Thank you!
Ahh Caitlin that's so scary! You'll be in my prayers for sure girl.
Prayers and good thoughts coming your way.........
You already know I am sending you all the prayers, pixie dust, and positive thoughts that I have.
I am very glad you will be getting your CT scan tomorrow. Don't let that Bari-cat intimidate you. You can drink it! I kept getting up and walking around so it would digest, then this guy comes in and drank both containers in about 5 minutes. After that, I really picked up the pace.
But seriously, I know this is scary for you but you are well on the road to finding out what is wrong. And don't forget to get your scan copied and get a copy of the radiologist report. If you are sent to a specialist or need a biopsy, you will need to bring the actual scan.
And Yeah for a Labor Day visit!
Keep us posted!
Ugh I am so worried about it now I have never done something like this before
Thank you for telling me!
I will!
Don't worry about it. The only tough part is drinking the bari-cat because its got a neutral taste and its filling. And you are small, so honestly, if you get half way into the second bottle it should probably be fine. The actual scan itself is a piece of cake. Whatever scans you have ordered will be done all at once and the equipment is so sophisticated that it takes no time to get the pictures.
Okay I am glad it doesn't have some disgusting taste! That is what I was most worried about!
Usually a CT scan of the abdomen involve oral contrast (the Bari-cat) and IV contrast, so an IV gets put in right before the scan and a dye is injected. Both types of dye obviously outline the internal organs better and enhances anything that may be abnormal.
I was told about the IV but this was the first I heard about the Bari cat. I need a pelvic and abdominal both with and without contrast.
I will be sending tons of positive thoughts your way!
PS - I am a big fat chicken and I have had this done twice. It's really the fear of the unknown that is tough.
Hi Caitlin!!
I'm so sorry to hear about them finding those things... BUT like a pp said, you're on the way to recovery! I was TERRIFIED of getting that done and an endoscopy after what they believe was pancreatitis (right when I got married a few years ago!), but I did it, about 3 times each! Know other people have done it too, and that always makes me feel better!! You'll be in my thoughts and prayers, I really hope they find answers for you.
Hey everyone!
I am just checking in with you all because we have a few things going on that might affect our updating this week. First, I am going in for some medical testing this week. My doctor found a couple lumps in my abdomen so today I had to go in for blood work and tomorrow I have to go for two CAT scans. We are all pretty worried and scared so prayers, good thoughts and pixie dust is needed!
Secondly, Andrew my boyfriend who lives in Louisiana is coming up for the weekend! Instead of me going down in October he is coming here for Labor day weekend. I am pretty excited because it has been forever since I saw him in person!
So we might be too busy for two updates this week so I apologize!
Keeping you in my prayers honey. Just keep the power of positive thinking about it. I'll do the same.
Hey just joining in...caught up all in a day. I'm 20, and it is cool seeing people my age going to Disney and still enjoying it, even though it seems to be mostly girls, so I am that lonesome guy Disney fan. Oh and I am definitely planning on having a great time when I turn 21 at Epcot(Beers Around The World) like you, and you had the Italian guys but I will easily take the German girls...lol. Oh and good luck with your testing and just stay positive.

Just letting you know I'll be thinking of you Caitlin.
It's going to be tough on your folks too, and I'll be thinking of them, too.
Hope things go well with the tests and enjoy your visit this weekend.
