Canadian Buffoon's DISmeet vacation - 09/14 - Bowled Over

If you liked that, you should come further north and do the Oregon Coast. More rocky and "wild". Equally beautiful!

It’s on my bucket list
to start in Canada and
drive down the coast
to the Mexican border.

Me too. The wind was nice - you wouldn't have noticed/seen it without her in it.

::yes::

Nice! So bigger waves too.

::yes::

And, yet... I'll still tease and chide you.

I’m okay with that!

Well that makes total sense. Duh. (Feel dumb right now.)

Nah. Itinerant aircraft wouldn’t
necessarily have folding wings.

She might be like Hal... Be careful! Watching.... always watching.

Open the pod bay doors, Betty.

Don't sell yourself short like that!

Someone has to.
Wait.... everyone does!

It was pretty great. I am FINALLY processing the photo's I took(like right as I type). I have picked out the ones I am going to use so now I just need to finish editing and start writing!

Finding time is the
hard part.

No updates yet??? It's been more than a week already!
Actually...
I’m stuck on something.
Might have to email
someone for advice
before I can continue.

Plus, I’m on day 14 of 16
work days in a row.
(15 of 17 shifts)
Then I’ll get one day off (maybe)
before another cycle of five.

Excuses excuses.

;-)

I have missed it!
I don't facebook much.
I will take a quick look
at the first couple items
and that's about it.

Gonna have to go look at
your posts, specifically.

Either that or you can wait a few months and it will be covered in my bonus features.

I'm betting you have
a lot of that.

A lot.

Why do you think road rage is such a thing here?

Time to go back and watch!

Ain't got time for that! I'm still trying to catch up on the Marvel universe.

Was it Bartel's
by Marina Del Rey?

A little farther east of that... :rolleyes1

No, silly.
Because you happen
to have a friend
who lives there!

But I knew where it was even before i knew you!

If you fall off the TR,
you get left behind.
Uh, oh... I'm caught up now so is my ticket still good?!

I sashayed into the building
I wouldn't expect anything less :snooty:

I had a silly smile plastered
to my face the whole time.
And not just because the tar pits
weren't the only thing with gas that day.
:scratchin

My quoting is all messed up (or, rather, it won't let me quote unless it feels like it, and it didn't feel like it a lot apparently... but I wanted to say that I really enjoyed your pictures of the Farmer's Market - I'd been to the same one nearly 10 years ago and loved it! :thumbsup2

Let's go for a quick
little ride down:
And here I expected you'd say Memory Lane... although - to be fair - I suppose it's a recount of what happened, so it is still Memory Lane. :thumbsup2

Fair warning, I can only
take one of you with me.
I guess so! Dibs!

it's a Harley Davidson (of course!)
Naturally. ::yes::

(note the oh-so-appropriate tune.)
YAY! The Eagles is one of my faves, and that song in particular. :goodvibes

(Don't mind the blatantly 80s music.)
I rather like blatantly 80s music, so maybe it deserves a re-watch

"Is that near Minnesota?"
Dude... it's your country.
You don't know where North Dakota is???
:rotfl:

Excited to hear more! Yikes, sounds like you're working your tail off these days. Hope you can get some rest soon. In the meantime, I'm happy I only missed 2 updates in my trip/vertigo sabattical ;)

Either that or you can wait a few months and it will be covered in my bonus features.

:rolleyes1

Why do you think road rage is such a thing here?

It is?
I thought Californians
were all chill and all.

;)

Ain't got time for that! I'm still trying to catch up on the Marvel universe.

A never ending quest,
perhaps.

A little farther east of that... :rolleyes1

I know.
I was just commenting
on how poor my experience
at that one was.
Still surprised.

But I knew where it was even before i knew you!

And really... why not.
I know where...
Let's say Denver, or New Orleans
is and have never been there.

I'm the only one allowed and that's because I am 6'9". You can't sell yourself short if I don't and I didn't.

Oops!
Yes, I suppose that's
accurate!

I'm working on trying to have more free time. I'm burning myself out.

I know that feeling.
I just came off...
17 shifts in 16 straight days.
I have today off,
then two shifts tomorrow.

Feeling it.

Uh, oh... I'm caught up now so is my ticket still good?!

Of course it is.
Need a hand climbing aboard?

I wouldn't expect anything less :snooty:

Nor will you get any less. :snooty:

:scratchin

I love a good market.
I hope to see another
good one in just over a month.

And here I expected you'd say Memory Lane... although - to be fair - I suppose it's a recount of what happened, so it is still Memory Lane. :thumbsup2

I suppose it is!
But at the time,
it was all new to me!

I guess so! Dibs!

Well, you're the only one
who's asked, so... hop on!

YAY! The Eagles is one of my faves, and that song in particular. :goodvibes

::yes::

Love that tune.
I may have been singing
it really loudly inside
my helmet.

Sooo maybe it's a good thing
you weren't there.

Me: "WELCOME TO THE HOTEL CALIFORNIA..."
Tracy: "Stawp! Staaaaaawp!!!!"

I rather like blatantly 80s music, so maybe it deserves a re-watch

Then it's right up your alley.
Or runway, as the case may be.

Excited to hear more! Yikes, sounds like you're working your tail off these days. Hope you can get some rest soon. In the meantime, I'm happy I only missed 2 updates in my trip/vertigo sabattical ;)

As I just mentioned,
17 eight hour shifts
over the last 16 straight days.

Have today off and then
another sixteen hour shift
tomorrow.

Yeah... bit burned out.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit
better now.
Are you completely better?

It is?
I thought Californians
were all chill and all.

;)

There's that 1% you gotta watch out for...

A never ending quest,
perhaps.

Well now that my network TV shows have all left me hanging as to whether or not the main characters live or die, we can go back to catching up on Netflix.

And really... why not.
I know where...
Let's say Denver, or New Orleans
is and have never been there.

Its basic geography folks...

As I just mentioned,
17 eight hour shifts
over the last 16 straight days.

Have today off and then
another sixteen hour shift
tomorrow.

Yeah... bit burned out.

I don't know how you do it. And you wrote that yesterday so today you're working that 16 hour shift. :faint:

Yeah... bit burned out.

That just sounds absolutely brutal. I'm so sorry!

Sorry I was late signing up for the bike ride; looks like the seat got taken. Maybe next time.... ;)

I’m still miffed that
they cancelled Lucifer.

Its basic geography folks...

Some folks are too
basic for geography.

I don't know how you do it. And you wrote that yesterday so today you're working that 16 hour shift. :faint:

Well...

To be honest, I’m not
sure how I do it either.
Might explain why I
don’t feel so well today.

P1040483_zpsogwx4qcw.jpg

Look at you, looking all cool or something.

But when I went to pick up the bike,
I was told I needed to put down
a $3,000 deposit.
I had room on my credit card,
but still... many people wouldn't
necessarily have that.
Especially when travelling
and putting food and hotels on it.

That gave me a headache just reading it.

(For any of you wondering,
it's a Harley Davidson (of course!)
Road Glide.)

I would expect nothing else.

Notice the movie that's playing?

I did! Mary Poppins.

Several of the little towns
I passed through looked
like they were frozen
in time back in the 50s or 60s.

I'm picturing "Cars" in my mind.

Really great pictures, but this is my favorite.

Let's talk about lane splitting.

I have heard of this. Sounds dangerous.

I passed the bottle neck,
within about five minutes.

Score!

"Excuse me." I called out.
The guy stopped and I explained
where I wanted to go.

Here you go again asking for directions. You're going to have to turn in your man-card.

Wow! We go to the see the USS Alabama every couple of years but this is so much bigger.

The USS Midway was in operation from 1945 to 1992.
It opened as a museum in 2004.
It gets over one million visitors every year
and as of a few years ago,
was the most popular warship museum in the US.
One of the cool things about the ship/museum
is that the guides all served aboard her at one time.
More on that in a bit.

I love the history. We're going to the WWII museum the Saturday before Father's Day. It's DH's Father's Day request. I've been a few times but it's been too long since the last time. If you make it to New Orleans put it on your list.

I ain't no Angel,
but I would've been upset.

Is that a threat?

It's so BIG!

I'm partial to jets,
so that's what I mostly looked at.

I can understand that.

He was really interesting.
He discussed the mechanics
of landing a plane on a carrier.
And he would know...
since he's done it himself,
on this very carrier.
How cool is that???

Very cool!

F-14 Tomcat
Made famous by
Tom Cruise in Top Gun.

Oh my heart be still. . .

I feel the need...

The need for speed! I saw this on the big screen when it first came out. Loved it!

The ship is big.
A thousand feet long.

Yep!

I walked in and was greeted
by a friendly young lady.
(Much better than the last place.)

Much better.

I had to go all the way to San Diego
to meet a fellow Canadian!

:yay:

And Betty was dead.

This has me very worried.

Arrived at the rental place
within five minutes.

Thank goodness.

And... did you see it?

Yes I did! He looked like he was ready for a journey.

Look at you, looking all cool or something.

"Or something"

:lmao:

That gave me a headache just reading it.

Certainly took me by surprise!

I would expect nothing else.

:snooty:

I did! Mary Poppins.

I know!
Kinda wished I had time
to go in and see it. :)

I'm picturing "Cars" in my mind.

Yes! That's exactly it!

Really great pictures, but this is my favorite.

Thanks! :)

I have heard of this. Sounds dangerous.

Well... the jury's out on it.
The idea is that it's safer
than being stuck between
too large, moving objects.

Gridlock is when you're going
to get in a fender bender.
But what might be fairly minor
to a car, can be pretty nasty
on a bike.

Here you go again asking for directions. You're going to have to turn in your man-card.

You assume that I haven't
lost that puppy years ago???? o_O

Wow! We go to the see the USS Alabama every couple of years but this is so much bigger.

320 feet longer.
But I've never toured
a battleship.
And I would like to.

I love the history. We're going to the WWII museum the Saturday before Father's Day. It's DH's Father's Day request. I've been a few times but it's been too long since the last time. If you make it to New Orleans put it on your list.

Thanks for the tip! :)

Is that a threat?

Nah. I'm Canadian.
What's the worst that
could happen???

It's so BIG!

Sorry.... Had to.

Oh my heart be still. . .

 :smooth:

The need for speed! I saw this on the big screen when it first came out. Loved it!

Me too!

And... me too!

This has me very worried.

She was done.
But... oddly enough,
revived when I got
back to Winnipeg.

:sad2:

Yes I did! He looked like he was ready for a journey.

Nah.
Just ready to take over
the planet.

I’m still miffed that
they cancelled Lucifer.

I'm sorry. I'm just pissed that in all the NCIS series we are waiting to find out which main characters live and die until next season.

Well...

To be honest, I’m not
sure how I do it either.
Might explain why I
don’t feel so well today.

I mean, it's tiring enough to drive three hours each way to go to a wine party after being gone for 8 days eating BBQ. I can't imagine what it would be like if I had an actual job.

Not trying to beliddle you, I really don't know how you folks at my age with real jobs do it. I can barely get up in the morning on time for my doctor appts. Between that and my tenant obligations I barely can get out of bed!
