closest hotel to outlets?

to save on airfare, my mom will be in orlando for a day & 1/2 by herself. where's the best place to stay to walk to shopping/restaurants?

best bet would be the hotels at Downtown Disney (Marriott Courtyard, Grosvner, Best Western and a few others I can't remember) is within walking distance of Downtown Disney (Marketplace, Pleasure Island, etc,.) and the Crossroads (TGI Fridays, Red Lobster, Perkins, Jungle Jims, McD's, Taco Bell)

Marriott Village at Little Lake Bryan is within walking distance to the Florida Outlet Mall and several restaurants (Bahama Breeze, Golden Corral, . (These would be Marriott hotels on Vineland Ave). This walk is slightly longer than the Downtown Disney one.
