DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Morning men. Day off from the running, so am off to the dry ski slope for a couple of hours, because that's all we get in the UK. Couple of errands, apart from that, not much from the London Bureau.

I can completely picture that scene.

:D

Dry ski slope?

Dry ski slope?
Its a training slope in the UK made of Coconut mats. I know its not as good as snow, but its a really sunny cold day here and the lack of running sent me up into the attic for my boots. £8 an hour and they throw in the skis. Nice to get back on them.

Canadian porn and chicken sandwiches. Good to see all is normal here.

Another snow day for the kids. Between Christmas vacation, cold, snow, and busted water pipes, the kids have only had 2.5 days of school since December 20th and tomorrow isn't looking good either. I'm glad I can walk to work.

Happy belated to your DD Norm. I hope she has more interest in getting her permit than mine does. His 16th was back in November and still has no interest in getting his permit. I'm not going to push it because it might be related to the car wreck I had a couple of years ago. Also it saves me on the insurance $$$.

You all know what tomorrow is right?

Wednesday. :sad2:

That's a lot of time off.

Something like this?

Or, as we call it, Thursday.

How do people cover that if they both work?

No idea. Thankfully it has never been an issue for us. When the kids were little and in school and we lived in civilization, SWMBO stayed home. Then we moved to KY and she still stayed home for a couple of years while they were in school. Then she tried homeschooling for a couple of years. Now that they are back in school with other kids, and she has a part-time job, they are old enough to dispose of the body if one of them kills the other while we are both out.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one. My youngest DS (who is now 20) still doesn't have a license. He was perfectly happy being chauffeured around and then got a scooter (which under certain CC limit doesn't require a license or insurance in GA). He's finally getting to the point where he's close.

OK, so I have a question. I caught a little bit of the football games over the weekend (that's the American football played with the hand as opposed to English football played with the foot). Anyway, I watch very little NFL and barely follow it. But I do try to catch some of the Superbowl, just because it has become the spectacle that it is. The problem is that I have no horse in the race. So, who do I root for? I think there's four teams left, so who should it be? I'm going to assume Mark @Captain_Oblivious would tell me the Eagles. Any other suggestions?

Rum consumption?
Actually no, not in that case. I guess Truro is just a bit forgettable?

On a completely unrelated subject, are Notre Dame playing this weekend? ;)
Well played, my friend. I liked that one. :teeth:

Happy Tuesday. Another round of snow brings it up to 7-8 inches, which means i can't measure it anymore. :lmao: :sad2:

DW's cousin's husband works on the road crew. They told him to stay home last night instead of plowing the roads to save $. All our local taxes go to paying managers to have meetings and email people. :furious:

It's time for this guy again.

I stand corrected. The eye roll was totally expected, but not the thank you. Good on ya mate.

Did the best we could. I have two great girls. It's just difficult to think that.on occasion when they open their mouths.

I can completely picture that scene.

:D

::yes::

. :sad2:

Thanks. She is ready, but lacks thr confidence. I've had her driving around the parking lot of thr nearby grocery store without cars parked there. She is getting better. I have her driving the Aztek (tumbler) which is just a tank, or gets about the same in miles per gallon. She should be safe enough.

How do people cover that if they both work?

Fancy that. I have two jobs and am not reporting to either. But, not all are as fortunate. Some places make people come into work, so they use day care, family members, spouses alternate taking sick days, neighbor's, or just leave them by themselves.

Just checking in and...

Yep. Never change, fellas. :rotfl2:

Would you ever expect more?

For me it's more of rooting AGAINST the patriots. The falcons should have beaten them last year...if only they'd kept running the ball instead of passing., but anyone that beats the patriots are GOOD in my book.

Morning, gents.
Had to go out and shovel a little bit this morning. My neighbor said something to me, but the words froze. I'll have to wait until spring to hear what he said.

so am off to the dry ski slope for a couple of hours,

What is that?

ETA: Nevermind! Saw the answer.

Twinned with the UK porn company. Chick? Fill it.

A subsidiary.

Canadian porn and chicken sandwiches. Good to see all is normal here.

Nude penguins.

I'm glad I can walk to work.

Are you? Are you really?

You all know what tomorrow is right?

Anyone who isn't the Patriots is a good start. And finish. The Jags are a bit of Cinderella story, just to double down..
I had a pretty good night with a load of Eagles fans in Killington in about 05? 06? Championship game. Mark would know the year, but we had a right laugh with them. Many buckets of meat and beer were consumed.

Well, of course it should be the Eagles. Their last championship was in 1960, so they've never won it all in my lifetime. But they've produced enough pain and suffering for many lifetimes.

That being said, perhaps you wouldn't want to bring that pain and suffering upon yourself.

Would you ever expect more?

Nope. Zero expectations are the reason I like this group.

Rooting against the Patriots is always a good choice.

By the way, Doc, sorry about Saturday's game. That was a close one.

"I'm stuck! Please get help!"

I would think that would be Oblivious...

Well, I'm not playing in the game. But thanks for thinking of me!

2004-05 was the last time they made the Super Bowl. That was when they ran the 10-minute 2-minute drill at the end of the game.

I am. Salaried and working in agriculture research so it is all day every day when the growing starts. Therefore when I decide to walk home for lunch of a nap it is less than 5 minutes. They still get more than their 40 hours out of me so on a per hour basis, fast food would probably pay better but less flexibility.

Imagine being a Bills fan. That is partly where my cheery disposition comes from.

::yes::

No need to apologize...ever since they started this take a knee thing and the NFL won't enforce their OWN RULES regarding it, not really caring a whole lot about the NFL. I always watch the super bowl more for the commercials anyway, so may just not watch at all this year. I didn't see the game, but I heard regarding Julio missing the pass. Really glad for you and not upset on this end.
