to WDW!

Still not totally happy with the plans. Thank goodness I still have 11 more days to refine them!

:upsidedow

I think it would be okay to skip Le Cellier on one trip, you will be eating at some great places so I think it would be okay. I know though, it's hard to by pass that one for me too.

Pop Rocks Martini, eh? That sounds FABULOUS. I want one of those.

I can't recommend Rose & Crown enough, I think you should try to fit that in. :thumbsup2

My money is on Beaches and Cream winning the "Best burger" title! There burger was wonderful! Not to mention the onion rings and ice cream!

I think you should brave it out and try Yak and Yeti...I loved it C!!! It was worth going just for the wonton dessert and I will not be missing that again...P and I are definitely eating there for lunch one day and I can't tell you how excited I am about that LOL!!!!

I love your itinerary..especially all the dates with me and P....overbearing bah...I call it high quality girl time and I'm going to mooch it up baby!!!! :cool1:

Ignore the temporary hijack, please.

Bendy! Can I call you Bendy? I see your thread on the community board, and I've lurked through some of your reports, but haven't been brave enough to join. Perhaps like Nike says, I should just do it.

I've had a fantastic meal at the Yachstman. I know in the area of the country you're from, you can get a great steak, but I have to tell you, I am not a red meat eater. It's rare that I indulge in steak, but I had a fantastic meal at Yachstman one year and it's stuck out in my mind as probably the best steak I've ever had. Everyone in my party ordered steak and everyone loved it. We were stuffed, and we all got dessert anyway. It was an awesome meal. Apparently, from my limited memory, the steak is prepared with some type of special oak that's indigineous to Florida, so you can't get that particular taste on your steak anywhere else.

And now back to my regular scheduled commentary on 2excited's planning prowess. :happytv:

I highly recommend that you go see BBVD. For those not in the know, that would be Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. I started screaming with joy when I saw you had listed them as being there and then practically cried when I realized I'd miss them by two days. :sad1:

They're awesome, they're awesome live, and I can't recommend them highly enough. :thumbsup2 Plus, if you go, I can live vicariously through you.

See, everyone's happy. ;)

Bendy seems to be all that I answer to these days, so by all means call me that ... I kind of like it. :lmao:

Please de-lurk whenever you feel like it ... I love all the chatter and back-and-forth on my food porn threads and the more the merrier. Most of the folks that I've clicked with are wonderful people and very welcoming ... make Nike's advertising department feel worthy and join us! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for your input about Yachtsman - that's exactly what I was looking for. Since we're staying at the Beach Club this fall it seems like the perfect time to bite the bullet and pay Yachtsman a visit.

So thanks again and please visit any or all of my threads whenever you'd like - you're always welcome. And thanks Christine for allowing this semi-hijack of your planning thread.

I agree with this completely ... we're going to miss BBVD, which is one of the few acts that we were interested in seeing this fall. Oh well, can't win 'em all.
