I have never been then. I have heard horror stories on how packed it is because of all the schools' spring breaks. Last year Disney offered a great deal for the end of May/beginning of June and a lot of people jumped on that. So, that could be a reason why he thought it was more crowded.

If you are thinking of alternative times to go, a great time to visit is in October or November. We have gone the week of Columbus Day and loved it then. Our schools have Columbus Day off and the following day so we didn't have to take the kids out of school for a whole week. Also, November during Veteran's Day is a great time. Plus the Christmas decorations start going up.

I agree with October! We went the last few days of September into October one year - no lines at all! Weather was beautiful, and we were able to swim, also. Only negative was that the parks closed earlier - but this was 12 years ago, so things could have changed!

We are going to Fort Lauderdale for "Spring Break" this year - how nuts is THAT?! :cool1: Rags, what you have to realize is that not all the schools take off at the same time anymore - the Catholic schools always take Easter week off, but the public schools have various weeks they choose from - some still take the traditional Easter week, but others take February and/or April breaks. (Easter's early this year, so the public schools in our town are taking a break in April, instead)

The parks still close somewhat early but if you have park hoppers then you go over to Epcot which stays open later.

The schools in Central New York have a winter break and a spring break. Winter being the 3rd week in February and spring break being the week of April 20th this year. Lots of CNYers go either to Florida or Myrtle Beach during the spring break.

I would LOVE to go in October or early December, but being as they aren't my kids, I can't take them out of school:headache:

I'm just really NOT looking forward to the heat in August again...........

Actually, now that I think of it, the heat in end Sept/beginning Oct was pretty intense, too!

I remember walking full speed toward one of the concourses in Epcot, with Bob running after me, pushing Dana's stroller! If I did not find air conditioning AT THAT MOMENT, I swore I was going to DIE. :scared:

Note to self: Tell your husband WHY you break out into a run, for no apparent reason. Of course, after all these years, he should KNOW why I do things.... :lovestruc

Has anyone ever been during April Vacation (For us its the last full week in April this year)

I have always heard that school vacations were some of the busiest times of year, however I was talking to one of my friends and he told me last June (he went the first week) was much more crowded than April has ever been

We have been many times during April vacation and will be there again this year April 11-20.... we follow TGM plans and best days and we are fine.....its nice weather... not as hot as the summer...but still warm enough....

Mandy.... any news yet????????????? The letters must be coming out because Maggie just received two of her acceptance letters..... still waiting for 2... but she did get into the one she wanted with a really nice merit scholarship offer as well!!!

I know, Laura. :guilty: We must try for another time!
No cruise? I thought you were all set? :confused3
It's a long story, but not a big deal. My friend who is a Disney CM was going to go with us, but can't right now due to health issues with her mom, so we are postponing. We will most likely go in Ocober when we have our fall break or next spring depending on what goes on with her mom.
But we will still be in WDW, so it's all good!

Too bad, Laura. But hopefully you can go in October. It was such a wonderful trip. We went on the 7 night cruise and can't wait to do it again someday! :boat:

None, I'm giving them till around Valentine's and if not I'm calling them and not going to be so nice. I'm getting very impatient.

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. It is so cold here, I can't stand it. It is20 degress and I grew up in Michigan. Anyway.... I hope everyone is doing great. I'm just staying busy homeschooling the kids.

Renee - Didn't you use to work in the school library? If not just ignore this question, and I'm sorry..... but if you did ....I was wondering if you have any advice on reading. My 11 year old son is having such a hard time. I just don't know what to do. If there is a word he doesn't know he uses a word kind of close. Like if the word is diagnoses he will say diagram, or opportunities he will say operation. He also tends to read phonetically. He also is having trouble with spelling. I just am at a loss. I would take suggestions from anyone!!!

I also changed our September WDW trip to the second week of November. It sure is a long time to wait!!

See Rags? I told you tons of Central New York families travel down there during the spring break!

Congrats to Maggie. Where did she get accepted?

Hmmm ... being not so nice. I don't think that will get you anywhere.

Good choice. We have traveled there during that time and loved it!

I'm not a reading specialist, so I don't feel qualified to give you advice as an expert would. ;) There could be so many different reasons for what you describe, that I think you are best to look into a reading specialist or learning center for some suggestions. Reading is so very important for the rest of his life, that any suggestions you can get from true experts would be the way to proceed, in my opinion. :) Good luck!

Maggie has been accepted at LeMoyne College here in Syracuse and Nazareth College in Rochester (her first choice).... Nazareth is where she received the scholarship.... we are happy about this one.... its a lovely small private Catholic college set in the village of Pittsford. The buildings are old and beautiful.....Last year they had about 2100 apply for freshman admittance and accepted less than 500..... she has a few friends from church and school that go to Nazareth which is a plus as well!!!!

she is still waiting to hear from SUNY Oswego and OCC.....

Rags..........honestly April is our fav time of year to go to WDW... we have been in February (to cold), June, July and August (to hot), November (nice!)

April is really nice weather..... like I said we just follow TGM and we don't have to wait more than 20-30 min for anything............

I'll be nice to them DM. I'm trying to be patient but I'm running short on that.

On another note, I'm working on editing my pictures from last night. I went to a Gospel Taping for GAC. Dierks Bentley in a suit.

A little off topic, but that reminds me of the time I went to Vegas in July. It was my last day there and I was taking a red-eye home. So I had no hotel room, I was out of money so my buddy and I decided to go for a walk. We cut through all the hotels on the way down, but on the way back to the other end of the strip, we decided to walk out side the whole way (it was only 105, but you know, DRY HEAT:rotfl: ) I was so lightheaded by the time I got back to my hotel, I really thought I was going to pass out walking

Usually our area is that same week (MAGGIED lives near me) but this year our Spring Break is the week of April 13th. I already know 2 families who are going to WDW then.
